Unplayably laggy on 360 post-patch

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:19 pm

i dont see where people get this bs about it being day 1 from, its 2011 not 2001 we should not have to expect or put up with rubbish like this especially when no1 even has the guts to come forward and say "yes we have a problem were working on it" this is giving me a de ja vu effect from crysis 2 (read there forums 360 version is plagued with lag and texture issues and the mods/devs dont even reply to anything -.-) , this reminds me of how cod2 on 360 was on release (read up about it , unplayable for months but i stuck by it :celebration: )

edit: if you this this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFumqVtqz6U&feature=feedu is day 1 lag then you are greatly mistaken

Well one things for sure the worse the problem the quicker it'll be fixed,or at least thats the logical way of seeing it.

I'm able to play some games without any lag and others with lag but not that bad.. I think some of you are overreacting. Give the people some time to fix the problems. This game is [censored] awesome!

not a single one of us is overreacting. the multiplayer on this game is literally 100% unplayable every single time ive tried it. i paid 60$ to play multiplayer, and i cant even do that. i feel cheated.

dont get me wrong, i think this game has potential, it is just in DIRE need of a patch to fix the EPIC BAD LAG. without this patch, however, i will be returning the game within the next month. i'll return it in 2 weeks if there isnt news of a patch by then. im sick and tired of game developers making terrible games, then not patching them to be better.

patch asap or im out
i got new vegas day one too...
im debating not getting skyrim till way after release now
gamesas, you need to figure your crap out

Bethesda didn't develop it though, granted they shouldn't have published if it wasn't ready but perhaps SD told them it was.

I never had any major issue with New Vegas on release, didn't even freeze. I'm still going to get Skyrim because it will be great.

But yeah, SD need to fix the lag asap, because for a game centred around online play it's not acceptable.

But the game came out yesterday, what do you expect? I'm sure they see there's a problem, so give them some time to resolve the issue. The game comes out and everyone expects any problems to be fixed within 2 hours of it's release..

Fortunately for me, the majority of the games I've joined, I've had no lagging issues.. So I guess you just have horrible luck. I'm sure they will come out with the patch, so clean the sand out of your cooter and give them a few days..

The lag only effects freeplay from my experience. The Campaign has had no problems from my perspective. That might be the cause of the different experiences.

Nope. Online campaign has terrible lag most of the time. I played online campaign all day yesterday and the majority of the matches were unplayable. I'm sure they'll fix it. Great game when it works.

I picked it up yesterday as well, have played through the Challenges to unlock the weapons and customizations then tried to jump into freeplay multiplayer. I've joined games that were already in play with little to no lag but majority of the ones I did joined were terribly laggy. One thing I've noticed is that the majority of the players I'm playing with are bots. That's terrible. I'm not sure if that's because I'm playing as Security and everyone else is playing as Resistance or what, but it's still pretty poor and needs to be balanced out so you play as both.

What do I expect? Same as any other product I buy, for it to work as advertised. It's the biggest crutch the gaming industry has and we all now just accept that on day one or week one or even month one the online just won't work as intended. It's a crock. I did not pay $60 to be a beta tester, I paid to get a finished product.

The game itself is fantastic. I would hate to see it ruined because the biggest component of it is unplayable. It would be nice to see at the very least some kind of acknowledgement from SD that there is something wrong and a fix is on the way. Right now I feel like I'm being left to twist in the wind.

I understand why people are saying "what do we expect from a day 1 release" or "give it time" it's hard hearing negatives about a game you were really excited for and anxiously awaiting. I hated reading the review that were scoring 2 out of 5 or 6 out of 10. Those reviews were totally unfair. And I dont agree with most of the negative reviews.

I am in no way gonna bash this game for the game play. I love the game, I love the whole concept of the gameplay and MP concept of working as a team, I get it, and I like it

But I played last night as I mentioned in this thread in a previous post.
Hoping this morning would be different. First I installed it to my hard drive incase that would make a difference from last night when it wasnt installed and I was experiencing lag.
I woke up at around 8:30am and jumped into a Freeplay MP game. The lag was so horrible, every step you took the game would lag you back across the map.

Basically the game was unplayable. Period.

This is a Wed. morning at 8am, not during peak time hours. Now where's the excuse??
It's not my internet connection either, I have Nat open, and I even tried to play wired straight to my Roadrunner cable modem- no router/no wireless.

So again I'm not bashing this game, alot of us who are experiencing these lag problems are not Brink Haters, we were excited for this game to come out.
We posted in these forums how much we couldnt wait to play. But now we are disappointed because the lag is so horrible it renders the MP part of this game unplayable!

If this cant be fixed I cant see how the MP part of this game can last, and being a game based around the MP experience, it'll ruin this game.

I can understand that the game came out yesterday, so there's bound to be problems, but what bothers me the most is we're being left in the dark. There hasn't been any response from anybody from Splash or Bethesda saying they're working on it. We can "assume" they are, but you shouldn't leave your customers hanging like this. Your PR department should be writing a release or at least a statement addressing this situation within the first day. This alone makes me want my money back.

Why did I pay full price for a game that doesn't work out of the box? Will we be seeing compensation for a broken product? I put trust into game developing companies to give me value for my money, which I'm not seeing in-game, on this forum or when dealing with customer service.

Was excited about this title as the team gameplay mechanic is right up my alley, but the lag every 3 seconds that makes me stand still and not be ablet o do anything and rubber banding lag is turning me off this game fast.. You may say P2P multiplayer is going to be problematic.. well Blackops works fine, Crysis 2 works fine... Its something to do with this game period. Not the people chosen as host.. Until this gets fixed you can expect lots of bad reviews and upset people on the 360.

The more and more I play this game, the more and more it becomes garbage. I thought the graphical issues were bad (weird blur, non-loading textures etc.), however that's the least of my worries now. I just attempted to play online and wow. I've never experienced lag on the scale experienced in Brink.

I've had 1 good match in a 2 hour period of playtime. The networking needs to be fixed (and the graphical issues) or this game is going to bomb. On the console versions anyway, especially the Xbox 360. I feel like I'm playing a $20 PS2 game, not a $60 current/next-gen game.

I've heard no word from Splash Damage on the matter of a patch to fix (or try...again) graphical issues or networking problems (online play).

They better, or I'll never (ever!) buy a Splash Damage product again.

I'm pretty sure I will be trading this game in next week to get L.A Noire or Dirt 3 the week after. Thanks for wasting my money and proving hype sells games.

I'm highly considering doing the same. Trading in Brink for L.A. Noire.

I'd personally love some feedback other than "Hey we released a day one patch for Xbox360 that fixed all the problems!" I want some confirmation that this game will be supported on the Xbox360 platform because I'm feeling worried that if you felt the game was OK to ship in the state it currently is I have a feeling the platform is low on your priority list. This game has been frustrating because underneath the lag and utter lack of a party system/ability to easily play with friends there is a awesome game.

I don't care about blurry graphics but get the netcode sorted out and figure out some sort of part system as soon as possible. Then figure out the graphical problems.

Yeah, I'm feeling for ya mate. I've been hearing a total contrast with this, some people are playing fine whilst others are lagging as hell.

All I can say is I hope it gets better for ya soon, it'll kill me if it happens to me.

Several things can affect connection. One problem could be a person who has a lame connection. Another one could be the NAT setting for your network. The MTU also plays a factor. My suggestion is to check the stats screen and kick the person with the worst connection, that should fix your game.

I have never played a game that lagged this badly, even on the PS2's Network Adapter. I work at GameStop, and I cannot in good conscience sell this game to anyone with this kind of malfunction. I can't believe the unplayability of the online multiplayer.

This game would be great if it didn't have that problem. It is a lot of fun, but all the good does not outweigh the bad in this case. The Customization, SMART, and Gameplay are awesome, but they can't expect us to be happy with a faulty game that didn't live up to their promise of a "Seamless Single/Multiplayer Experience".

All I know is, if it can be fixed, they should work as hard as they can to do it if they don't want to get a rep for being the laggiest game ever.

All they need to do is tell us they're doing something about it and people, myself definitely included, can stop freaking. Are they going to pull a Sony move and wait a few days before taking responsibility or even take a month to develop a simple patch? Why not roll back the patch. I've read lots of comments saying the game was stable before yesterday's patch.
