Not sure why they got rid of the schematics. It didn't bother me that much, though...I personally didn't use them all that much in FO3.
I assumed it was because most of them we're connected to DC and had no business being in the other side of the country. IIRC the RockIT was invented by Moira, the Railway rifle by that guy in Rivet City, the Nuka grenade used Quantum (which was DC-only). The dart gun was OP since it immediately rendered Deathclaws defenseless, and the gauntlet was redundant.
This actually made me mad. I worked through all of those quests in the MQ only to have my thunder stolen by this ridiculous deus ex machina that I had nothing to do with. It all came down to Liberty Prime. If I had been instrumental in LP's reactivation I wouldn't have minded as much, but as it was it was a huge let-down for me. I hate to say it because I liked FO3 quite a bit, but the main quest's plot felt more like a kid's cartoon than a mature sci-fi story to me.
Same as me, I couldn't believe all I had to do during the damn final battle was stroll behind until we arrived at the memorial. The quotes were funny, but everything else, specially the mission itself, was boring and frustrating.
A continued game would be nice, and play hour 101
I really don't understand why this is important to some people. I mean it, I'd really like to know what's so important about playing after, seeing as the world can't respond properly to what you did. And what's so bad about doing everything you still want to do *before* the big battle.
