Kagrenzel freaked me out, but I've never been truly scared in Skyrim. Saying that, I have a friend who has a phobia of spiders and I was watching him play when he opened a door, revealing a HUGE spider. He dropped bricks!

1. Game breaking glitches
2. Crashes and freezes.
3. Losing several hours of play time because of some horrible bug.

Yeah that's about it. Scary stuff.

What was unnerving is all the stories of the TDB. Before I started the quest line I really thought "What in the... How sadistic are these people."

I play with the music off, which means no obvious hints that anything is about to attack during the routine clearing of an average dungeon. In the pitch black, with no fore-warning, the sudden jump when a group of Dragur attack you is pretty scary.

I'm also not a big fan of the spiders, creepy buggers!

Nothing really scares me in the game, but I have had a few jump moments like everyone else. One time I was just strolling through the woods at night minding my own business, couldnt hear a sound. Then bam! A sabre cat pounces me and roars, scared the hell out of me.

Do you listen to your own custom soundtrack then? Or just... silence?

That my main save file is going to become unusable due to bloating before I can reach level 81 through legitimate means.

1. Trolls creep me out
2. stab them with the pointy end unless i'm a low lvl, then i run
3. I haven't screamed. this game isn't very scary. You should try dead space 1 or amnesia if you want a scare

When I have the Voice of the Sky blessing and I'm in an area with chaurus, I can walk by them and they won't attack but it's the creepiest thing ever! They're making those loud clicking sounds and moving around and I'm just sure they'll attack at any moment. Same with the spiders. They'll move around making that 8-footed walking sound and you'll be right next to them. :::shiver:::

There's a difference between being startled, and being scared.

If I had to say anything is scary in Skyrim, it's definitely Dwemer Ruins. If only the Centurions were way stronger, it'd be the icing on the cake.

I just listen to the wild noises, the beautiful sounds of nature that are often, I find, spoiled by the music (despite it's quality). I just find it to be more immersive. And if you disable the music in the .ini you actually get a mild framerate increase. ^_^

When an animal sneaks up on me, combined with the noise it makes and the sudden music.

Nothing in the game scares me.

The forums however are a different story. Some of the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions I've read here scare the freekin crap out of me.

When an animal sneaks up on me, combined with the noise it makes and the sudden music.

While that doesn't really scare me, it does startle/jump me a little.. then I get angry and kill whatever it is :stare:

That's being startled, not scared.

Scared is knowing something is out there, and dreading contact.

Startled is not knowing anything hostile is in the vicinity, and then being surprised by it's presence.

Dead Space: Startle

Silent Hill: Scare

Scariest thing for me was the Abandoned house in Markarth, adding on to that the first time I went in, it was glitched and Molag Bal didn't start talking yet things were still flying around.
I thought there was ghosts so I started throwing spells everywhere o.o

The only thing that gets me is when my wife (mjoll ) brings out the Daedric battle axe because I forget to throw out extra dragon scales.

Lol I did the same, but with arrows. I shot like 10 flying pots/pans before Molag started speaking.
