The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim should've been called The Elder Sc

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 3:22 am

Skyrim looks like scandinavia and the whole viking theme makes it even more obvious, sure there are similar landscapes in canada but I don't think they had that in mind when designing the game..

Actually it looks like northern scandinavia. Southern scandinavia looks different with less/ no mountains and much more forest.

As a Canadian when im not moose hunting im probably killing dragons, and if im not doing that im playing skyrim and ive noticed that they're practically the same place!

Its always snowing and it pretty damn cold.

The wildlife is basically the same.

I noticed that Nords are all incredibly sixy fair haired people who kick ass, just like Canadians (except for the french ones.

If someone steals something in one of our cities EVERYONE swarms that one guy, ever wondered why the crime rate in Canada is so low compared to the US?

all of our police officers ride horses and once took an arrow to the knee

We have free healthcare.
You've never been to Canada have you?

"Free" healthcare. Hilarious.

15% sales tax ftw.
We are more taxed in Quebec because we double dip with provincial sale taxes, but otherwise the average tax payer in Canada pays about the same as an American tax payer. The difference is that our money goes to healthcare, education and other social services, theirs goes to the military.

As an avid moose lover, I don't think I can ever look at Canada the same way again. ;(

More like "The Elder Scrolls: Norway"
I think Scandinavia is a better option because of the diverse landskape in Skyrim. Norway is pretty much mountains, fjords, lakes and forest outside modern populated areas.

See thats what you get if you let Liberals run the economy.
Who would want to spend on healthcare if they could have UAVs and phonetaps on half the populace?

that is debated, even if I do agree with you, there just isnt any solid irrefutable proof that they were there first :P

also, I'm guessing canada has some sort of pike men instead of regular police :P

I see great anologies between skyrim and Canada
The stormcloak are the québecois seperaratists movement and the Imperial are the federalists ROC.
I'm a quebecois and often the english media treat us a racist and fascist, and we in Quebec feel multiculturalism was imposed to us to assimilate us.
So ressemblance between Canada and skyrim is way more than just weather and wildlife^^.

Being how big the country is and living in Ontario, as a Canadian Skyrim still seems foreign to me.

LOL. The fact remains that as many French-Canadians I'm actually a NORMAND... Toss a letter around and that gives you Nord Man.

really? my relatives in New Brunswick pay a whole lot more in total taxes than I do and I'm in one of the most heavily taxed states in the US...then again, you may be right because doesnt Alberta basically have no taxes at all? kinda skews the average if so.

Haha so true. Russia gets colder than Canada though. I am from Western Canada. To be honest French French people from France are not very good looking. French Canadians from Montreal are extremely good looking. It is almost like when a child is born and they are beautiful babies they send them to Montreal, and if they are ugly they get sent to Toronto....... Vancouver happens to be a great place to live, why? Girls out number men 3-1, and 35% of men there are gay.... something to ponder there.

from what I saw in my year of traveling through canada it is kinda the same except bigger, like valleys in canada are much wider, the trees are massive (I drove through one! the road just went straight through it!) and the mountains are generally more soft and less cliffy. I see a bit of both in skyrim.

As a Canadian, dissaproves. Since when have we kicked any ass?

We're the only ones who invaded and burned the White House to the ground.

Who else can say they did that?

Nobody eh?

That's why they have the White House today. We burned the original.

Also Canadian Football is so hard... it only has 3 downs!
