The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim should've been called The Elder Sc

If someone steals something in one of our cities EVERYONE swarms that one guy, ever wondered why the crime rate in Canada is so low compared to the US?
Apples vs Oranges;

"Historically, the violent crime rate in Canada is lower than that of the U.S. and this continues to be the case. For example, in 2000 the United States' rate for robberies was 65 percent higher, its rate for aggravated assault was more than double and its murder rate was triple that of Canada. However, the rate of some property crime types is lower in the U.S. than in Canada. For example, in 2006, the rates of vehicle theft were 22% higher in Canada than in the US. Since violent crimes are a smaller fraction of all crimes, the difference between the two countries is less than the homicide rate might make it seem, and the overall rates are generally close (see Crime in the United States)."

The Thieves' Guild should be run by NPCs named Ricky, Julian and Bubbles, too.

And I'll take poutine and crown royal over sweet rolls and mead any day of the week.

I'd say that Australin diggers are shock troops more than Canadians,

And I think Erwin Rommel would agree

WWI: Germans in Europe nicknamed us "Stormtroopers".

WWII: Canadians and Americans made up the First Special Service Force that earned the nicknames "Devil's Brigade" and "Black Devils".

Korean War: Australians and Canadians stopped an entire Chinese battalion at the Battle of Kapyong, preventing a breakthrough and the capture of Seoul.

Afghanistan: Several of my friends returning from that hell-hole have a similar story. Apparently, Canadians were known as "The Flail of the Devil" in Kandahar for all the trouble we gave the Taliban.

We earn our nicknames, and they're often terrifying.

As a Canadian when im not moose hunting im probably killing dragons, and if im not doing that im playing skyrim and ive noticed that they're practically the same place!

Its always snowing and it pretty damn cold.

The wildlife is basically the same.

I noticed that Nords are all incredibly sixy fair haired people who kick ass, just like Canadians (except for the french ones.

If someone steals something in one of our cities EVERYONE swarms that one guy, ever wondered why the crime rate in Canada is so low compared to the US?

all of our police officers ride horses and once took an arrow to the knee

We have free healthcare.

Hmm.. Definitely not arguing here. :foodndrink:

I didn't realize Canada was inhabited! Do most of you speak English or do I need to try and learn some Canadian?

Skyrim has obviously been influenced by scandinavian culture, the "nord" people atleast. Of course there's similiar nature in Canada - as it's on the same latitude as Scandinavia afterall, but that's where the similarities end.

Yeah, and Cyrodill was England (overrun with immigrants supposedly) and Vvardenfell was Australia (a bunch of unfriendly xenophobes, to be sure)

nah jks Morrowind is Australia, Vvardenfell is Tasmania

And New Zealand is Solstheim
Remember that thread... Vvardenfell is an island, like Australia, and the people living there are descended from people who were punished for something, like Australian convicts, thus Morrowind is Australia, duh! That's why the Dunmer have that Australian accent! :P

If Skyrim were like Canada, then all of the major holds would be on the southern border with Cyrodiil, along with 99% of the population =P

It fits Finland better, because we are nords and have fought for and won our freedom from one "empire" already

Finland might be one of the flattest countries in existence though. Not that many tall, rocky, snow-covered mountains around here. There's some of that in the Arm of Finland, which sort of goes between Norway and Sweden like "Excuse me while I grab some high ground from here".

There's not nearly enough maple syrup, hockey, or bacon-eating.

Canadian sounds a lot like French, so if you took some french classes just drink whiskey till the room starts to spin and then gargle battery acid. You'll then sound like an authentic Canadian.

I'm norwegian. I recognize not just the nature, but the culture aswell. Historically, without the fictional dragons, monsters, magic and so on, this IS our historical culture. The buildings, the weapon looks, the clothes and of course the nature. Every piece about it. Same for the swedes.

Elder Scrolls: Scandinavia.

Jarls were actually leaders of some east european countries back in the history. So by "Jarls" you can trace the country which suits Skyrim most of all. I dont remember it myself. Probably Finland, but I'm not sure.

It's exactly like Texas.

Everybody has a concealed weapon. The crime rate is low as hell. Many people support conservative views. Most people have almost as much patriotism for their state as they do their country. The people are hawt. The wildlife is tough as [censored]. There's diversity in the people. A lot of people think the natives are mindless, lawless savages, when they're in fact just like other areas more often than not. There's diversity in the landscape, despite many people viewing it as only one type of biome.

See, I can do it to.
