So What Are You Doing In Skyrim #2

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 7:49 am

I get bored now roaming around with most everything completed (level 66). The other night I decided to nuke everyone in Riften. Started by beating on Hemmingway Black-Briar...can't stand that guy. Then smashed Maven around. Left the Bee and Barb and beat on the guards. Lured them out into the market and called the dragon in to barbecue them. Marched down into the Thieves Guild and listen to Vex lecture me about screwing up. So I killed everyone I could in there, checked my current bounty and it was somewhere around 26,000, laughed and turned it off. It was fun though...

Today Allek spent some time converting Iona’s old room into a study for Marcurio. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/MarcurioStudy.png Sadly the candle glare obscures the rolled papers propped in the basket. That was not easy to do! Marcurio has a wardrobe for alchemy ingredients, an endtable for scrolls and potions, and a chest of drawers to keep the soul gems organized.

The enchanting room holds a number of daedric artifacts and a kettle for leftover soul gem fragments, but the main feature is this: http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/RestlessMannequin.png I thought it was the Savior’s Hide that made it walk around down there. Nope. Maybe it’s Iona’s ghost.

Me and Uthgerd set off early to clear the ruins just west of Whiterun, alas I
have forgotten the name. It was infested with common bandits, who, like their counterparts, were easy
to exterminate. There was no exceptional fight, or any interesting loot, but we did come across a
strange old woman who resfused to leave after I had killed the Fort's inhabitants. I left her to her own
little world.

I know this old lady well. It was Agnis at Fort Greymoor. In one playthrough, I let her live, and she sent thugs after me for killing her people. In another life, Avenici gave me a job to get rid of the bandit leader at Fort Greymoor. It was Agnis.

And on top of all that, there's even a Dark Brotherhood side contract to take her out. The moral of this tale is that even if you're plenty agreeable to live with whatever life throws your way, you're going to die!

Niamh is heading back to Peryite's shrine from the east, having gathered the ingredients - (pretty much incidentally, as it turns out) - she's passed through a couple of settlements, where they have problems that she might come back for, and a large ruin with a very strange maze - though she didn't explore it fully as she wanted to move on.
She is currently rauaging her way through a fort not far from an interesting-looking town that she doesn't recall having seen before.
Maybe she'll check it out, it's on the way.

Oh yeah, and scratch 2 more hunters and 3 Thalmor.
(She actually likes Thalmor, more or less, but has learnt to be wary of war parties as they have in the past attacked her. It's possible that these simply stopped to speak to her but she was nervy and fired first. It was brief and crispy)...

Derik spent a very nerve racking day negotating a peace treaty between Ulfric and General Tullis. He was truely sickened that they made it all about who would get what just for them to stop fighting long enough so Alduin could be taken care of. After all that was taken care of He went back to Whiterun and captured Odanviing and caught a ride to Skudafn. As the fighting their was long and hard he took a short breather and then fought a Dragon Priest at the enterance to Sovengarde.

After finding the bridge to The hall of Valor ( and getting his @$$ handed to him twice by Tsun) He met with Three Hero's of old and together the defeated Alduin in an epic battle. After wandering around Sovengarde for a little bit and taking in the beauty and peacefulness of it, Derik knew he had to go back home.

Lydia was very happy to see him when he got back to Breezehome. Derik has some hard thinking to do, He know's that the Civil war need's to end and while he personally likes neither Ulfric nor General Tullis, He really hates the fact that he know's the Thalmor are planning something and had a very large hand in starting the Civil war in the first place. Chaos in Skyrim and the rest of the Empire is good only for the Thalmor. Derik is planning on taking at least a day or two off from saveing the world and just chill out at home, maybe patching up his armor and fixing the chip's in his sword.

Went to the shrine of Mehrunes Dagon to pick up my newest dagger. Fought two dremora with my pal Lucien outside the shrine (he died). To my great surprise the two dremora Churls inside the temple each fell in one shot with an ebony arrow to the head delivered by my new daedric bow. Harvested the dremora hearts (I need a new set of daedric gauntlets among other items). I then proceeded to the Dwemer ruin Mzulft to find Mjoll's sword.

Began a new tactic for me, as my daedric chest plate, helm and gauntlets provide more than enough armor class I donned the shrouded shoes (0 AC) to help increase my stealth (coupled with the muffle perk), I am now only wielding two daggers and will try to backstab where ever possible. Pretty successful thus far in Mzulft.

In dungeons I wield now a legendary daedric soul-stealer dagger also enchanted with Frost damage along with a variety of daggers for my off-hand (Vald's Lucky dagger - legendary, dwarven dagger of flames - legendary and eventhough it can't be smithed a dragon priest dagger with stamina drain added. And now also Mehrune's Razor).

Just finished taking care of a little business for Maven in Whiterun. I'm trying to take all the mead out of the brewery before it becomes a collectors item. Can you say "Rare and valuable private stock"? I also found a peculiar note.

As a side note, does anyone know if the safe in the Ragged Flagon Cistern restocks?

Middas - 26 - Last Seed

It was an interesting night, and I woke up early in the morning only to be greated by a talking Dog
as I exited the Holds gate. Apparently he works for a deadric prince, and since I was still undecided
about the last one, I rejected his offer to follow him. Instead I continued up the road, into the
mountains to find treasure. We came across a cave containing Ghosts, and a large evil spirit at the
end which I had to fight alone since Uthgerd got herself trapped outside and could only watch. I did
however recieve an Elven Bow which was magically enchanted to have a chance of causing Paralysis in its
enemies!

It was only 9:00 AM when we left that cave, so we decided to head even further into the mountains and
came across this house with a bandit in. It turned out there was an enterance to a
secret underground liar as well, which we went through, and we dispatched the entire Bandit clan
including their leader. She should of listened to her father when he told her to quit
whilst she was a head, yes I did read her letters, which I feel a bit guilty about.
I found a nice Dwarven bow with a Fire enchant, which may be handy so i'll carry around two bows.

It also turns out that they had a Candlestick Mold in their treasure room, so i'll keep an eye on that
to see if i come across the owner. Other than that just Gold and Gems really. Its only 1 in the afternoon
so I will probably head to one other dungeon before returning back to town. Me and Uthgerd really need
to talk about our fighting strategy because she's using her bow instead of her Axe. Perhaps she just
wants the practice but its not good when the enemies get close, and neither of us have our melee weapons
out. Especially me, since I don't use any.

Either way, I'll rest for a while.

I didn't realise she was involved with any other quest. Perhaps Telina will, one day, come across her.

Silique a' Quercus is exhausted from finishing the Staff of Magus in the treacherous Labyrinthian, and she's decided to take a break before returning to the College of Winterhold. She's visiting the Land of the Modders, who have made her look like she always wanted. Did you know that Wood Elves actually have dark skin (the color of polished wood), green eyes, and green hair? I don't know how Bethesda forgot about that. See below:

Sophia my nord has had a very interesting week. She's a supporter of the Empire and is Thane of Solitude, so naturally she's not a big fan of the Stormcloaks although she still visits the camps and gets supplies from the quartermaster. She was suppose to go to Windhelm and talk to Aventius Aretino so that she could wipe out the Dark Brotherhood but seeing the Dark Elf get treated badly made her snap and she proceeded to kill virtually all the guards in town (Not the Castle though as Ulfric and Golmor are essential). It didn't help that she went straight to Riften and had the same thing occur, only this time it was the guard at the entrance way being a jerk. Needless to say Sophia won't be spending much time in Windhelm or Riften, although she did join the Dark Brotherhood afterwards but it wasn't an easy decision since they went after her 3 times with Assassins.

Current Bounty
Whiterun 40 (Attacked some Thalmor Justicars, will pay that off eventually)
Windhelm 9040
Riften 21040

Got the Oblivion Walker trophy!

Deleted Kaitrackh Serdbasefra Lie.
Got bored with 2 handed fighting.

Zrievereillia got overwritten while doing the trophy.

So deleted everything and started again.

Made a female redguard.

Scargia Eil Bey. Her name means Carving Blade(Scargia) Of The (Eil) Moon (Bey).

A S'uovopriet(Screaming Worlds) a refined warrior who uses magic. Likes onehanded weapons and destruction magic. Uses a weapon and magic. Likes swords best. Wears light armour. Likes beautiful clothes and jewelery. She has pink bobbed hair, darkest skin, brown eyes, yellow eyeshadow, red lipstick, purples blusher, and white warpaint, over her forhead, striped down her face and neck.

She comes from a semi traveller group called Pri'priat(Soaring Eagle). A group who have many bases, and many caravans, but all can be moved if nessesery. A peaceful and fair group, who only take territory if it is fair game.
They are aggressive and known to all to avoid angering. From high lord to low bandit, all know to never anger Pri'priat if you want to live and keep your goods and territory. All enemies are systematically and viciously slaughtered and their goods and terrtory taken, Even the more dangerous and powerful groups in Hammefell know to always be on good terms with them, if only to avoid vicous reprisels.

She observed the spellswords in her settlement, and noted their sword etc skills were lacking in comparison to the warriors, but they were strong magically. In her words, 'they could burn well, but one good punch would send them flying'. She made her own style, using finesse, complex and brutal sword work and magic, the magic used to take out enemies, before the fatal blow. Geared more towards weapons, 60/40 weapons and magic.
She contributed to the magic warrior style of combat and it's evolution and rise in the guild, in her area, in a widespread way.

She was travelling with her group through Hammerfell, looking for adventure, resources, items, whatever, a aggressive scouting party, when word came of a incident in a area close to skyrim. The place was known to be a bad place to go, hence why their group, however aggressive they were elsewere, avoided.

Apparently some wizards, some of them rivals normally, were temporarily allied to take down the Sin'agec(Superior Crystal Engineers),a group of mecha mages, alchemist, etc, who had specialised in aincient magic machinery, including dwemer. In a move that impressed the Pri'priet, they had brutally kicked out a force of shakily allied Synod and rogue Winterhold mages from a aincient dwemer Z'coulderbreth(Black Eyes Red Lazors), a dwemer walking fortress.
Once it was in working order it attracted the attention of the wizard groups nearby, who, fearing their power, allied, to take them down and take the Z'coulderbreth.

The Sin'agec had sent out advertisments, all mercenaries would be well paid, if they helped them fight them off and crush them.

Too tempting to pass up.
And the Sin'agec were sometime allies of the Pri'priat, friends.

So they went off to fight for the Sin'agec.
It went well, they were well paid, then the wizards started playing dirtier, bringing out magicka orbs to kill on a big scale. Counter productive, magicka orbs burnt the ground, making it hard for the victors to estabish once the enemy was gone.
The Sin'agec had a nearly foolproof shielding system, that bounced magic attacks of that size back at the sender, so they were ok. They started decimating the enemy, with their own weapons.
But with magicka orbs, it is'nt the weapons you have to worry about, it's the wielder. One mistake and both sides go up in flames.
And one day, a foolish wizard did'nt take proper precautions, and went in to fire a orb, and it blew up, igniting over 10 orbs, destroying the wizards camp, their alliance, tentative and shaky as it was, and half the Sin'agec defences.
Her group came out of their base at 3.00am, the sonic boom and magic still in the air from the explosion, and saw something worse was about to happen. The Sin'agec had been replacing a power core for the Z'coulderbreth. The engineers were dead, the core itself, beeping dangerously, part of it's shield damaged. it was about to go up. She screamed over the raging winds triggered by the explosion, go back, they'd have some safety in thier mobile base/bunker, a thing from another world, designed for hiding from huge, radioactive explosions, the cause of which terrifed them. On the outside it said Enclave. Inside were things that clicked and whirred. If it could protect from nukes, it could protect from this. They nearly made it, but just as they got to the bunker, a terrifying roar caused them to turn, and see a solid wall of magic, fire and debris of all kinds from the explosion, rushing at them, with something worse spreading overhead. A unmistakable teleportaion wave.
They sprinted for the bunker, and threw themselfves in as fast as they could. Half the group were in when the wave hit, before the fire, and the rest were thrown into the air, praying they landed somewere good, or safe.
Scargia told them to lock it down and not come out till it was safe. Then something hit her head and she was unconcious, vaguley seeing the blue of teleportation, before passing out.

She landed with a thump on a force plate, 10ft in the air above a imperial checkpoint. S**t, she thought, imperials, felt the cold, it's not tamriel this is it, god's I hope it's not...
Skyim, as she landed on the floor as the forceplate disapeared.
F**k. Dazed she looked around and checked for injuries. Just a bruise on her head.
She knew the rest would be ok in the bunker. But the others caught in the explosion, she hoped they were ok.

She grabbed her identity purse, before a male soldier, Officer Merendaz(Healing Spikes), appeared. No point running off, they recorded who crossed the border, and she had crossed, dammit.
Gah, her tamriel papers were in the bunker. Maybe she could talk her way out it.

The soldier looked impatient. Fair enough, girl falls from the sky, you need papers.

She was halfway to explaining and he accepted her explanation, when some distinctly retro looking soldiers charged the checkpoint, fur, really? Had they never heard of trousers, at least?
He said, 'F**king stormcloaks, stay hear, your story is valid, It's noted it down.' Before going to fight. She wondered if she should fight with them, but might be misconstrued.
The fighting got worse, the imperials slightly outnumbered.
Then a telltale hum of teleportation, and a large chunk of ground, building foundations still in it, loomed over the checkpoint.
S**t...she said, as it cracked and exploded. Her scream as a person sized chunk of rock came at her froze the air, and it exploded the rock. Wow, that had'nt happened at that strength before as much. It had happened before.
Both sides were looking at her. Not good, perhaps.
The soldier came back, in a friendly way, and helped her get out of the way, as the fighting resumed.
Go in the guard station, I'll be with you shortly.
She went inside, and had some some wine and food. No point being hungry if you don't have to fight.
Then a louder hum, and a ugly mess of broken magicka orb, fire, and land loomed over the checkpoint, with smaller pieces behind it.
It landed. She tore herself from the window and hid in the furthest most stable part of the building. The cellar was locked.
The screams and noise were horrific. Poor Offficer Merendaz. She liked him.

2 hours later, she woke up, the shock and horror had made her faint, too much for her.
She went outside.
She wished she had woken earlier.

A group of imperial soldiers were riding into view. And they did'nt look as smart as Officer Merendaz.

They were'nt.

3 days later she was in a cart heading to Helgen. The evidence had be destroyed by the massive, chain explosion. More things ahd come thorugh, and the area was a blackened burned mess. A lot of things had been destroyed that would have helped her.
She looked like she'd be crossing illigally on purpose. And they did'nt listen when she explained, they were just grunts, doing their job in the shortest way possible.

This Ulfirc Stormcloak, and his stupid retro soldiers, she'd heard his name from the soldiers and after, was going to die. For fragging up her life! And the wizards would die, in the most painful, tortuous way possible.

After the events at Helgen she went exploring.
She'd help the empire, nothing against them generally.

Skyrim was so cold! But some interesting and awesome places.
Fought some forsworn. Shame really, she had nothing against them.

Iizlovaas recently had to put down Kodlak's inner wolf, which didn't even take the initiative on attacking her. Now she feels a bit regretful, since it didn't look all that bad-natured. Anyway, the Harbinger title is hers now, and the ghosts at the tomb had provided her with decent honorable fights, especially when four of them in a room all ganged up on her. Afterwards, Iizmir went on to the Throat of the World with a few stops along the road for some minor errands. She managed to persuade Arngeir to host the little party (the Colovian Brandy she had with her might've helped out a bit too. Poor chap couldn't keep his eyes from it.), and is now underway to Solitude, with a little detour via Skyhaven Temple to drop off another Thalmor disguise (no need to talk to the residents, only hop in and hop out).

Eyes-Of-War decided to take a contract from his colleague Nazir, since Astrid seemed pissed off that she didn't get the title of "Listener." Eyes-Of-War believes it is folly to feel that way, as titles are meaningless anyway without the authority to back them up. He thinks the tiny jester man and himself already could lead this ragtag group better than she's been doing so far. He took what was supposed to be the tougher of the two contracts first, Hern the Vampire. It was pouring rain as Eyes-Of-War left the Sanctuary, he took this to be a forboding omen. Being a recently transformed Vampire himself and knowing their true potential, Eyes-Of-War was pleased that he might meet a formidable challenge. What he met instead was some harmless woodcutter, tired from a long day of working out in the rain. Eyes-Of-War rushed up on the man as his hand was on his doorknob, clearly about to retire for the night. Not even bothering to introduce himself, the vicious Argonian charged at once and let fly with a gout of flame from both hands. Hern fumbled for his Steel Axe, and managed to get a strike off which clattered uselessly against Eyes-of-War's Daedric plating. "Weren't expecting THAT, were you!?" Hern cried out, seemingly to himself, as he ended up collapsing in a burning heap a moment later.

Eyes-Of-War then proceded to stalk off north, into the night, intending to meet with an Amaund Motierre in Volenruud (just because Astrid told him not to) before he completes his other contract and returns to the Sanctuary.

The little ball of rage and hate that is our heroine is continuing to sweep westwards towards Peryite's shrine.
She thought about entering Solitude but decided against it, having spent so much time alone in the wilderness she just no longer feels comfortable in the big settlements...

Legate Jerian Vautrine is currently wandering the vast expanses of Skyrim. He's heading in the general direction of Morthal, where he hopes to stock up on potions and perhaps even a new spell or two before heading east to Fellglow Keep. He may make a quick detour to Whiterun in order to pick up Lydia ... He feels lonely without her!
Earlier he wandered up to the College if Winterhold, and shoved a rather distinctive set of clothing known as 'Ulfric's Clothes' in his wardrobe - a trophy from the Empire's triumph over the rebellion! ;)

My level 60 warrior is now a destruction mage. I had 7 perks that I didn't know what to do with, so I decided to become a mage as a hobby. Not too hard. I'm wearing alteration/destruction 100% reduction clothes, 0 armor. 300 mage armor when I need it. Destruction was pitiful when I started, but it got much better as I leveled up and spent some perks. I can take anyone on one-on-one, because I have impact now. If I have more opponents, I have paralysis. Unlimited paralysis is OP.

Flying Snow has had a tough few days. She headed out west from Riverwood since she hasn't yet explored that part of Skyrim. As she was climbing a hill she came across a rather rude man who shouted at her to back off. He called himself a Thalmor or something. Flying Snow just shrugged and ignored him, then a little further up the hill she saw two more thalmor and the bodies of three stormcloak soldiers! Flying Snow doesn't get involved in politics, but she is fiercely loyal to her friends, and a stormcloak soldier once helped her and took care of her, so she felt obliged to avenge the three that lay here.

A thalmor shouted at her to back off again, but she was beyond listening, a wave of rage building inside her. "Sorry, I don't take orders from people who murder my friends." She said, and unleashed a stream of mage-fire upon the trio. They never stood a chance.

Having returned from her vacation, Veronica donned a new set of clothes and went off to Riverwood to exchange dragon souls for perk points at the Dragon stone alter(via mod). After doing this, she was finally attacked by the Ancient Dragon that had been flying around Riverwood and Whiterun for the longest time. It was an epic battle, mainly because he couldn't land anywhere for a few minutes and thus attacked me from the air only. When I got back up on the road, it landed and the real battle commenced. 4 icy spears and a Frost Breath later, it was killed and its soul became part of me.

Having got a nice refresher from the dragon battle, she sat out to visit the Dragon lairs to do some dragon soul collecting. There was one in particular that crash landed so bad that it lagged up the game and dropped my FPS to 5. And it was also stuck in between a small shed and the side of the mountain, of course this didn't stop it from plowing me with its frost breath.

Later on in the day, she discovered her 299th, 300th and 301rst location, two of which were forest areas, and one new cave that only contained 1 room and a single master necromancer.

Not a bad chain of events for my first time playing skyrim in over a week.
