I had to move my Xbox downstairs. Don't get all upset. I'll be on in like 5 minutes to give you your gunpowder.

It's ok, I'm very attached to my explosives

Sorry man, I needed glass and you chest was outside your house and didn't have a lock so I thought it was a public chest >_<

I live in the middle of an ocean, who's going to just wander over expecting a conveniency? :cryvaultboy:

Seriously though, it's not as bad, last night I was pissed it went missing, but eh, Kira kindly redid my order I paid for. But in hindsight, when a person lives in an underwater home, and theres a chest of glass, it's best to ask to use the glass first.

Well he was nice enough to give us powered rails before he fixed it. I like the powered rails better anyways.

Agree, power rails are great. If only I could find enough gold i'd build that 10km track i need to connect all my houses.

10km! There is something called a nether you know. Why don't you build it down there?

I'm confused...why build rails in the nether?

For portals? What about all the scenery?!

I thought it was 10, anywho, it'll take you a lot less iron. Since it'll only have to be 1kmish long, instead of the 10.
During my 1km track, it costs me about 6 iron stacks for the 1km. That 10km would cost you 60 stacks of iron. That's ALOT of iron, or atleast it is for me.

I love to ride rails and see the scenery, but that's more of a luxury than a legitimate form of transportation. Nether portals are dozens of times faster if you're traveling long distances, and are much much much easier to build.

But you can always build rails in the nether to reach the really distant gates, making travel so fast it feels like cheating. :P

Edit: Erm, dozens of times faster, eight times faster, whatever. :spotted owl:

New project: Train through the nether, but with dirt, grass and rivers all around to make it seem like its above ground.

You'd need a mod to help out with that, by design, water is unplacable in Nether.

Well put. :)

However, I'm having some serious issues with the Nether at the moment. Yesterday I was leaving a nether portal and my game crashed. When I restarted it, I had no items and I was in the middle of a random lake.

I fear its my map size..its way too big.

*You stumble upon an old blood stained letter by the beach, it's in old Dwarven script. They haven't been seen since the sundering*

Spoiler
Day 145 Year - 12 AS
Dwarven scouts have been searching far afield for a suitable home, but progress has been halted by frequent creeper attacks. The creepy bastards just pop out of nowhere, we're losing a lot of good dwarves out there. That crazy son ufa [censored] Gamgee suggested we build some sort of platform on water. No wonder why he got us all exiled, talking crazy speak.

Day 175 - 12AS
It's been an entire month and none of our scouts have come back. These damned cave's we've been holding up in are no good to us. Poor in ore, and even worse in Diamond. We must keep-- *the rest of the entry is illegible, dry blood covers it*

Day 245 - 12AS
[censored] crazy bastard managed to convince us. Tomorrow we'll use our remaining stone and what we can mine with these blasted wooden picks to construct an off shore platform. It's no mountain, but it is safe.

Day 300 - 12AS
In the middle of *more blood splatter* stupid bastard used stone. *more blood* lost the whole platform, told him to use wood next time.

Day 365 - 12AS
The New Year, woooo... nothing to celebrate as we break our backs slashing a forest down. We're not made for this kind of field work. Boor Bofor couldn't outrun the tree, it was a *blood splatter* [censored] didn't even attend his funeral.

*the log continues on for quite some time, but a coating of blood and dirt has blocked much of the remaining entries*

Day 60 - 13AS
Gamgee has been gone for months, probably dead. Last thing our oh so great leader told us was he had a new way to save us.

Day 160 - 13AS
Gamgee managed to crawl his way back to us, insane. Said he had been digging out at the ocean, and why he knows no dwarf ever has or ever will again. “The rig is out there” is all he could repeat before *more blood covers the rest of this entry*

Day 170 - 13AS
We've found this platform he spoke of. Bastard has been hiding it on us, too bad we can't get any answers out of him. He went insane in the middle of the night after his night terrors. Bit some of my guards ears off, before trying to drop his trou *blood stain * said the stains wouldn't come out for weeks. Guards have been traumatized, but at least our oh so great leader is gone. I'm giving the order to move us to our new home.

Day 180 - 13AS
Ah, life is good here. We’ve started to replant the forest we had to cut down to survive. Though the rig is really odd, it seems to press in on you. Haha, Yognr finally has something to do, I’m having him place a picture of our http://imageshack.us/f/840/ournewhome1.png/ in these records. This place is a little creepy, but saved all of our lives. Good riddance to Gamgee.

Day 191 - 13AS
Going on a scouting trip with Yognr, he keeps going on about a bad feeling. Insisted he draw our home before http://imageshack.us/f/706/leavinghomefortheevenin.png/. Will be good to get out of the rig, which we’ve finally all decided to call Crows Maw.

Day 191 - 13AS - Night
[censored] Yognir went ballistic and left me in the middle of the night. Our small camp atop a cliff was already dangerous, but he just left on his watch. The tracks lead home, and he’s running. I have to go after him. I'll have some stern words for him once I catch up to him. I’ll need to risk night travel to catch him, now I have a bad feeling.

*blood smear* Day 191 *blood smear* ours later
Yognir went nuts, I can't believe it, seen it with my own eyes. The rig... someone has taken down all of the lights. There's red stone smeared on it and lit in the shape of a face. I've found some more pictures Yognir has http://imageshack.us/f/821/rushinghomethatnight3.png/. The last one is him entering the rig, much like I'm going to be doing. I fear for their lives, but I need to get my wife and kids. Outside the population count sign has been slashed over with blood and a red 0 has been written beside it, also in blood. Yognir's work?

I enclose the last of the drawings, and leave them in a bottle that someday someo- *blood smears; The rest of the log seems to have been torn away, several drawings are enclosed of the so called demon house.*

I highly doubt it lag isn't supposed to start till 10 million blocks fro
spawn you probably travelled 11, 000. The nether has always been buggy with crashes and odd stuff. Hell, at first if you died down there it would create a portal on the surface.
And am I missing a reference Gamgee?

Well, I have opened up a Nether Portal and made it safe to spawn in at the spawn town (at the expense of a Diamond Pick and nearly a entire stack of iron.) Feel free to use the little bridge I have made to start building up a fort in the Nether folks!

As far as I know, only by hacking or inventory editing.

What exactly is it doing?

Also, what (if any) client mods are you running? Texture packs?
