Am I the only one losing interest in FNV?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:21 am

To be honest, I was, until Sunday. Then I started a new file, and am losing sleep over it. :fallout:

Yes, definitely. I got bored around mid december and only came back to play the DLC and haven't touched it since. Probably because I had over 200 hours in in the first month after it was released.

Bored of all my games really... I need to find something to play.

You played through once! You need to play through 3 more times for the other fractions!! I'm on my 13th playthrough

You know the general answer is to step away from a bit to not experience Fallout..hrm..Burnout. Few weeks and it should feel a bit more interesting to come back to. Maybe fresh ideas for a playthrough or character. Note: Didn't read much of this topic so this has probably been stated a couple of times already. Generally good advice for anyone to take.

if it was open ended then I would not have to leave my game on the shelf and not play it. If I go any further in the game I would have to start over to play the DLCs.

not to mention there has been no new on when they are even coming out.. I doubt Bethesda will let them touch Fallout 4

I'm sorry, what's the point of this? (This is a legitimate question)

You're bored with New Vegas? Play something else.

I'm not bored, or losing interest, but as said before, you can only read a book a couple of times before you lose fun.

Now, this game has provided me MUCH MORE entertainment than the plothole explosion exploration [censored] filled mess that is Fallout 3, BUT I will come back to this game soon.

And what, do you need a new announcemt of DLC every 3 weeks to play the game again?

Obisidian arent the ones who announces the DLC anyways, Bethesda Softwork does, they are the publishers

I wouldn't say I'm bored, just frustrated because I know there's new stuff to come and I can't have it yet (I'm very impatient :P ). I've given it a break and keep popping in here for DLC updates though. When all of the DLCs are out, I know I'll get right back in to exploring, and won't get sidetracked by the thought of content I don't have.

:sleep2: this thread/poll pretty much says what i've been saying for the last couple months, the environment is not very dynamic, there's no randomness to the game at all, not even one random encounter, no matter who's faction you side with, the game plays the same, many elements of the game is broken and thats too bad cause it had a lot going for it, there was a huge lack of explorable places, they needed to use far more artistic license to make the game environment fun, interesting and replayable, hardly any super mutants, hardly any human enemies to fight, no dungeons, the environment was boring as hell, no good places to battle or hide in my opinion, obsidian was so concerned about "believability" or "plausibility" that it basically stopped the creative process. video games need to be made in a way that uses a lot of creativity and imagination, too much "realism" isn't the winning formula for a game like fallout, or any game really. :geek:

Yeah I've gotten a bit bored of New Vegas. That's the one thing I liked about Fallout 3 it really doesn't lose interest although that game has all it's DLC which New Vegas is still in the early stage in that department.

Valve is worse.

Nah, Valve takes forever on releasing sequels to games that are fricking popular, Half-life and Counter-Strike. Obsidian takes for ever to release DLC. Games take longer to make then DLC, so Obsidian is worst. Though Valve do love to take their sweet ass time, [censored] IT I WANT HALF-LIFE EPISODE 3!!!!

And to answer the topics question, yes I am losing interest in the game, like every other game I have played, sooner or later, you will get bored of a game, shocking I know.

Well yeah, but I poured 130 hours into the game. Of course it's boring now. The very fact I played it that long without losing interest is a testiment in itself. No other game has provided that much play time for me except Fallout 3. So am I losing interest? Yes. Is that a bad thing? Hell no, time to move on.

Agreed! Fallout 3 and Fallout New vegas are both great games. I only started playing for compitition in level when N.V. came out. When I was playing F3, I had no idea what to do. I just played and beat it. Now I am going back and playing every single side mission I can including the DLC's. So am I bored of Fallout New Vegas? Yes. I poured over 100 hours, coming up to a total of more than 130,000 caps, having the G family's Remnant Amor, finding all the snow globes, finding more than 125 locations, getting all the ss star caps, and having almost all the unique weapons. It's time for something new.

Losing Interest means HATE?

My girfriend must want me dead then I:O

BTW

People lost interest sometimes,

Time to move on

Announcing a DLC is not mandatory unless the DLC is ready or near-ready

Or what, you think that the devs only exist to mocking us and makes games for us?

130 for an RPG isn't much, its pretty easy to play 130 hrs in a month, couple months max if you don't play a lot, i guess if you compare it to a game thats below average, yeah then 130 hrs is a lot of playing time, but if you compare it to much better games with a hell of a lot more content like oblivion, stalker, FO3, and other games that have good replay value, then thats a different story, so yeah you prob get your moneys worth out of new vegas, i don't feel i got ripped of buying it, but its definately getting donated to someone.

When they announced The Passing for L4D2 they said that around a month after it was released we could expect a DLC for L4D1.
We had to wait 6 months after it's release for The Sacrifice to be released...
And it's not like The Sacrifice was anything spectacular either, it had 2 new maps and one recycled one from The Passing and included a port of No Mercy.
So they took 6 months to release 2 new maps of a 3 map campaign.
They real slow.
At least the L4D team is anyway.
Probably sitting with their thumbs up their asses and sniffing glue.

To answer the TC's original question: No. I make sure to get games from Beth -only- for the PC as even games with huge worlds like Elder Scrolls/Fallout can get boring as hell on a console, where the only opportunity for new content is through shoddy DLC's.
