Dishonored looks AMAZING! I really want to see some gameplay so we actually know what the game will provide.

The surprise is work doesn't always coincide with a pre-determined announcement date.

I can't believe they had the nerve to call Kinect Dragon Shouts "big news." 90% of TES fans don't even own Kinect.

The Kinect feature also provides you with the ability to quicksave, quickload, use hot keys and give commands to followers verbally.
And also, by the sounds of it it's going to be free. Why does it matter if you can/are going to use it or not? Don't want it? Can't use it? Then just ignore it ;)

Has someone tried tweeting at Pete to ask if there's anything more to expect from April?

I'd like the kinect feature if it wasn't an extra $150. I don't even want it for the motion. I just want to tell my xbox to turn on. It's a luxury.

But then what happens to the people who play on PC or PS3?

I am not complaining because I could care less, just saying it seems unfair to them since they don't get anything.

I think Pete just ignores anything in his mentions with the words "Skyrim" and "DLC" in it.

There's still time. Remember, Pete also promised a Rage surprise in April and we haven't seen anything yet.

Right. It's awesome for the small minority of TES players (xbox users who already own a kinect). For most people, it's "meh." That's why I'm surprised they announced that they had big news, implying that all TES players had something to look forward to. Misleading. Just a poor way of announcing an awesome (for kinect folk) update.

I'd love to be able to sort the inventory and equip/unequip without fumbling around with the awful UI, but it's not quite worth 150.00.

im willing to bet that xbox numbers over ps3 were inflated by the number of people on ps3 that bought a used copy due to the many ps3 users that returned what was pretty much an unplayable game.
you would be wrong then.

the simple fact is most hardcoe gamers are on xbox, its been that way since it launched. even big exclusives on PS3 have mediocre sales compared to most xbox games. uncharted 2 sold something like 3 million copies??? on xbox skyrim sold 5million iirc,

either way kinect is stupid... also why can't headsets recognize voices :stare:

Finals week for me :/ I'm not gonna have much chance to even watch for DLC.

Bethesda, I gotta say your beginning to worry me. I have money right now ready to throw at you for DLC... But Dark souls comes out for PC soon.

And i'm gonna spend my DLC money on Dark souls if you don't at least give a hint as to when to be watching for DLC. I think many others here feel the same way...

Please, your marketing guys know as well as I do that new stuff is coming out soon and if you don't drop something, anything for us to chew on most of us will have moved on to something else (Like Dark souls, The witcher, Diablo III)

I know fans are going to come back even if DLC comes out 2 years from now, me included... but you will be losing a large portion of possible buyers.

Edit: Now i'm not saying rush the DLC, far from it. If it takes 4 more months to get it right then it takes 4 more months.

I'm just saying give us something to do. Kinect will be interesting for about 10 minutes after it finishes downloading.

Throw us some hype building stuff:

A picture on bethblog of a thalmor intercepted letter to an important future character.
A strange coded message in dragon language or daedric runes.
A picture of a piece of torn map that hints to a new location.
An ambiguous picture of a new enemy or weapon.
An ARG involving QR codes on magazine websites.
Some concept art.
A freaking picture of a flower sitting on the ground...

Seriously you saw what happened last time we speculated on stuff! It keeps us entertained and keeps people from complaining about minor things for the sake of complaining.

In fact take a peak at some of valves marketing tactics... they are absolute hype building masters. Its been 8 years since HL2 came out and they keep feeding us just enough to keep us excited.

While I am sadface about waiting, I feel the Kinect update and the killcams/water visuals is a big enough meal to last me a while.

Yeah, I said it. I like killcams, deal with it.

This as well. As soon as DLC is announced no one is going to remember the kinect. Alsop it has been said many times, a very small team worked on kinect, so working on kinect is not going to hinder the bug fixes, the dlc, or anything else. Its just a lovely extra

I mean, I am no marketing expert so someone tell me if there is something wrong with my thinking but... If I was in their marketing teams shoes:

I would see how edgy the fans are getting for more content.

Wait till the last few days of april/ first few days of may and release Kinect for skyrim. Along with a little extra...

On the website I would drop a map of Skyrim... maybe have another piece of paper over it with a couble of scribbled notes on it that looks like its in world.
On the note it has a few ambiguous messages and there are a couple of areas circled in Skyrim.

Some people would take this as a hint and be happy. Others would go and explore these areas. There could be a dead traveler with a journal in his pocket that has clues...

This could lead to a single secretly added quest. It doesn't show up in journal and only people who know elder scrolls lore well could decipher it... so the internet would have to work for the solution.

The clues could lead to more clues and maybe eventually as a reward the player who figures them all out gets a small reward: A hint as to the location/subject of the next dlc.

And this doesn't even have to be a good hint. Heck make that hint something we have to dig through all our knowledge of elder scrolls to make sense of.

Hey don't knock the kill cam release, it was free wasn't it? Can't knock anything that's free...

Kill cams are absolutely awesome. The only thing to spice up the otherwise terrible combat are kill cams.

Thanks, I mean... that would be the best way to keep us occupied until a new dlc came out. Just give one new quest that is really difficult to figure out.

I am not in a rush to get it, I want them to take their time and get it right. I am however sick to death of lame crap corporate announcements to drive interest and then leave people hanging for a month plus. This marketting system is lame and turns me off to a lot of games. If you have an announcement make it and od not announce plans to make an announcement.
