The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim should've been called The Elder Sc

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 11:55 pm

As a Canadian when im not moose hunting im probably killing dragons, and if im not doing that im playing skyrim and ive noticed that they're practically the same place!

Its always snowing and it pretty damn cold.

The wildlife is basically the same.

I noticed that Nords are all incredibly sixy fair haired people who kick ass, just like Canadians (except for the french ones.

If someone steals something in one of our cities EVERYONE swarms that one guy, ever wondered why the crime rate in Canada is so low compared to the US?

all of our police officers ride horses and once took an arrow to the knee

We have free healthcare.

Large parts of it remind me of Pennsylvania and upper New York.

It has most in common with Norway if you ask me. Including the corpse (war) paint.

I didn't feel it was like Canada at all, though some of the Nords sound a bit like Cape Bretoners rather than the suggested Sveedish.

Frankly, appart from military might, we have been kicking the US's ass for these past 5 years. We have more social services, better worker protection laws, pay about the same amount of taxes and have a much healthier economy.

Then again, we are stuck with Harper (Bush v 2.0) for another few years, so we are already on our way down the waterslide :P

Inbefore threadlocked. Mods don't seem to like when we talk of anything but Skyrim.

As a non-Canadian, just off the top of my head, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_of_Washington and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juno_beach come to mind. Also, there was that time you were FUS-RO-DAHing dragons all over the frozen wilderness. :ahhh:

Yeah, and Cyrodill was England (overrun with immigrants supposedly) and Vvardenfell was Australia (a bunch of unfriendly xenophobes, to be sure)

nah jks Morrowind is Australia, Vvardenfell is Tasmania

And New Zealand is Solstheim

I see the similarity between Skyrim and Canada. While Skyrim tends to be a frozen wasteland, there are many places that are teeming with forests, some tundra and a mix of other landscapes, just like Canadia.

But you also have....http://www.screened.com/zap-rowsdower/15-1511/all-images/132-1974574/dower/131-248857/

Plus, not nearly enough fruity elves in Skyrim- nothing like Canadia at all. Also, as a Boston native...nice riot, Vancouver. Stay classy

If those people who rioted in Vancouver were serious about hockey, they would have trashed your city, not their own. They were just hooligan trash.

ALso, the Nords could be related to the Quebecors. You know, break off from everyone and create your own independent nation? :P

Skyrim looks like scandinavia and the whole viking theme makes it even more obvious, sure there are similar landscapes in canada but I don't think they had that in mind when designing the game..
