Ulfric Stormcloak is NOT contemptible

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:29 am

Ulfric is tearing Skyrim asunder because the Thalmor knew exactly how to manipulate him into doing so. The Thalmor said "Jump" and Ulfric did just that.

Ulfric is doing what he thinks is good for skyrim. The empire has done nothing but to sign away peoples rights to freely worship Talos in their own country over to a group of elves who thinks that man cannot be upgraded to god hood after he die. It is the empire's fault for the thalmor problem in Skyrim. The empire makes the laws and the thalmor is there to enforce it.

And Ulfric DID cause Alduin's return in a way: he made Skyrim "sundered, kingless, bleeding", fulfilling the last part of the Alduin prophecy.

No Ulfric did not cause Alduin's return. Where do you get this notion from? Alduin returned because he could scent the Dragonborns presence. Do you honestly believe for a moment that Alduin wants anything to do with Ulfric? Alduin probably used something similar to a Aura Whisper shout to locate the Dragonborn. The Dragonborn was born with a dragon's soul (or dragon blood) so I'm pretty sure Alduin knew the difference between your character and Ulfric.

The thing about the Stormcloaks' grievance I don't get is this: The Thalmor are the root cause of Skyrim's predicament... so the Stormcloaks blame the Empire? What kind of logic is that? Exactly the kind of logic the Thalmor were hoping for.

It's quite simple to understand. Right after the empire signed the treaty to ban the worship of Talos gave the Thalmor the authority to go to Skyrim to enforce the ban of talos. Many of the nords (Including the 2 nords, Ulfric and Galmar who once fought for the empire now is fighting against them) do not respect Emperor Titus Mede II simply for that reason alone.

What do you want me to provide evidence for? If you expect me to provide videos then I expect people who are bashing Ulfric to do the same. An addition can you provide evidence (No wikia crap either, RAW screenshots, video or Skyrim Ebook recommendations) proving that what I am saying is wrong? It's not fair that I have to do all of the research

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A_5kBJduIg - Ulfric sounds like hes legitimately cares for the people in Skyrim. While Galmar encourages him with violence by taking them all out like what he did with King Toygg Ulfric tries to prevent it at all cost, if necessary.

Ulfric's war is killing more Nords than the Judicators hunting Talo worshipers. He weakens the Empire and he weakens Skyrim against a far greater threat. If he wants free worship of Talos the only way that can be truly accomplished is to help rebuild the Legion and crush the Thalmor. Ever notice that with few exceptions the Imperial army is made up of Nords? Its because half of skyrim still supports the Empire.

He's a scum bag because he refuses the moot. He claims to be all about ancient Nord traditions but when the other Jarls call for a moot whats his responce. "Damn the moot." If he actually respected Nord tradition he'd answer the call for the moot instead of planning the invasion of a neutral hold. Balgruuf the Greater is perfectly willing to settle his dispute with Ulfric in the old way and spare the lives of many men and women but Ulfric sends his Stormcloaks instead. I guess Ulfric is confident in killing a boy but not a man.

Ulfric is a scumbag because by HIS DECREE(and this is said in-game) the Argonians aren't allowed to live inside the city.

Ulfric svcks! Tulius svcks but Tamriel is better off under Imperial rule, not some fool who thinks he knows how to run a country just because he says so. He kills a king and supposedly wants to replace him. He's a child enforcer!

And explain why he is a racist? He allows Altmers (Thalmar race mind you) to own properly and stores in his city and he allows a dark elf who employes a female nord to own a farm and home outside of windhelm. Yeah hes a racist alright.

But yet he prefers division of the races instead of unity, you do the math of why he's racist!

Wouldn't personaly dueling Balgruuf the Greater over Whiterun be less costly then sending an army to invade a neutral hold? Galmar's method is less costly then Ulfric's.

I've spent large sums of time conducting research about racism and slavery in America back in school years, and was given a high grade for it. So far I can't see Ulfric as being a racist when he allows Altmers to own property and homes in his city (if he was a true racist wouldn't he reserve it for the nords only?!??!) along with allowing a dark elf to have his own farm with a female nord that works for him.

Alright, let's start with your most outrageous claim...
The Thalmor only began enforcing the Talos ban after the Markarth Incident. Before that, the Empire turned a blind eye to any Nord caught worshipping Talos, however they did encourage them not to attract too much attention so that the Thalmor wouldn't find out. When the Forsworn took Markarth, however, Igmund asked Ulfric to help him retake it. Ulfric promised to do so in exchange for free Talos worship, and Igmund accepted his offer. However, after Ulfric took back Markarth the Thalmor caught wind of Igmund's offer. The Thalmor threatened to go to war against the Empire if the man responsible wasn't incarcerated. Igmund, being the slimy bastard he is, fingered Ulfric and let him take the fall. After this whole debacle, the Thalmor decided that the Empire's enforcement of the Talos ban was unsatisfactory, and so set about enforcing it themselves. The Thalmor's presence is Skyrim was not a result of the treaty negotiated at the end of the war by the Empire, but by Igmund's incompetence and Ulfric's stubborn pride.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Igmund This has information on Igmund's role in the Markarth incident.

http://www.imperial-library.info/content/great-war This wonderful book covers pretty much everything about the Great War and its consequences. On the section concerning the White Gold Concordat, it never states that it allowed the Thalmor to enforce the Talos ban.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Thalmor_Dossier:_Ulfric_Stormcloak Ulfric's dossier also mentions how the Markarth Incident benefitted the Thalmor.

Everyone always brings up how Altmers are treated decently ITS MEANINGLESS CRAP!. Just because the High Elves aren't treated like dirt doesn't mean other races aren't treated as underclass citizens.

By Ulfric's decree the Argonians aren't allowed to live inside the city.(in-game text). How is that not racist? his decree says Argonians must live outside the city. Also the dark elves aren't allowed to live outside the Slum even the guy who owns his own farm has his house in the slum. Its stated in-game that the dark elves aren't allowed to live outside the slum in Windhelm. Thats racists. Ignoring bandits when they prey on Dunmer or Khajitt but jumping into action when they attack nords is racist.

During the middle ages a Jewishman could become successful in business but in many cities they were confined to the jewish quarter a slum. No matter how successful they happened to be. Jewish Quarter... Grey Quarter... oh my could there be some symbolisim there.

Why do you say Altmer when describing the people of Alinor/Summurset Isle, but say Dark Elf when describing the people of Morrowind? What do you call the people of Valenwood? Bosmer or Wood Elf?

If only we could just kill them both and get both the awesome armor and the awesome coat.
If i was able to lead the stormcloaks after the death of Ulfric (which is not because of me, really :bunny:) i would have made the stormcloaks look like the true sons and daughters of skyrim by helping all citizens, not just the nords.

Ofcourse, that is not possible so i will have to continue rping that my character wants to convince Ulfric that this is the best way for both the stormcloaks and the rest of skyrim.

racism is defined as: " racial http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/prejudice%5B1%5D or discrimination"( source: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racism)

That fits Ulfric's disposition pretty well. As stated before he does not let Argonians inside the city gates and Dunmer are confined to the Grey quarters.

There is also the possibility that he is a Thalmor Spy. (source: http://www.imperial-library.info/content/thalmor-dossier-ulfric-stormcloak)

I've just started my first stormcloak character. I've put 500+ hours across multiple characters, but never sided with the stormcloaks. I'm only in Riverwood right now, but... the game seems to heavily favor the stormcloaks. Once you reach Riverwood, if you're with Hadvar, he barely says anything and before you know it, you're on your way. Ralof has a lot more to say, and is much more believable as a character, than Hadvar. It really seems like the game pushes you at every opportunity to join the Stormcloaks.

So what you're telling me is that the empire has no backbone and gave in to the war threats that the thalmor spilled out if the man (Igmund) that was responsible for free worship of talos wasn't arrested after the Markarth incident?

I'm surprise to see that Ulfric didn't have Igmund meet the headmans axe for doing what he did after the civil war.

That pretty much describes everyone including the thalmor in skyrim. So Racism is VERY common in skyrim according to Merriam Webster. Wouldn't you quite agree with me? High King Torygg refuse to let Argonians in solitude back when he was alive.. so....

Oh and the dunmers can travel anywhere they want. Their not confined to the Grey quaters. Their lucky to have a place to sleep and conduct business. They're treated with so much more respect then the war veterans who are left with having to beg on the streets.
