Unofficial Minecraft Thread 41

Is there a way to keep Minecraft running without it being "selected"? Using the finite water mod, I wanna be able to let the pump(s) run and do other things on my computer. As of now, if I click on anything else, it pauses the game.

Select the inventory. That usually keeps things going.

Mining around the area of the town is insane , branch mining is everywhere. Lag is still there too but I can handle it for a bit.

Yeah, I anticipated that happening so I made a little mining hut well outside of town.

Hey, the welcome message needs to be changed. It still tells people to go to the Aulis town hall, which, as most of you know, no longer exists.

I know, isn't it awesome?

Say, who built that floating platform above the Nether Portal? And how did you get up there for that matter..

This post is directed towards Xkira.

I don't know why you love to torture me with your tower, but could you please stop? You've destroyed any beauty the area had before you built that tower.

Also Webster, why are you destroying all the mountains? They added character to the area.

Pics of what I'm ranting about:

A couple things xKira1. Your tunnels are ridiculous. I ran into them while mining under... GReywood? Whatever I choose to name it in the future.2. My fort and your house are now linked by tunnels, so feel free to pop into my caves.3. That's alot of Obsidian....4. Did I mention that these tunnels of yours are HUGE?!5. Check the chest on the top floor of your hotel tower. There's a little gift in there for you for building my walls for me.

I got the diamonds, ty. I was wondering who put them in there. And yeah, my tunnels are huge and they connect to Chaos cavern and Meteor cavern, which are both gigantic.

Kira seems to enjoy having a massive maze of tunnels running underground. It wasnt until I looked around myself on our old map that I realised how massive his tunnel system was. Either Kira was helped by an army of mole people or he had a few too many diamond picks for his own good.

well on that map we could repair out items by dropping them. I do enjoy my underground labyrinths.

Why did I destroy the mountains? Because they blocked my view of the sea. No more, no less. I have my home built into the side of one of those mountains, and previously the valley that it looked out on was nothing but a shallow little dip, with little to see. So I knocked out the mountain just across from it, to let me see the ocean from where I was, and to allow Key above me to do the same. After I did that, I decided to knock down the mountains to either side of it as well, to spread the valley out and make a wide view of the sea and the landscape beyond it for viewing. I intend, eventually, to turn the place into a scenic valley replete with waterfalls cascading down into a sparkling man-made lake, replete with trees surrounding it and flowers spread out as far as they eye can see. For now, it's a work in progress.

As for the 'character' of the land, I could care less. I'm not really a mountain person, I prefer wide open valleys flanked by sheer cliffs and booming with plant life. So that's precisely what I am creating around my own little home.

I just tried placing a torch on top of a bookcase. The game won't let me do this as apparently I don't have 'permission to read' what does this mean?

You can write in bookcases now. I have no idea how to do it, but it is possible.

The mod is messed up, so it's not possible right now.

So thats why I couldn't stack bookcases int he National Library without circumventing the mods' tantrums. (I placed dirt on the floor and built up and across. I then removed one dirt and placed the bookshelves on the side of the dirt instead of on top of the bookcase then continued this method across the top of the bottom row.)
