I want more Interesting things as DLC.

Its actually not farfetched, I can definitely hear bethesda saying go on to xbox live today and download dawnguard.
I could see them doing it as well, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much. At least I know I can test out what it's like before deciding whether to get it for PC.

So all these months waiting for some fresh content and all we get is a plagiarised version of the Daywatch story? And it's only available for x-box? And aren't we sick of damn vampires dominating contemporary fantasy fiction already?

Jeez...what an anticlimix!

How not true? It may become available on other platforms at a later date, but until then it will be an x-box exclusive

I hope there will be more spells. Like Open lock(why wasn't this included in the first place?!), and maybe levitation.

With a title like Dawn Guard, I was hoping for something that involved Meridia in some way. You know, Dawnbreaker, Dawn Guard, Daedric prince of life, light, etc. See the connection? There's still some potential for it. Maybe the Dawn Guard worship Meridia. I don't know, maybe I like the idea of hobnobbing with daedric princes in expansions. I got to do that in Bloodmoon. Hell, I became a daedric prince in Shivering Isles. Just my opinion.

This is only the first DLC so who knows what will come next.

I have to say that at least this DLC is better than horse armor as a first DLC release...

What I wonder is whether the Dawnguard questline takes place durring the Skyrim main Questline, or after.

I personally would like to see DLC quests that follow after the main quest and require its completion before opening up. That way, there is at least a sense of forward momentum with our gameplay as new material comes out.

Idk, the DLC could be cool, it shows some potential, and I like how we've got crossbows coming along. As for the dislikes toward vampires and werewolves...all I'm gonna say is Twilight, as much as I want to go on a rant, I wont, but the emphasis and obsession with these books/movies has now flooded the world of entertainment. I don't have a problem with them, but my original reaction to Skyrim vampires/werewolves was "Oh, wow, okay? The only useful thing is the werewolf's ability to become immune to disease," which is the only reason why I am a werewolf in the game. I couldn't care for anything else. Even Oblivion vampires got old, but this isn't Oblivion we're talking about. But who knows whats coming, Bethesda could pull something out their rear or out of a magicians hat, it could be awful, or great.

As for my hopes for any future DLC, maybe something that has to do with the Thalmor declaring war against Skyrim again? I assume everyone knows this, but just in case, if you play the civil war story in favor of the Stormcloaks, all the Thanes and their Kings are based in Solitude in the basemant of the castle. I assume something similar if you were to side the with Empire at Windhelm, I haven't played it in favor of the Empire yet. But thats just me, I feel like there could be a massive story, loads of content, and even a new in game area wherever the Thalmor are located? Like maybe something along the lines of the Thalmor launching a campaign against Skyrim (whether crushing any resistance after completing the Empire's side of the civil war, or an attempt to take Skyrim back if you were to side with the Stormcloaks), then after the Thalmor attack you could either retaliate or side with the Thalmor. It could be interesting DLC with a lot of content. But as I said, thats just what I would like to see.

Any [censored] who decide to be rude and blindly bash this with absolutely no main point to their argument, can shove their arrogance where the sun doesn't shine! Have a good day :)

Right....so, currently it's only available on x-box. When we say that X "IS" Y then we're talking present tense. If X will become Y in the future but has not yet become Y, then "WILL BE" would be the appropriate expression. I said that the DLC "IS" only available on x-box, which is true, regardless of whether it WILL BE remaining an x-box exclusive or not.

blocking out the sun seem pretty intense, Might have something to do with dragging magnus back down to nirn and breaking him into earthbones. Anyway the dlc is where all the good lore bits really come in, if its like ob.

This is slightly offtopic, but I'd want a dlc that focuses on the war, maybe tribunal redux, an epic five-way battle between the forsworn, stormcloaks, imperials, alkir, and thalmor. That would be an interesting dlc.

I agree.. I would love to walk a desert in Hammerfell or go to the biggest city in Tamriel <(which is in High Rock) ~ But instead we get some DLC with content on the scale of that of Fallout 3 ~ New Vegas.. Or maybe a gate to a Realm..

i wan't a dlc that explores the great mythology of the Tes fiction.
But that would destroy the mystical wonder around it. Not only would it suddenly make everything very defined, but it would also make it black and white, and when they wrote future things they would have to be a lot more stingy about it.

I can easily see why they would avoid doing that. I think this is an amazing DLC and that they should stick with awesome stuff like this.

You're already denouncing it because it's 'too small'? Really? We know nothing about it. Beth said this time they were making proper expansions, no more tiny DLC. And all we know is the basic concept, and a few minor things from the trailer. We don't know where it is, or how big of a place, or anything like that.

This thread was not to start a flame bait to the mod who stated such earlier, i am not a troll which i feel you where implying , i am just showing my dis contempt towards more cliche Story. My point is Tes created a huge unique fictional background with plenty of more non cliched area's to choose from at the end of the day it is indeed only my opinion but i would like my dis contempt and opinion to be heard and i am open to the people who disagree with me as that is their opinion. I see quite a few posters agree with my opinion and thank you to both sides for sharing your opinions it has been great reading your interesting posts.

I have wanted to have a deeper look at vampires for a while I just hope that's not all it is, I want a proper expansion pack with everything that entails, I woulf like to have my old spells and spell creation added into Dawnguard and some other things if that the case great.

I would not like to see any necromancer related DLC or expansion in any way that was covered in Oblivion already for crying out load, and I detest necromancers in this game and their ash piles everywhere, and no the patch did not properly fix all ash piles from clearing up.

I'm a bit surprised by the theme (vampires) and the generally darker tone of this trailer as I don't feel it is very "Elder Scrollsy" but I'm still excited about what I saw.

Hopefully aside from the vampire upgrade we'll get new weapons, armour, animations, enemies, items, spells, etc. And going by the trailer then we will indeed have these things. And just imagine what the modders will be able to do with the new content.

Plus I'm looking forward to slaughtering those filthy vampires to extinction.

I'm not saying Vampires aren't cool but i would really like a Dlc that explores Things like Lorkhan/Shor or the Dwemer .
Vampires just seem very cliche and i never liked their involvement in Oblivion. I liked them in Morrowind However.
But really if speculation about the second DLC Heartfire is true it will involve Necromancy my god NO! i wan't a dlc that explores the great mythology of the Tes fiction.
IMO, making vampires a more main theme for Skyrim (or TES) was a great move. For years vampires have been awful to play as and are similar to a spellsword. They seemed very blunt and needed a larger part in the game and I disagree that they are cliché. Exploring the Mythology of Skyrim, the Dwemer, Lorkhan, or Shor just sounds terribly boring. I hate quests that are only focused on discovering things from the past because it just seems repetitive (As in a back and forth and back and forth kind of quest). I just want to get them over with as soon as possible because it gets boring and really has no replay value (Kind of like playing the intro of a game 30+ times). I prefer more action packed and dramatic kind of storys.

It is stupid ass comments like this that should get people banned. People do not want vampire and werewolf stuff in TES because of Twilight I can guarantee you that. These two things have been in the games for about 15 years, and last time I checked that was before Twilight came out.
