Everyt time something is released, there will be disappointed people. You pulled the short straw this time  Next time, maybe you get what you want.

Idk, the DLC could be cool, it shows some potential, and I like how we've got crossbows coming along. As for the dislikes toward vampires and werewolves...all I'm gonna say is Twilight, as much as I want to go on a rant, I wont, but the emphasis and obsession with these books/movies has now flooded the world of entertainment.

This is slightly offtopic, but I'd want a dlc that focuses on the war, maybe tribunal redux, an epic five-way battle between the forsworn, stormcloaks, imperials, alkir, and thalmor. That would be an interesting dlc.
Exactly. Good for those who love vampires but as for the rest? Considering the hero of the game is Dragonborn there would be plenty of situations tied to the current political state of Tamriel in which he would fit. I hoped Bethesda would have capitalized on this.

As for the vampires, I wish they went Oblivion route; I really liked the tragic figure of count Hassildor. Instead we get another villain overlord who want to curse the world.

I hope Betehsda, with the next DLC, will at least listen to those asking to go back to Morrowind and re-introduce spears. At least we'll see some more universally loved themed by the fan base.

Presenting his criticism as intrinsic was insulting to me. And your spelling is also insulting to me. Don't you have the respect for your fellow human to communicate accurately and with clarity?

Lol. Zing!

Cliche? Ha, these kids, man. Sure, dragons were not cliche at all. And they were the main theme of Skyrim.

Exactly. Nor was Ulfric Stormcloak's speech about how he fights for the widow, the orphan, the men he dragged from the battlefield that gurgled up the names of their family members with globs of blood before choking on it, yadda, yadda, yadda. Nevermind the fact that just about EVERY video game with a story to tell can be classified as cliche. If cliche makes for a bad game, then the industry would be dead and gone by now.

I'm not saying Vampires aren't cool but i would really like a Dlc that explores Things like Lorkhan/Shor or the Dwemer .
Vampires just seem very cliche and i never liked their involvement in Oblivion. I liked them in Morrowind However.
But really if speculation about the second DLC Heartfire is true it will involve Necromancy my god NO! i wan't a dlc that explores the great mythology of the Tes fiction.

I've never really liked vampires, zombies, etc. When a movie or video game is released with its focus on the undead, it's a sure bet that I'm never going to give it my custom. However, I'm not going to lie... I'm going to purchase this DLC just because it will add more content to a game that I've been addicted to since Christmas.

This thread was not to start a flame bait to the mod who stated such earlier, i am not a troll which i feel you where implying , i am just showing my dis contempt towards more cliche Story. My point is Tes created a huge unique fictional background with plenty of more non cliched area's to choose from at the end of the day it is indeed only my opinion but i would like my dis contempt and opinion to be heard and i am open to the people who disagree with me as that is their opinion. I see quite a few posters agree with my opinion and thank you to both sides for sharing your opinions it has been great reading your interesting posts.

Hi irishandargonian! How are you doing? Hope all's well.

You have nothing to apologize for. Remember, you presented your opinion in a civilized fashion, something which can’t be said of all replies. Laugh hard at the knee jerk reaction that so often succeeds any form of criticism, no matter how articulate, polite of constructive. Let’s face it, when all that could be conjured was mirroring your words in some crude wordplay or accusing others of – such a capital sin - misspelling, it becomes clear we’re dealing with an emotional reaction here. Laugh hard at it all, since it’s stand up comedy prime material. Laugh, relax, and don’t take it personally. But by all means, keep posting your views, no matter how dissenting. Some people who feel strongly about cauliflower and love it to death will find incomprehensible others simply don’t like cauliflower. Yes, stand up golden material.

Hi theer the Plebeian. Good to see you're around.

So you’re not attempting to deny the theme in itself is cliché. It just doesn’t worry you that much. I see. There seems to be a misunderstanding as to what a cliché is. Cliché is not the same as archetypical. Cheers mate!

Doesn't everyone want more interesting things as DLC?

You never hear people say "I want the DLC to remove this content!" or "This is too interesting! Bland it up for me please."

Vampires are not cliche, especially in TES considering there isn't even a guild/faction/questline dedicated to them in modern TES.

Also consider swords and sorcery are more cliche than vampires in general. You can't knock vampires without knocking medieval/fantasy.

Also how are vampires more cliche than dwemer, which are basically dwarves/elves? They have unique technology but they still have the same invention race cliche that many lores use.

Also consider the Expansion could expand on the TES vampire lore unlike anything before. And maybe even introduce a new kind of vampire with TES lore ties no explored before. :)

While I disagree with your implied definition of what a cliché is, I think you bring up good points to the table. I'd agree there's a chance Beth mught've taken a fresh approach to the whole theme and come up with an interesting story. For now, I'm not holding my breath, but Beth should be given the benefit of the doubt.

Hey Pres Z, I hope you are doing absolutely mighty fine!

I think that Bethesda adds many things that are indeed known as cliché or generic, but they add their own twists to it.

This is the first time we will get some serious information on the TES vampires. How is this boring? Immortal Blood is currently the only book we know about vampires of Tamriel and it's just a short story(good one though  ). It's about time vampires got time in the spotlight and were actually made fun to play.
