What scares you the most in the game?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:23 pm

I tried to search for a thread like this but did not find any.
So here we go .. :ermm:
  • What scares you the most in the game?
  • How do you deal with it?
  • And have you ever had a real life scream experience because of something that happen in the game?
I'll start then.
  • Spiders! Spiders! Spiders!
  • I never ever get close enough to see how nasty they are, sometimes that can be very hard so I run alot.
  • First time playing the game, I used a Raise Zombie spell on a giant spider in this cave and I ran thru this little doorway as fast as I could. And the giant spider was unable to follow me. So I continued thru the doorway of course and went thru some rooms .. and out of nowhere I hear this little disgusting sound behind me and I turn around and there he was, that giant spider! I had no idea he would show up when I was like 100% sure he couldn't get thru as he didn't get thru that doorway, so yeah. I screamed like hell, for real!

Nothing. There is no intentional "horror" element in the game like there is in something like Dark Souls, or Dragon's Dogma.

I find the Draugr unsettling, and the sound of a Dragon roaring overhead tends to make me jump when I'm not expecting it, but I have never, nor will I possibly ever, look at this game as a horror thing.

realising that I've done a terrible irreversible mistake, killing somebody important, losing a dragon mask (or rather my wife not staying in the kitchen and stealing it) losing a deadric artifact, getting the wrong perk,
honestaly idc what I've done, i just know im gonna have to save a previous save and do loads of [censored] all other again

Scariest thing in the game?

I vote for the immortal clone children... Why EVERY kid in Skryim has the exact same voice, exact same face (even between boys and girls) and are completely imperviouis to all damage scares the skooma out of me. I deal with it by running, far, far away from these freakish little goblin babies.

The score is the only thing that really is spooky to me. At the beginning of the game I hated trolls just because they were impossible for me to beat, but now they are 2-hit kills.

Dragon's Dogma isn't meant to be a horror is it? If it is it's failing at that...
On topic: I haven't been scared but an enemy or sound that I diddnt expect can make me jump..

There's nothing particularly scary in this game. Can't really remember a time I was scared.

And their taunting...Oh Talos the taunting.

You know, I was a staunch opponent of people wanting to kill children, but you know, after a few hours of that one little snotty girl in Whiterun, I wanted to put an arrow in her head or at least give her a spanking.

I don't find there to be a scary element to the game honestly. Though I wish there was a more eerie and darker feeling to the game. But that's just me.

I've had myself jump once or twice when thinking I cleared a room and then being hit from behind after a long pause between the room I cleared. Not frightened, just.. caught off guard I suppose.

Not really. What I mean is the intentionally designed pitch black night time with additional monsters etc. Which can catch people off guard or put them on edge if unprepared. Or the fear of doing something wrong in Dark Souls on the first playthrough.

Yeah, I got the whole "Chilrden of the Corn" thing from them as well. Just something creepy about them.

Haven't really been.... "scared" per se in the game.. have had the **** scared out of me a couple of times from things I haven't been expecting, skeevers jumping from the bushes along the side of the road, Kharjo running around a corner towards me in a dark dungeon, that creepy hagraven wanting to "consumate our love".... uh.. yeah...

Hiding from an archer or mage while you're at low health, and suddenly turning around and 'WHAM!' insant death. It's made me jump more than a few times...

I don't really find Skyrim scary.

Zombies in Oblivion though always made me nervous.

First mod I downloaded on PC was killable children, not that I wanted to murder them but it's stupid that you can't. I really wish they would have taken the time to give them at least a couple different voices and faces. It really does creep my out that boys and girls look the exact same and the fact that no other races in the game are capable of reproducing young.

It almost feels like there's one really ugly nord running around knocking up every female in every village.

An animal like a sabre-cat occasionally sneaking up on me can be scary sometimes.

Nothing in the game scares me.

The forums however are a different story. Some of the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions I've read here scare the freekin crap out of me.
