that gauss rifle is pretty useless if you dont use energy weapons.

i heard the generic sniper rifle is still better but i had enough of that ugly thing in F3, and the AMR is bolt-action

most useless weapon for me anyway is that stupid broken recharger pistol. and i thought the DE in MW2 was bad.

but the worst weapon is probably the rolling pin

Hmm. Not sure where you are coming from with that statement. I thought the anti material rifle was rather powerful. Anyways, worse weapon is silenced .22 in my opinion

Damage wise? Probably the 9mm pistol, but only because it's at the bottom of the damage list. It's still a viable weapon in it's own right.

Other than that, I never was a fan of the Caravan shotgun. Just not effective enough for me on pretty much anything.

EDIT: Forgot about the silenced .22 pistol. Yeah that's not very effective against anything.

Anti-materiel rifle fires 1 7 cap round per shot.

Gauss rifle fires 5 4 cap rounds per shot.

So it costs 7 caps to fire the AMR, 20 caps to fire the Gauss. In other words, you don't know what you're talking about.

C'mon man, really?

The ammo's rare but it dont use much and you can always just make some.

I don't use it that often, but when its time to bust out the AMT its time to bust out the AMT.

Silenced .22 SMG is pretty bad as well, crappy spread and damage.

But Gatling Laser tops it with crappy weight.

I'm going with Rolling Pin.

The silliest weapon is the Tire Iron, because if you know what a tire iron is there is no way to repair it with another unless you had access to welding equipment. Maybe that's why Welding Guns have names in the game.

At least i would be able to knock something down then hit it to death with the rolling pin :P

Edit:
Actually, rocket launcher svcks pretty bad in my opinion. Especially in very hard/hard core. Missiles weigh what? 3 pounds each? and good luck hitting anything without vats. Even if you do hit something wont do much.

The anti-material rifle is absolute garbage. I remember being so excited when I first got it. Not only is the regular Sniper's ammo cheaper and much more abundant, the damage output is so much higher than the Anti-Material Rifle's. I was killing deathclaws with it in 1-2 shots all the time. Add the fact that the sniper can be equipped with a silencer attachment, it becomes the more tactically useful in most situations. Sniper > AMR any day.

BB Gun. Only useful if you have the jury rigger perk. Although the unique BB gun is pretty nice with it's crazy critical damage.

But does .22 silenced pistol>AMR any day? Al about preference really. I agree with you about the sniper. I would use a sniper over the AMR any day.

To me the worst weapon in the game is whichever one I'm holding ... when I run out of ammunition for it in the middle of a fire fight.

I only use the BB Gun to kill Radroaches and Bloatflys.

Other than that, it's pretty useless.

Only true if earning caps was hard. I have exactly no problems with dropping over 10k caps on a AMR and starting ammo that gets re-pressed into .50MG Match hand loads. Hell, I only pull the thing out for deathclaws and ragdolling fun.

I had 10 luck, finesse and 1st Recon beret and would get 100% crits with the regular sniper?

I prefer the regular sniper to Gobi, considering you can attach a silencer to it and the 100% is already overkill on the normal sniper. I also find maxing out lockpick to be a waste of points.

Gobi crit chance multiplier = x5

Sniper crit chance multiplier = x5

By the time your lvl 20 if you don't have over 100,000 caps (or at least enough to maintain a steady and practically infinite supply of ammo) your playing this game wrong.
At lvl 30 Im using Max-Charge MF cells on my YCS unique Gauss rifle. This is probably the most expensive possible set up due to ammo and the need to constantly repair but I find it easily manageable so to be honest money really shouldn't be an issue in this game.

Now what gun REALLY blows is the scoped hunting revolver. Not only is the ammo for it exceedingly rare (not expensive but ballz to wall difficult to find) but its FAR outclassed by the Brush Gun and the Ranger sequoia.
