But it is Bethesda's game and their design decisions are their own. It's strange that so many people think that they know game design better than actual developers with years of experience behind them.

this is a very strange rationale to hang your hat on.

fallout3 had superb house decoration and item manipulation. newvegas had a dominant companion wheel and questline. the hud options are horrid. TES used to have underwater combat. 2worlds1's horse system destroys skyrim's.

should i continue or is the point driven home?

Speak for yourself.

Eh eh,fortunately i always speak for myself.. :bunny:

and no one "have genitals" in Skyrim (the vanilla "unmodded" game of course)

but if for "genitals" you mean "boobs" partially showed then you're right  even the "beast races" have them :bunny:

Perhaps they were thinking that those things were already in the above mentioned games, not essentials or too difficult to implement with success in Skyrim ?
However, mounted (horse) and underwater combat should have been in the vanilla game in my opinion too.

Hang on, you're repudiating his assertion - (which seems valid enough) - by listing a series of things that in your opinion are wrong. But what you have said does not preclude what he has said.
So I don't see your point...?

No, but I am not playing unmodded, and it's not really on topic either...

Well,i still don't understand what you mean, then you can "enlighten" me in private if you want. 'cause the argument is interesting

But i really don't think its "ot" here,'cause this is another thing i dislike of Skyrim, the Mature rating despite the childish contents.

And when i'm say lack of advlt contents i'm not talking only about "naked people" and "six scenes" - which are pretty useless in a videogame in my opinion by the way

Nah, the COD crowd are the ones who think it's perfect. Those looking for a quality, well balanced RPG with good quests and writing, decent UI, and those sorts of things, those are the 'whiner's.
Yeah, that's probably true. Some people I know who used to play cod think skyrim's the greatest game ever. Probably because they haven't experienced previous ES and don't know what they are missing. They also compare it to cod and next to cod skyrim is perfect.

I hate how hard it is to make a focused character. It takes a lot of conscious effort to make sure that all of my characters don’t end up exactly the same anymore. I feel that a lot of this is due to the fact that every skill increase levels your character. I would have loved to have picked only 5 skills that actually level my character. I already play so that I only give Perks to about 5 skills and no others, but the fact that sneaking, lock-picking, selling loot, etc. levels up my warrior really bothers me. It’s gotten to the point where I won’t even read a skill book until I know exactly what skill it’s going to increase.

I guess, bottom line, I miss classes.

Side Note: Is there a way to pick up a book without reading it? The Spell books do this automatically, but Skill books are set to auto-read and I hate having to stop to look up every book before touching it. Thanks.

How can this be something that you dislike more than anything else in Skyrim if it's something that you don't have to experience or allow to affect you at all?

I don't use it, because I dislike it. I've tried it before, hated it. Therefore I dislike it.

But is it what you dislike more than anything else in the game?

Surely something that the game forces you to experience in every playthrough that you dislike would be more odious to you than something that you can ignore entirely and not have to experience.

I suppose the second worst thing would be... dialogue. It's so blindingly repetitive, and it's actually quite hard to avoid; believe it or not. :l

I may have disliked other things in the past, surely those can be found on this board. But I feel differently now. I dislike that I don't truly own my game, but that can be overlooked. At least I can play for hours and hours with no worries of CTD.

Actually my post was in response to Cooler3100 who was saying, somewhat oddly in my view, that the thing he disliked MOST OF ALL was the fact that Skyrim had an option for a third person view. You and I were posting at the same time and yours just got done first I guess, so it looked like I was responding to you.

For the record I actually kind of concur with you.

1 Mile wide, 1 foot deep.

Skyrim Why you no give me more, why you so shallow, why you stop short or rush me JUST when things get interesting. Why aren't you Epic in depth as you are in scale.

Yup, that's a big one.

But the bigger one is the user interface. It hinders playablity more than Oblivion's level scaling. You could work with the level scaling, it was bothersome but manageable. When you try work with Skryim's UI it kicks you in the balls and runs away laughing maniacly.

That was obivously a hyperbole, but it is so poor that i'll have to take a good look at their next game's UI to see if it is usable without mods, and if need be delay the purchase until one is available. Bethesda, next time try to actually use the UI after designing it
