Markarth, the Silver-Blood Inn is marked "Danger" !! Haven't worked out who inside here is the danger... all of them or one person?
The thieves guild has no presence in Markarth at the start of the game and all infractions are met with instant jail time in the "enescapable" cidna mine... I'm guessing it's Delvin's way of protecting us ahead of time. I've never found another explination. Anyone?

If you jump from Bard's Leap Summit and survive the fall, you get to meet the ghost of the Bard that gave the place its name. And, he will sing you a song that increases your Speechcraft as well.

God that guy pissed me off. I closed his conversation because at the time I was being attacked by approximately 15 bandits and didnt really have time for this ethereal ponce and his musings the universe in general. Infact, if he werent a ghost I would have killed him to get him out of my way.

Not sure if this is mentioned somewhere...

You can get attacked by a dragon under water! Dragons can even land at the sea bed and spit fire while you (and they) are under water. I had a very strange encounter east from Windhelm, while I was swimming near the mouth of the river. I was close to the Wreck of the Winter War. While under water, I heard a dragon attacking the bandits at the wreck. I stayed under water and felt totally safe, untill the dragon's fire reached me! And I was still meters under water.

Then... the dragon landed near me! Just like it lands on land, it landed under water and this blood dragon roasted me. Strange. Beware of the sea ;)

Those soul-gem fire/frost pillars instantly break your ward.

The alchemy lady in Whiterun talks while she sleeps. She constantly greets my thief, without noticing him or waking up.

EDIT:
Flame cloak (and other cloaks) can damage trough walls when you are close enough. (I killed a forsworn in a tent while I was outside)

Wanna raise your "Bunnies Slaughtered" stat but having a tough time catching the little buggers? No problem for Dovahkiin. The first word of Marked for Death will kill a rabbit.

Hi all.

The origional post ( of "Things you may not have known" ) held some very interesting tips, information and locations of things around Skyrim people wouldn't know or have easily found. Some I hadn't noticed/ seen until after reading.

Example, before the post was closed, I read an entry, saying there are Shadowmarks all around Skyrim. One of interest was on a barrel near the houses you can buy, Breezehome and (I think) in Solitude. The markings are for members of the Thieves Guild, inside this marked barrel were items you could take, known as "Thieves' Cache". It contained some very nice things!
See Shadowmarks, bottom of page. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Shadowmarks

I sought out this tip and found it in my game.. This is what I want to continue. It makes a good read and very helpful for others. My ONLY condition is you MUST read the origional post of "Things you may not have known." I don't want people to double up but to find something new, which hasn't been mentioned before. Happy reading!

Oh yeah, there are many places that are marked for looting but I found the Shadowmak "Protected" on the door frame of a house in Markarth. Pity that isn't on the houses I have bought! LOL!!

Markarth, the Silver-Blood Inn is marked "Danger" !! Haven't worked out who inside here is the danger... all of them or one person?

i have discovered the danger. After i stole some stuff from klepper, hroki sent 3 thugs after me.

Frenzy or Mayhem will get those bunnies coming after you and your followers, city guard, pretty much any npc will chase them down.

Just read this:

if you're low on stronger types of arrows, like ebony or daedric, and can't find them frequently enough, you can pickpocket any npc's arrow supply that practices archery and replace it with one of your arrow of choice. They will then practice infinitely with your arrow type and you can take them from the practice dummy.

How cool is that? :bunny:

If you completed the Dark Bother Hood man quest line you can buy a new torture chamber with 4 victims tied up at the Dawn Star Sancturary.

The 4 tied up victims are perfect for quick leveling non lethal magic skills for your evil doo'er. You can spam cast spells as fast as possible on any victim and level really fast....They can't do anything but scream and yell. Bring Ciscero, i think he loves it..

Using soul trap levels conjuration....This is a good place to spam it. Since they can't move...Muahah..

Of course alteration, illusion, restoration and others can be leveled on yourself.. But its so much fun to use it on the torture victims.

Still,.....You can level other skills but you have to make sure you don't kill them and heal them alot. And if you do kill them make sure you
get a location of treasure off all of them 1st. Each of them has a stash of loot they glady give information about.

1) Also, If you kill one then you can level up your conjuration.

2) When mining, you can do it two ways, 1st is the normal way of point and let the amination just run and you will get 2 ore plus posible gems,
but if you stop the amination after each ore found and then restart it (do so fast so an NPC does not take the spot!) you will get 3 ores.

You stil get 3 ores even if it doesn't display it. The game does not show if you obtain tha same item in a quick succession.

Not sure if this has been mentioned and this is most likely a bug, but when you join College of Winterhold and do the Drevis quest to clear focal points, you gain crazy mana regeneration. If you spam activate on one you can get multiple of this effect(and soul gems) so it becomes alot more powerful. All 3 focal points have a chance of giving you this buff, so you can save the other 2 after activating the first one for later.

Another one I don't think was mentioned.. If you pickpocket a Briarheart from.. a Briarheart they will die instantly. :D This rquires the last perk in Pickpocket.

Using the Eagle Eye perk requires you to use a little kentucky windage when zooming, as your arrow will hit a bit lower than your crosshairs.

Bard's Leap is not a diving board. (I may have been a bit loaded, but I did know enough to save before I tried that triple flip belly flop). Unfortunately the game doesn't even let you hit the bottom before reloading.

A link to the original thread would be appreciated by those who missed it, my own personal addition is that you can equip a pickaxe and manually slash away at ore pockets, I decided to try it on a whim and it worked

I kinda like the cut-scene. I sing "John Henry" to it..........

After you've beaten the main quest the bards have a new song available by request called "The Tale of the Tongues."

If you knock down a lantern in a cave, and if that lantern lands on an oil slick (the purple rainbow looking splotches on the ground) then it will explode all over you. Be careful, as this may kill you...I just did this in the bleak falls barrow quest!
Yeah, always look out for oil slicks as they are a good way of dealing with enemies. Even just a fireball (if you do magic) can start the slick in flames.

The one I didn't twig for ages is that when you clear the last baddie from a location the game play a chord.

There's also often a jar tied up in a rope over them. If you knock those down (arrow works great), they will start the fire, too. So, you don't even need to use magic- you can even kill this way from stealth.

If you are over-encumbered but only need to go a short distance, using a power attack with any weapon lets you travel a good distance, especially if you have a high stamina. Great for when you're in your house and have just removed all the dragon bones your follower had.

If you have the Blocking perk that slows time you can really mess around with any dual weilding attacker. Try blocking two heavy attacks from a dual weilder, time slows so much you can pretty much fus ro dah yourself by shouting and then running infront of your own shout.(dosent really work btw). Really slow things down by using slowtime shout and pulling out your bow & arrow with the slow time perk just after you block the dual weild attack.

If you have the one or two handed perk that allows you to do more critical attack damage when sprinting, you can do the sprint attack and if you repeatedly spam the attack button your toon will keep doing power attacks without draining as much stamina.

Try wearing glass armour and sheild, with daedric helm, boots and gloves. very badass.
Also full glass armour with Dragon Preist mask "Rahgot" and Glass Battle axe for a wicked fast dragon killing machine.

Starting a new character? Faendal is your best friend. As a follower who is available very early in the game you can train archery up to 50 and take back ALL the gold you spend. If you do the companions guild line shortly after and get Aela the huntress you can, with her as a follower, train all the way to 75 probably in the first 10 hours of play. Boom.

Havent seen this on this particular thread but there is a cool exploit with the necromage perk and vampirism. As a vampire you are classified ingame as undead so the perk works against(for) you because any healing spells or enchantments work way better.
Paired with the aspect of terror exploit the conjuring-vamp-destructo-mutha-svcka is now a real viable option.

The entire game is better after level 46. Level up your character without doing the guild and main questlines, stay away from leveled-loot caves. By the time you are at lvl 46 all the ingame armour and weapons are at their max, all the chests have worthwile items. Everything is just better.

Would have been helpful if you linked the first thread like most people do when creating a part 2. I searched forums but couldn't find it?

No idea how to do that. The thread was closed...

Yes it is. Definitely save before making the jump, just in case, but I've never died while doing it. The first time you do it, there's a neat scene after you climb out of the pool that increases a skill.
