What if TES had a lovechild with your (other) favorite RPG?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 7:23 pm

The Edler Scrolls games are considered by many to be the benchmark in rpg gaming for detail, depth, richness and immersion.
My question is; What other rpg worlds/lore would you be exited to see if done in a game with the same level of seriousness and detail? And how would you ideally deal with integrating the different mechanics involved?

Personably, I would love to see a 'grown up', non-cartoon version of World of Warcraft , 'a la The Elder Scrolls', gritty & dark with out numbers popping up all over the screen. Id lean towards an TES style mechanics as much as possible too.

What do you think?

I don't think that this topic belongs here

I think that this might be better fitted to TES discussion forum

My favourite RPGs are Fallout and TES.

Fallouts detailed and serious by itself really.

Another RPG... Easily a Final Fantasy VII remake, in Elder Scrolls fashion

Final Fantasy has grown into something I hate... But at one time, during the age of FFVI and VII... they were among my favorite RPGs. Fallout is already similar, so I can't say that... Fut a FFVII remake, with a much darker, more realistic tone, rather than the super androgynous style being currently used. Plus the open world :twirl:

Anyway... obviously a more mature version of Zelda would also be great

The love-child would be a great or terrible game, depending on which factor it borrows from either of its parents.

Zork. Elderscrolls plus the wacky humor of Zork would be a lark.

Abe's Oddysee

[Edit] Obviously I can't read as that's not an RPG, but I stand by my choice.

My favorite RPG's are from Bethesda. And that would be incist. So I'll pass on the webfooted offspring.

It would be fun to see a 3d rendered Arcanum, or perhaps a Planescape: Torment, but the gameplay elements are pretty different. Perhaps just a Bethesda style game in Sigil.

Nice avatar... And yes I always wanted WoW to be more like TES... In wow you can walk through eachother as if you're ghosts, and combat is nothing but HP and DMG numbers, clicking spells

You emerge from Direnni tower, where your clan has led an existence sealed off from the wasteland blights. It is 150 years, as they used to be measured in linear time, since the the Landfall......

Of course they'd have to do it MW style to capture the rich lore and hundreds of different factions Greg Stafford created for Glorantha

Pokescroll - Got to soul trap them all!

/Joke

The real one will be Vampire the Masquerade (lore) + The Elder Scrolls (mechanics/gameplay).

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines was simply too buggy and mission driven although it has excellent lore materials and really really cool powers if realized correctly.
