what makes you not want to live in this world?

I guess its just another one of their "plans" man. Think about it.

They put info about themselves on History Channel, which is probably all BS anyway, and not the real Illuminati, knowing no one in their right mind watches it. Then, these guys go online and research the real Illuminati. Then they start spreading the word; But are actually hurting the cause. Because there already crazy; So when they find out the truth, no one gives shi*. Then everyone thinks of the Illuminati as "what the crazy guy on the street was screaming about", and then they go back to the Illuminati's programming, watching re-runs of Full House and Fox News.

God dammit, those clever bastards! You guys! Not all the Illuminati believers are crazy! You gotta' believe me!

Oh crap. The forums are probably run by the Illuminati; All the mods must have been commisioned by the Illuminati; Meaning speaking there name will result in my banning! And now they know I know what they know I've been doing!

:ahhh: Please Don't kill me, man. :( :ahhh:

Is it odd that I read all that with Dennis Hopper's voice in my head?

There are enough reasons that make me want to hate this world, yes, but not live anymore? Nope, I'm not that desperate (yet).

Unfortunately, I can't state all the reasons why without breaking a whole bunch of rules on topics that are off-limits here or perhaps I'm treading too lightly. Let's say it involves religion, politics, economy, ethics, ecology, loss of virtues, technocracy, blandness, overpopulation...

What a depressive topic...

Anyway, the reason I wouldn't want to live in this world is basic human flaws: stupidity, racism, intolerance, fanaticism etc.

But in reality, they're just mindbogglingly annoying...

Ha.

All of the people listing "Modern society."

That was probably what they said when this question was asked by some bored kid back in Rome. And what guys living in some civilization far in the future will respond with.

I'm with Defron, cheating or not.

I like living pretty well. So far as I know I've only got one chance at this thing, so I plan on getting the most out of it.

I'm just gonna combine these and say fanatical stupidity. People don't just express stupidity, they aggressively pursue, defend, and spread it like they're devoted to a divine quest.

Too much of this is subjective. One person calls themselves smarter than others, I call them arrogant. Another person wants to think that their government is evil, I call them wrong. To argue that just because you dislike one aspect of the world for no other reason than there just happens to be a personal grudge is asinine. I see injustice and immorality in the world, and yet others call me wrong for calling it an injustice or immoral.

Live. Life svcks or life's good when there is focus on your goal. I wish happiness for everyone on the board, and regardless of opposing viewpoints...there are good people in the world even when we disagree with them.

People declaring that they don't want to live in this world because of minor annoyances or circumstances outside of their control. Wait a minute...

Nothing, I like living. I'm rather good at it. However, in the spirit of the thread: Facebook reacting to any event ever typically leads to an instant headache/drawn-out sigh.

what makes you not want to live in this world?

When you go outside and a giraffe kicks you in the groin.

Bad spelling and grammar.

And lack of capitalization.

In all seriousness, I like living, though some things do make me enjoy life less. Most importantly the crass materialism, selfishness, self-entitledness and lack of respect for others' positions and feelings are a worrying trend. Friends are no longer seen as people to be loyal to, but as disposable resources that should be cast off when no longer useful. People of the opposite six are viewed as objects or trophies to be claimed. Principles of loyalty, honour, duty, co-operation, honesty and the like are gradually being replaced by base selfishness and the glorification of materialism, sixual objectification, willful ignorance and egotism. Without trying to sound like an old coot, I think modern media, and especially popular music, are much to blame. And the trend of social networking is a worrying one, specifically the ability to pick and choose friends, and especially to remove them from your life with a single mouse click: people no longer resolve differences, they just block the other person as soon as they do or say something they don't like. And that is a very worrying evolution in social interaction.

Just the fact that no one knows about them pisses me off, and shows me how blind the world is.

No. It would be odd if you didn't read that with a Dennis Hopper voice in your head.

Nah, this forum is run by the masons man.

The Masons are just a fairytale, silly boy.

(I believe you, don't worry. We need to keep up our act.)

So why is the Illuminati such a big deal?

Google Illuminati, and watch your mind implode.

I could give your more info, but I'd rather stay as close to on-topic as possible. My PM inbox is always open though. :) (Mostly because I can't find a way to stop people from messaging me..)

what are somethings that make you not want to live in this world anymore?

for me its when something tragic happens and it gets over shadowed by something STUPID
like i only heard about norway on here but when whinehouse dies thats all my cell says, all fb says all twitter says all my freaken google plus says
it is stupid, the women was dying from drugs already
or when people ask the dumbest question, i was driving my jeep and someone said "nice jeep, is it yours?"

What gets my goat is when people start comparing scales of tragedies as if that makes a difference:

Amy Winehouse death = sad.
Tourist murdered = sad.
Over 90 people killed in Norway = sad.
Millions dying in Africa = sad.

It's like one person saying, "I have a headache," and then someone else saying, "Oh yeah? I have a migraine!" - that's all very well, but it doesn't make the headache go away.

When you go outside and a giraffe kicks you in the groin.

And lack of capitalization.

Agreed on all points - especially about the giraffe - though the social media thing isn't new. I mean, it was just "so-and-so's not talking to me" when we were kids. *creak*

Idiocracy isn't a word :P

If it isn't a word, it's a very plausible and logical neologism. Which can not be said for the suffix "-et" instead of "-ette".

What gets my goat is when people start comparing scales of tragedies as if that makes a difference:

Amy Winehouse death = sad.
Tourist murdered = sad.
Over 90 people killed in Norway = sad.
Millions dying in Africa = sad.

I get what you're saying, but I respectfully think you're being a bit too simplistic about it. It's not really people "comparing" tragedies (or not always at least), it's more people getting it to others' attention that misguided placement of importance in 'smaller' occurrences makes you lose sight of the bigger injustices that happen. And I do agree with people who say there's far too much commotion about the death of one singer, compared to the tiny mentions that other tragedies are getting.

Agreed on all points - especially about the giraffe - though the social media thing isn't new. I mean, it was just "so-and-so's not talking to me" when we were kids. *creak*

Yeah, but now it's become far too easy to just swap one friend for the other. All you have to do is click the Block button, and your friend and all the problems you have with him go away. People don't work for friendships or relationships anymore. It's far more immediate and effective than just 'not speaking'.

Even in some very very difficult times for me personally, there has never once been a day when I didn't want to be here. I've gone to bed feeling terrible about something (or someone), or just through bad periods in life, and yet every night, I know that I want to get up the next day. Because you never ever know what will happen. And it could easily be a bit better than the day you just got through. There are tragedies in life, tough times that are tough to get through, but the opposite side of that coin is that there are moments and times of great joy. I would miss the good if I couldn't deal with the bad.

I am not a Pollyanna type either...but I like being in the world, even with it's scabby dark difficult parts. Or the eye-rolling annoying parts. Or the boring parts.
