Unofficial Minecraft Thread #80

I'd like to be untraceable on the dynmap. how would I get it to think that I'm underground? I've already put dirt and trees on my roof and coated the inside roof with stone, and my home is invisible, but I'm still showing up. Is there a specific height I have to be at to be considered underground?
Ehhh, I believe LEGO said that you need to be something like 30 blocks underground+ for it to be 'underground'. From what I seem to understand, it works like a 'satellite viewer'.

You only show up if you are either above y62 or exposed to the sky.

Y:62? That doesn't leave much room to hide a home to hide in, I don't think.

Depending on the structure of the house, the dynmap might be assuming that you are at the entrance of a cave. When I had my 3x3 piston door, I would appear if it was open, and disappear when it closed.

62 blocks is a ton of room in which to place a house. Then the real fun comes with how you build the entrance-exit mechanism. For the record, my vote goes with the high-dive into shallow water approach as it's a more rustic throwback to Minecraft's roots, though of course the elevator mod provides an elegant method too.

Don't put too much time into it, I'll make it a top priority to get /dynmap hide working. No one told me it wasn't working.

I'd imagine only America would want the hide version of that, everyone else would want show.

That's not true, it's been brought up a good couple of weeks that the /dynmap hide feature broke sometime around when we stopped using Tekkit I believe? Anywho, I think you just didn't pay attention. :frog:

I think I did, whether it was to Tank, Bone or the general populace I dunno.

For some reason when I walk through town I end up hidden at random area, even when complete exposed to the sky.

It's a bug with the slabs and stairs. Dynmap is having trouble with partial and transparent blocks.

Plenty of bugs going around these days then

Tex you should make you home out of slabs if they can cause the "hidden" stats

I've been using a mod called TerraFirmaCraft for the past few days which is a total minecraft overhaul; re does the stone generation, biomes, ores, trees. Very very difficult. I suggest trying it.

I would have posted that, but I was busy troubleshooting a CNC machine.

Anyway...
http://www.mojang.com/2012/04/minecraft-snapshot-12w16a/
  • Added a demo mode for non-premium users (won’t be available until we do a full update)
  • Added bonus chest option to create world screen
  • Added option to enable single-player commands to create world screen
  • Updated language files
  • Bug fixing and tweaks

So, a built-in demo to replace the Beta 1.3 version made for PCGamer, starter items, and SPC.

Oh wow. I made a pagoda type thing on the server, but it was really just an experiment with a curved roof.

Two.

It was really just a pared down version of my earlier http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr212/Qeros/mc1.png, which made heavy use of multiple eaves, but squarer and with a pointy roof.
