what makes you not want to live in this world?

Post » Tue Jul 26, 2011 6:50 am

I have several things.

1. Anti-Religious People. I dislike them to the core, mainly because I am religious (and so is around 90% of the world's population). I don't mind atheists though, in fact, several of my friends are atheist, and they are some of the nicest people I know. Even they dislike anti-religious people because in one of their words, "It makes us atheists look like bigots."

2. Animal Abuse. I don't know how people could do mean to animals, I just don't. In Kenya, the previous owners of the house I lived in, before they left back to the USA, kicked their cats out. We kept good care of them.

3. Modern Pop. I believe that its self-explainatory.

Music these days. There is so much great music out there, but if someone here's you listening to something, they pretty much assume you have a personality that lines up with some skewed opinion of music in general.

Aliens who've been watching our tv broadcasts, have taken the concept of credit cards and repo reality series, improved, adapted and then itroduced it to the rest of the Milky-way.
This would make me not want to be on this planet anymore.

ufo lands in front of the un building

un secretary general: "Greetings alien visiters from outer space-"

Alien one, has a patch that says Marv on a flannel shirt: "Yeah.., listen.., yous a guy by the name of.. uhh, 'Moon'?"

Ban Ki-moon: "Yes, I am the secretary gen-"

Alien two, nicknamed Frooth: "You're a secretary?! BWAAAHAAHAHAHA-hic"

Marv: "Billy-Joe-John-Bob Froothwad, will you shut up, lemme work! Now listen here, mister Moom.. er.. Moon, we're here to foreclose on this here planet, and y'all are gonna hafta leave on a ground of this here ee-vicshun notify-cation statin' the bankruptcy of Alpha Centauri and surroundin' real estates."

Billy-Joe-john-Bob: "An' thats you, Bubba."

as to why they're good ol' boy aliens all of sudden..., I have no idea.

I hate that social skills and customs are accepted and obeyed to the letter without question, and anyone not up to scratch basically can't make it in the world. I guess that's why massive computer game alternate worlds were invented... *sigh* :P

Monotony. Lack of adventure. Lack of the ability to really explore.

My god yes. This is so true. I remmeber when I was seven, I loved exploring the woods behind my house and always imagining I would find a dungeon or something. This combined with Zelda games turned me into someone wanting to go on adventures, to explore.

Fast forward to the future and I come to realize there is really no dungeons on Earth to be discovered, no quest to be done, no journeys to take... at least not in the, "Going into the unknown!" style there once was. No matter what, you always have a idea of what's going to happen now...

Yeah, its a real shame. The only two real unknowns left are the ocean floor and deep space, and we don't live in a time where the technology is avaidible to go exploring other life harboring planets. And even if we did, you would no doubt have to be working for some major world government to do it.

I did the exact same thing as you at that age.....the closest I have ever gotten to a dungeon were abandon tree houses and abandoned farm houses.

Hardly the same thing.....I would expect to be robbed/mugged and would prepare for it. That's going into danger, known danger, not the unknown.

People who think bombing an entire country makes up for past events.

Most people.

Modern society in general, people, stupidity, television, disease, pain, the economic recession, most pop music, "talented" people, etc, etc... The list could go on and on.

THIS!

Yeah, the unknown is hiking through the woods when you discover a gaping hole in the earth, upon looking into which you find only tattered shreds of reality and eldritch abominations from some unfathomable otherly world.

Kabul is a known danger, Calcutta is just a city.. although it is kinda grimy.. :hehe:
I had a wonderful time, met some amazing people, and probably never felt a more genuine sense of hospitality while I was there.

Come to the north western states of USA, there is mountain ranges and areas no man alive has seen or written about. That is if the stagnant realm this world appears to be would be better with a little exploration.

Not what I mean.

There is so little left to discover on Earth, almost all land is mapped, recorded, and given a name.

Imagine how the first Roman legion to set foot in Caladonia (modern day Scotland) felt? A landscape they had never seen, a people entirely foriegn to them ect.

The whole sixual reproductive cycle (its all so primitive...and if you think about it pregnancy is like having a huge parasite feeding off of your body - no thanks!) and life having to consume other life for survival. Pretty basic things but I see them as huge flaws. I seriously can't wait until we evolve into cyborgs... I want to look organic but have a purely mechanical interior and be free from biological desires/needs - once we reach that point we will no longer be animals and will have evolved to a whole new level of consciousness. Sometimes I honestly feel like I got off at the wrong stop planet!

No need to wait until technology advances just go to you doctor and say you want to be neutered or fixed. Then when the operation is over you wont have those "biological desires" anymore and wont be able to reproduce permanently. You'll be exactly like you want to be. ;)

EDIT: Why would anyone want to be made of cheap inferior fragile material made in china and be forced into permanent slavery for a fat evil greedy man?

I'd prefer not to have to trade in my desires for food and six for desires for batteries and roller bearings. :D

Being a cyborg won’t solve this though since your brain will still be organic :<

Anyways, what makes me not want to live in this world is pretty basic: evil. Greed in particular since this is probably the most destructive human flaw. When I see how disgustingly selfish the majority of wealthy and powerful people are I feel like throwing up forever. Not common murderers are the scum of mankind, no, these self-righteous assholes are. I could die of shame when I look at what our species could’ve achieved by now if it were not for these fucked up individuals.

Why would you want to look organic if actually being organic is something that disgusts you so?

That would not be a new level of consciousness, that would be no consciousness. A machine with singularity isn't even technically conscous.

I'd rather die than be turned into a machine. I am a human, I am flawed, and I am happy with that.

Deffirint strokes for deffirint folks I guess.....erm, cyborg folks.....
