what are you afraid of

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:22 am

Hmmmmm.... That's a tough one.

I think my greatest fear is losing my freedom. I would not last a day where someone is constantly telling me what to do, when to do it.

Getting on drugs resulting in becoming a homeless bum on the street all the while failing at life.

Not to take this off topic, but just

Dying alone, never knowing a actual true relationship and not some [censored] web of lies.

I don't mind being told what to do. I just don't do it.

My 4 year old son sitting next to me on the couch during Saturday morning cartoons, looks up at me and says:

"Thank you father, but we have no more further use for your continued presence, now that the link has been established, with my brethren."

while his pupils turn blond and his eyes roll up into his head.

- Swimming in pools with pictures on the bottom of them.

What...?

I am also rather terrified of bees (especially wasps). We don't get the "killer" kind up here in the Midwest, but I still hate them. I always seem to get a wasps nest attached to my house during every summer, and a lot seem to find their way into my house. :ahhh:

I don't have a fear of heights, rather, I have a fear of falling from a great height (without a sense of security, that is)

I am also afraid of getting hit by lightning again (as, apparently, my chances actually go up after being struck before :o )

Bioshock.

Seriously, not being able to breathe, especially concerning water - I find the sea pretty scary, as well as wiers and stuff. Not that I won't go swimming in the sea or near a wier, I just get a bit nervous around water.

Spiders.

Heights, to a lesser extent.

Big spiders. Especially when I was living in FL growing up-- we had these HUGE, fast wolf spiders (with legspan as big around as my hand with fingers spread out) that had a nasty habit of popping out of nowhere (as they are hunting spiders) to scare the life out of you.

Death by suffocation, with worst imaginable being buried by an avalanche, and not being instantly killed.

2012.

:ahhh:

Not.

What am I afraid of? Never being able to meet my boyfriend.

So many things could happen between now and when we can move in together... Urgh...

If I think about it too long I get nervous...

The only one I can really think of off the top my head is my absolute worst one. Fear of heights. I remember one time while in the Twin Cities, I was at that big theatre for a show, and on the 4th floor they have these walls where the wall is like 8-inch thick glass.

I was terrified to get near them, despite the fact I knew I was safe, I managed to build up the courage to stand like 4 feet away from it, and one of my friend nudges my back like they were gonna push me. I freaked out, wasn't too far from tears, and I was more than ready and willing to kill him.

I'm fine with flying in planes, or if there is an OBVIOUS and INFALLIBLE barrier between me and the drop, but as soon as it loses either of those, my ass is out of there.

The two biggest fears for me are thunderstorms and spiders. If a spider appears on a wall, I'll watch it to make sure it doesn't sneak around somewhere and look for something to throw at it. Why throw? Because I'm too scared of them to get a napkin or something and get close enough to squish it.
As for thunderstorms, I'm not afraid of rain or snow, and if the thunderstorm is far away, it doesn't bother me. However, anytime there's a thunderstorm my heart beats faster and I get very scared. During storms, I will always move to my basemant (it muffles the thunder). It's the sound of the thunder, the sight of the lightning, and me always thinking there might be a tornado that all combine to freak me out.

I use to be scared of storms, mainly tornadoes. We seem to get a lot here in Indiana, but eventually managed to just have a fear within reason (if you aren't scared of tornadoes, you haven't been in one).

Mediocrity doesn't mean you can't have a happy or "amazing" life, does it?

...I don't think you can have an 'amazing' life if you're mediocre. A happy one, maybe.

The concept of being number one in anything scares me. As does the concept of being below number two at anything.
