Unplayably laggy on 360 post-patch

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:48 pm

DL'd the patch, and the lag is atrocious. I'm walking into walls and haven't had more than 5 seconds of continuous gameplay without game-breaking lagginess. I've spent the last hour with the screen skipping, or being frozen in place, or finding myself behind cover one second and unexplainably out of cover and 3 feet to my right a second later. I tried a dozen different games, hoping at first it was just a bad host. I bought this game for the multiplayer and can't even play it.

Yeah, I'm feeling for ya mate. I've been hearing a total contrast with this, some people are playing fine whilst others are lagging as hell.

All I can say is I hope it gets better for ya soon, it'll kill me if it happens to me.

This could effect me renting it or buying it. Anyone else having these issues on 360?

I'm about to go pick up the 360 version. Did the patch fix the texture issues?

Lagging like crazy on online modes. I played 5 games and all them lag me and freeze me. Really pissed off as I bought Black Ops on the release day and more people were playing this and no lagging.

I hope they fix this as my stats are reflecting of this lag as I'm getting killed and can't move.

Also where is this logon to see online stats like it says in the game. I can't find it to enter the code.

It's peer-2-peer. The game you play in will only be as good as the host's connection. Lag will work the same way it works in most games on Xbox.

Any P2P mulitplayer is going to have some laggy matches, some perfectly fine matches, and some unplayable matches. Its just the nature of the beast, and everyone always has vastly different experiences with it. All you can really do is make sure your connection is as strong as it can be and drop out of lagfest matches.

Not good to hear, this is one thing that would stop me buying this game, OH it's been dispatched already. Hopefully by Thursday/Friday a miracle occurs.

Yes, but how often do you have 4 unplayables in a row? Something's up.

Hopefully Multiplayer will become more stable after a few weeks. Because as of now, their is a lot of different things effecting how fun the game can be. Late Texture Renderings all over the map, and Super Lag P2P Hosts that shouldn't be as Laggy as they are becoming. This game is amazing! It just needs to become more stable with its network.

Your alone in that department then, only time a game lags (sometimes) is when i play early hours of the morning (peak US time) Don't get me wrong i do come across laggy rooms, but that's what host migration is for.

This game needs dedicated servers for the 360. We already pay $10 more than PC users and they get dedicated servers. My next door neighbor can play fine on PC but all i do is lag till i get frustrated and turn off my system.

The netcode is absolutely atrocious.

Halo for example has lag, but 99% of the time its completely hidden from the user. A 400 ms ping will show some odd deaths but you can run around playing perfectly fine. Here it seems like a mediocre host and you warp around lagging everywhere. For a multiplayer only game its freaking shameful, and I do have good internet.

I do like the game when i get into a lag free game htough.
