Toughest monster so far?

Oh, man. I played my first play-through as a mage. I didn't even know that the draugr shouters were using that shout!!!

Now I am on a new character who will be employing his most prized possessions in battle. Yikes. Didn't the Nords ever invent those wrist strap thingies? You know, like on a racquetball racquet or on a ski pole?

Yeah bring a back up so you don't have to go around looking for the other one mid battle. You can always pick them up after if you got something to kill him with during the battle. Staggering him before he shouts helps too, greatly.

"am i the only one who just ran around the big tables, throwing fireballs and arrows at the draugr deathlord trying to get to you? That worked wonders putting furniture in between us lol "

Does that sound like it needs accompaniment by Yakkity Sax (Benny Hill Theme) ?

I am level 40 and have improved my own weapons and enchanted them. I am going through Labyrinthian by myself at the moment and am taking it slowly. The Skeletal Dragon went down on one arrow (Ebony bow epic level , 20 points shock damage per hit, ebony arrows). The wisp mother did not see me (sneak 100 Plus boots and ring 20+points each to sneak) before she went down. I am looking forward to Morokai, with severe trepidation.

Krosis was tough with a Follower, but that was 15 levels ago.

Elder Dragons and higher are tough if encountered by my lonesome.

The most annoying creatures in my opinion would have to be the Charus Reapers, I hate them...nothing like having 20 hp..turning a corner, and BOOM, acid to the face... I hit KO.

I think it's a tie between Otar the Mad(at least in my first play through) and that one Draugr Deathlord in Wolfskull Cave for me.

 • Morokei without doubt...not because of the strength of the oponent but because of my low level...the first thing i did in the game was the college of winterhold , so when i faced morokei i was probably level 17 ..imagine that ..(genocide) i just laugh at the commetn up there that the user spent 15 minutes in the fight ..when i spent about half hour on that particular combat ..well i cant even call it a combat i think he got tired of persuing me i literally spent more time hiding and running that actually figtinh...really tough fight i was not even close to ready for him...but perseverance and patience above all rules......

Survived around 7-10 Draugr Deathlords with Slow Time and Dawnbreaker when Mercer(that not sneaky at all thief) triggered them all just before the final room.

You know, Elm, you don't need to fight everything there is you encounter. I didn't get the snow tiger but I sure had an issue with the troll. I just ran away both times. Coming down from HH you have a method to leave the troll way behind.

As to encountering foes which are too tough, to me that's part of the fun and interest. Do you really wish to play a game where every foe is weak? The stronger foes are either for later or you devise strategies. Frex, your Arnold guy can also keep within character by using ranged weapons - right?

OHH god that frost trol from the 7000 steps almost made me crash my controler .......i spent good time reloading one death after the other...and no im not the run away type ...and i felt i could defeat him i was just not timing and making mistakes....and i did toasted him with my dual flames....about time....

the 3 thugs Hilde hired when you stole one item from her in the beginning of the game if u play on master. They chased me all the way from whiterun stables to falkreath. But a sabrecat came and ate them in falkreath.

No matter what difficulty I'm on, I can seem to handle nearly every fight with some semblance of ease.

Except for those gods forsaken Briarhearts. Nothing kills me quicker than a freaking briarheart.

They are quite a pain. I usually use frenzy/mayhem on forsworn though so this makes them a bit easier

Draugr Deathlords - when there's 5-6 of them at a time. Which at my level, seems to be every time I head into a crypt/dungeon.

Agreeing with the guy above, Morokei easily. He killed me in two hits and I had very little to do against him. I finally beat him by spending 15 minutes running and setting him on fire.

Damn. Morokei got stuck against me and couldn't move, just shot his spells into the pillar in front of him.

So I could either stay at a safe distance and kill him easily, or make it a fair fight and stand in range of him, where I'd die instantly.

Never had the pleasure of playing through this entire game on master difficulty. When I hit level 81 and was dramatically overpowered I started to tone myself down and the difficulty up. I tread very carefully whenever I'm near a Forsworn camp that contains Brairhearts, I don't revisit dragon points anymore, I certainly don't go to giant camps where I can't use terrain to my advantage, and now every crypt I play through I have to sneak around because of the draugr deathlords/overlords and am weary when I reach the main tomb locations containing the lovely, not at all modest, chests because at level 76+ Bethesda decided that just to be sure you die at least once they throw in a dragon priest as your boss-leveled fight.

This frost dragon I ran into picked me up and tossed me like 3 times in a row finally he decided to attack someone else, so I beat feet and got out of there.

Oh co-sign on that damn Frost Troll on the steps. He was my first real nemesis. I did that very early my first play through, I was something like level 5 or something and I really didn't even have my feet wet yet. I was still kind of linear playing and I fought him, I swear, probably 30 times... each time thinking "okay, now this is what I'll try"

I slept on it, thought about what tactics to use and tried again the next day...

eventually I settled on the "run really fast" tactic.

I have never beaten him with three play throughs. I just run away and fast travel every other time I have to go. After the first two day whooping he gave me he has earned my respect as the winner of the Samuel L. Jackson Baddest Mutha in the Game Award.

Giants arent typically difficult. But a strange thing happened to me today that never happened. I got hit by a giant. 250 hours of playtime and this must have been the first time I was ever hit by a giant. I giggled so hard I had to set the game aside and go in the other room to control myself. I was still going UP when the game restarted. I hadn't even begun my decent yet!

Falmer Shadowmasters. I literally scream out loud when I see one, accompanied with about 5-6 more leveled Falmer. I try to fight them, die, reload, hide behind a tent and let my follower do it, see my follower on the ground, go mad and start hitting them, die again.

It depends on your level, the most frighten encounter i had was on level 14 or 15 when i was crawling through the frostglow abyss with my nordic warrior.. chaurus everywhere on the roof, on the walls and on the ground spiting at me with there poison but i managed to kill them and moved deeper into the dungeon till i jumped right into a large cavern and it was dark so i couldn't see the cavern filled with chaurus and one chaurus reaper till it was to late, 1 min later i was dead even with 30 health potions there was nothing i could do, so i reloaded and prepared myself before i entered the cavern again but the result was the same... dead within a minute. I've never ever visited that location again not with this character or any other character i played. It's the most frightening place in skyrim imo.

Yeah I haven't face Krosis yet but am not looking forward to it at all, as my mage tends to rely on his summons to distract the enemy while he pummels them with spells. Does Krosis hit hard in melee, or hit at all in melee? Thinking of going the route of summoned weapons to melee him to death...

BTW, on a side note, does anyone know if the Sanguine Rose ever runs out of charges? Those summoned Dremora come in quite handy....

Yes, Sanguine must be recharged. I estimate that it has 5-6 charges built in.

I'm playing archer/dual-wield/assassin on Master. I'm level 56 after 250+ hours on the same playthrough. My toughest fight by far (probably two dozen reloads) was the Pyromancer in Morvunskr at the end of the Sanguine/drinking contest Daedric quest. I was probably level 15-20, was still using Sven as my tank follower (yeah, that was not smart). That dude had the longest health bar I've ever seen and his fire damage was epic. I eventually eeked out a win by stealth killing every other mage in the entire dungeon and then getting lucky fighting him by having a couple of paralysis poisons work right in a row.

Almost all Draugr at this point are gravy because I one shot them in melee (or ranged for the non-deathlords) and it only really gets ugly when they detect me. But even then, summon Sanguine, summon spectral assassin, pull out an undead fear causing bow and it just turns into a crazy chicken hunt.

I suspect that my mage or warrior playthrough will be substantially different as I will not emphasize stealth and therefore will have to be able to stand up like a big boy in combat rather than skewering mobs while they are laying in their wall hole in a crypt.

When I went into Liar's Retreat at lvl 45 or so, there were 4 (!) of them in the first room alone, along with 2 Gloomlurkers. That place svckS. I fought one 1v1 in the Temple of Xrib and it cut over 200 hp off of me in 4 swipes, and I had an armor rating of 350 or so. Those things are monsters.
