This game doesn't svck me in... Why?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 11:33 am

Yeah, the 360 does put constraints on it. If it was PS3/Blu-Ray or PC, it'd be a lot beefier. But yeah, I don't have too many complaints for what it is either.
SERIOUSLY, you do know it could have been twice the size on 360? No game for 360 has ever been under 6 gigs, and most are 8. This game is 3.7....waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay small compared to any other game.

I'm no console player, but aren't they multi disc?
And the problem of space could be resolved with text speech, although I know the majority of gamers wouldn't want this.

Truthfully when I get the chance I play another game. But, when I'm bored or in the mood for Skyrim I get right into the game. When the game goes into my PS3 I think I stay more than 5 hours on the game. I don't think I can EVER get bored of it.

If they used text speech (I know this won't happen) They could add more content.
Are you even reading my posts? THEY could have made the game TWICE the size of this one, or twice as in depth if the data size was 8 gigs, but its only 3.7 gigs, they didnt need to go back to 1999 with text, they could have made it more in depth with more content, but didnt.

I normally dont write in all caps, but. HALF THE DISC IS EMPTY!!!!!!!! And no skyrim is not multi disc for 360, there would be no need for multi discs, as I already stated why....4 times.

Yes, but aren't those linear games with disc changes required?

In any case text speech is a much more robust system for both modding (irrelevant on consoles, but still) and player acknowledgement.

I know Skyrim isn't multi disc, I was asking whether those 8 gig games your referring too are multi-disc.

If you're satisfied with the underwhelming quests in this game, fine. I'm happy for you. I'm not satisfied however, it seems like Bethesda just decided to be lazy thanks to their new "RadiAuant QAuests Systrem". Seriously, they don't even have a quest journal anymore, just a quest log. It's sad.

But if you're not happy, then what's the next step for you? I walk away from plenty of games if I think they're crappy. I don't understand why anyone would still dwell on it. If Bethesda disappointed you, screw them, and move on.

For me personally I find keeping play time down to 2 hours a time keeps me interested. If I had time to attempt a 6 hour session I know id get bored.

The solution for that is to play more than one character. I play four characters, each one different, and I try to keep them on different quest-lines as long as possible. I rotate to a different character every day. I average about 5-7 hours per day, and just went over 310 hours today - and still going strong. (assassin/bow user; pure destruction mage, warrior, conjurer mage.)

I have to admit, though, that if the number of dungeons/caves/forts was lower than what it is, I probably would have finished playing one character and be done with the game. I love dungeon crawling, and am still finding new ones every day.

Good luck.

No, most games on console that are 8 gigs are not multi disc. Oblivion was 7 . 5 gigs or so, and was only on one disc, each 360 disc can hold 8 gigs, PS3 im not sure. This game is 3.7, see why I say they could have fit twice as much on the disc? Mass effect 2 was 2 discs and all together 15.7 gigs or so.

it won't happen because it's a bad idea. they could add more content now anyway. someone else already posted how many gigs the average 360 game has.

Some of them are. Off the top of my head, as far as recent (ish) RPGs go, FF13 is multi-disc (not on PS3 though).

Skyrim is not multi disk.

I would love to have text based speech back if only to add in additional content. They could have added more anyways however with the low disk space.

NO MULTI DISC GAMES ARE 8 gigs, ever, the discs on 360 can hold 8 gigs, so there would be NO reason to make an 8 gig disc multi disc, FF 13 was around 20 something gigs. thats why it wa 3 discs.

lol.. Why are you projecting that I don't want to hear what you have to say? I don't mind.

My post is merely wondering why you would even care to say it? For example, I don't give a crap about "knitting". Do you me see registering for "knitting forums" and posting how much I don't like it? No.

I am retired, divorced and live alone. I have had Skyrim since a week after it came out and according to STEAM I have 548 hours of play thus far. This is after getting up to level 20, getting disinterested and starting a new game. I am currently into my sixth game. And, I have yet to finish the main quest line. I suppose finding out that the ending is totally disappointing there is no desire to finish. I was glad when my friend, idomeneas, PM'ed me on Bioware's Social forum and asked if I would do some more voiceovers for his mod "Quest & Legends." I was only too happy to oblige. That being said, I have gone back to playing Dragon Age Origins again to get back into character. Love the game!

You don't know what you're talking about. Skyrim's game size is ~4.5 GB on 360 (5.5 on PC) which is pretty much exactly the size of the 360 discs.

A game that relies more on your imagination than on it's own mechanics is a bad game.

Ever heard of constructive criticism? I'm not willing to watch my favorite series turn into a mindless hack-and-slash, at least not without a fight. Besides, you forget that this is the official ES forums, Skyrim is the newest incarnation of TES and therefore has the highest traffic by far. Common sense, really.

I know they used some new compression technology to compress the data. When I seen that I thought they would use the extra space wisely but apparently they chose not to for whatever reason. They could have added so much to this game. They could have added in the old spells that got cut and spell creation for one.
