What race do you refuse to play?

The only race I've never played in the TES games is Argonian, and I never will.

Although I love Khajiit's, I just can't play a "beast race". It's all about immersion and identifying with your character for me.

Weird, I can't really relate to any other race than khajiit. I've always liked the underdogs (or cats in this case). Argonians are cool too.

If i try to make a human or even elf character I feel like I'm playing as someone else. If I make them look like me I feel like "Yeah right, like that's going to happen", I just can't see myself running around with a sword going "Fus Ro Dah"

I'm currently doing a Nord/Stormcloak playthrough and will probably do an Imperial Race/Imperial Faction character as my second playthrough, because of the subtle NPC racial reactions it just seems natural playing a native of Skyrim or member of the other major "invading" faction the Imperials.

If I were going for pure stats, Orc would fit my playstyle the best for a dual wielding berserker tank build.

I never created or played any of the beast races in the past because I never really liked the character models, but I have to admit, the newer Skyrim models look amazing and so much than it's predecessor Oblivion. I may wind up (eventually) creating a dragon-looking Argonian to fall in with the "Dragonborn" theme of the game.

The only race I dislike in TES is Dark Elf, but in the end I don't play most of the others either because I like to game with one or two characters at most and they are usually the beast races.

What I like about this kind of thread is it always reminds me of how we all have different tastes and different reasons for those tastes. Some are for gameplay, some aesthetic, some are believability and some down to identity.

Fascinating.

I play Argonian, Khajiit, Bosmer, Orc. I don't refuse the others, I just like them less.

High Elves. Hate them. They think themselves so high, and undeservedly so. I always play Imperials. Few days ago I made a regular khajiit and I love playing as him.

Why do Argonians get so much hate? It's my fav race to play as in any TES game.

Been playing since TES Arena and have never played a Altmer. Prior to Skyrim the weaknesses usually scared me away plus I seldom play a mage. In Skyrim they are just dikes and I just don't want to play one (plus they are as ugly as sin).

I only played an Argonian once and that was in MW. It just didn't last very long. Khajiits I have no problem playing as they are so specialize at being rogues, but Argonians are not really good at anything (kinda like Imperials).

is anyone here a Breton? I don't want a character who's shorter than others tbh... are the Bretons shorter than the Nords in this game?

I tend not to play as an Orc or Argonian since I'm a little superficial when it comes to my own character. I prefer (in order) Breton, Dunmer and Khajiit.

Anything other than the beast races are boring, boring boring. I can be human all day long, why would I want to be one in a game? As for elves, they're humans with pointy ears, so yeah, dull. Khajiit and Argonian exclusively for me.

The only one that I would not play is an Orc. I am not too sure why though.

I could do kajiit, they cam be really cute. Argonians are just ugly imo :P and their voices oh god. Id only make an orc if I was playing as a really dumb brute. I usually play as some kind of humanoid.

After skyrim I doubt Ill ever play as a high elf either.

I hate to play Elves. I can't stand their pointy ears and the Altmer are the worst of them.

Breton.
Cause they look like Imperials, just more boring.

(Only reason I choose a race is because of the appearance of the character I have in mind, not to maximize the effects)
((And Bretons are horribly boring looking, Basically Nord, just less interesting.))
(((And no I do not care for the "amazing lore of the Bretons!".)))

Now that I think about it, Imperial. They just look so bland.

Already played with bosmer, breton, Nord and Altmer, still planning on playing with a Khajiit. The bosmer exactly because of the bug eyes, which I made completely black in Morrowind, Breton because every race's face had the same human look in Oblivion (and the lore plus my background in which she grew up in Oblivion), Nord due to the Dragonborn storyline, Altmer in accordance to the Thalmor story, and Khajiit so I could claw away and do a lot of hand-to-hand combat on my vengeful quest against the Imperials in Skyrim.

I'll see what future games or mods will bring, it all depends on the storyline and attributes for me to decide the race.

Argonians mostly. I can't relate to them at all. Khajiit I'm more sympathetic to since despite their ridiculousness they are a well made race and I like their voice acting and way they speak.

In order or requency I have played Altmer (3), Nord (2), Imperial (2) and Redguard (1).

I have never ever played Argonian, Khajiit, Breton, Dunmer.
In Oblivion I did try Bosmer as my first and only character.
Altmer. They just dont fit in with my playstyle (no magic). isnt there an issue with helmets on 'beast' races in skyrim?
I'm currently rolling a pure warrior Altmer and having lots of fun.
