the house you get in dragonborn is better then all the house

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 4:16 am

it's a cool bachelor pad but it's not better then hearthfire homes because there's no customization or upgrade choices like vanilla homes and you can't move your fam there

imo it's perfect for a cranky old hermit, it just screams hermit crab to me

The house is awesome.. however i feel there is not enough light sources on the lower floor.. Can be quite dark and cold.

Spoiler
After i done the quest to receive house and killed the original inhabitants, one of the bodies no longer shows in the house, the other one.. unfortunately does. Just threw her behind a huge hay pile where you can't see it..

I did the exact samething.

this happens to all my weapon racks since dawnguard, once I remove an item that's been on for awhile then it won't let me put any weapon there

Are there bookshelves? I've only seen part of the house.

There's a few, but don't expect a lavish library. Only a few shelves hear and there, maybe 1 full book case.

Its a good place for now, but the mannequins are doing the duplication glitch, and only with first item I placed on them. Guess I get infinite skall clothes, guard armor, and nordic carved armor.

Same here. The house in Raven Rock is awesome, but I perfer the three houses I built with HF. One is my "home" with husband and the kids and house carl, another is my "sorceress's palace" for my brews and crafting and stuff, and the last one is my "trophy" house where I keep all the plunder that I can show off.

Lets see. Home - got the entryway, the west wing bedroom, storage and kitchen. plus the cellar
Sorceress Palace - the entryway, got the enchanters tower, the alchemy lab and the library and the cellar
Trophy House - the entryway, got the greenhouse, trophy room and armory and the cellar

Home is the only one I put the alter in

ha yep same here and my locations are:
home-lakeview manor
trophy home-heljarchen hall
towers of power-windstad manor

I originally had the trophy house in windstad but the marshes seemed more suitable for magic and alchemy, especially with the fish hatchery

Well, we think alike. I thought the icey terrian would be suitable for the sorceress's palace, as in Obilivion, but the I remembered that vampire lair in Morthal, and said I would use the marsh for the place for my sorceress. I wanted Lakeview for home because it is the best looking for the family. I have Shadowmere, plus the ghost horse from the soul cairn. I leave Shadowmere outside, and mount the ghost horse, so when I fast travel, Shadowmere stays at Lakeview for added protection.

The place in Raven Rock is really nice but it ain't no Heljarchen Hall. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Once you completely pimp one of the HF homes out its hard to top it. Build a greenhouse and an alchemy table and you could potentially become a self sufficient cash generator, endless gold. Nothing tops my HF home.

Hear you there. I love my HF houses, especially since I could do them "my way."

A chest and a bed thats all you get there. Nothing special (I think the bed is broken as well ... all of them are "owned" when I look at them.)

You can break into the steward's house and use the bed there. No one seems to mind.

I want to know what that "Telvanni House" rumor was all about.
I've seen multiple reviewers mentioning this, but no evidence. Has anyone got the "Telvanni House"?

You are informed, at the end of a questline, that you have access to a bed and chest (IIRC), but this doesn't appear to be the case in reality. (Oops!) But the steward's bed is usable, provided the steward isn't using it at the time. I don't know about storage, I'm afraid to try it.

I like the DB house.. i might actually consider moving there, but on the other hand, my Heartfire house is almost done and has loads more storage and better lightning.

I just got myself a bed and a chest in Tel Mithryn (?) as well for completing all quests involving the master wizard and his various staff..

True, the wizards tower was sweet in Oblivion. Indeed we do think alike as lakeview imo has the best location/climate for the fam and I have shadowmere too but didn't realize that riding aarvak will cause him to stay at lakeview, thanks for that bit of info. It was funny when I finally returned to lakeview to check on the fam after destroying miraak, there was shadowmere by 2 dead wolves and a random banded iron shield near the front door...I thought "what happened while I was away?" No worries though as I'm married to Mjoll, Aela is steward, Rayya my housecarl and my kids Lucia and Sofie both have daggers...my girls hold it down when daddy's working ;)
