What is the Best and Worst game you've ever played?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:58 am

Best:Toss up between Suikoden 2 on the PS1 and Morrowind(PC of course). I've easily sunk 1000+hrs into both of them.

Worst:Battletoads. All i can say is fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff. I cannot count how many times i had to fight the urge too put my fist through the tv while playing that game when i was a kid. My hate has mellowed a bit now thanks to the discovery that no one has ever completed it yet or atleast there's no proof anyone has managed it without cheating like a M**********.

...That's a first. I'm not even a fan of FF7 and that movie pissed me off. It was bad even by shameless fan service standards.

If I must explain myself: It pretty much insulted everybody who has ever played FF7 by intentionally forgetting everything that happened in the story. The climactic battle with Sephiroth in the game meant nothing, Zack only made a brief cameo, the fighting was ridiculously over-the-top, and Bahamut was sent to attack a city for who the [censored] knows why. And that was only a little fraction of it.

this is why i only bothered to play Final Fantasy 2, that dang soul of rebirth is kicking me down though man, but im working on it. itll take me ages to finish it though.

Worst: I'd probably go with Dungeon Siege, it was pretty awful. Not the worst game of all time, but the worst I've actually sunk any time into.

Same here. I finished the game, don't get me wrong, but when I look back on it and compare it to other games I've played (or could have played)... I want those hours of my life back! *sigh* Well, hardly the worst game I've ever played, but I hold no fondness for it anymore, and I don't think I could ever play it again.

Favourite: Morrowind, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires or Battle for Middle Earth

Worst: KOTOR, Deus Ex and Quake IV.

Before people start shouting about KOTOR and Deus Ex (Nobody will argue against Quake IV) I'll explain myself.

KOTOR had the most predictable story line going. From the very off I saw it coming. The combat was horrible and the I just hated everything about the game to be quite honest.

Deus Ex was boring. Simple as that. It might have been better if I'd got it when those graphics were cutting edge and not my retinas. I couldn't find any pleasure in playing that game.

Best Game? The one I worship!?! [censored] YOU! Lol kidding... Errmmm... I'm not sure about what the best game I ever played was. Probably Oblivion... Forza 3 is badass though... Hmmmmmmm... I'ma go with Oblivion on the top of my list ATM...

Worst game ever played... Wowwwww... Sector 8, or WoW hmm what to choose? WoW is the worst I've ever played. All I did was level up fast, and get shmoozed a flirted on by weird ppl on WoW, who constantly harassed me, in their underpants, and duelled me constantly, while I kicked thier ass in WoW... And it gets worse, but you don't wanna hear it...

Do you just hate Star Wars or something? I mean that's the only way I can see this happening. :P

Of course there are worse games out there, but that's the worst I can remember playing. When I was really young I hardly played at all, so I wasn't around for all the terrible NES and SNES games out there, or the early PC games. Mirror's Edge is the worst garbage I can remember playing, that doesn't mean it's the worst game of all time, but it's the worst I've played that I can remember.

Seriously though, terrible controls, laughable storyline and presentation, tons of plot holes. The list goes on.

I thought the controls were fine, but I'm on a console and I guess you're on PC which might make them worse. It's a really beautiful game, and I would count it more as a flawed masterpiece than a bad game. Also, in fairness there have been worse storylines.

EDIT: Just realised I got mixed up a few pages back. I was arguing that GTA: SA was good to a guy who said that Saints Row 2 was bad

To clafiry, Saints Row was ok, GTA: SA was good, Driv3r was terrible.

I don't know how to qualify something as 'best'.. but as far as playtime goes, I've gotten a lot out of both Mercenaries, Morrowind, and Oblivion.

Worst is probably even harder... Two Worlds was really awful, though I only played it for about ten minutes before giving up all hope. Splinter Cell Double Agent didn't get pulled off very well in my opinion. And just some random FPS's I've played were barely worth the 2-4 dollars.

All right not EVERYTHING, I do like Star Wars and the setting is nice an' all, but I just never enjoyed the game.

EDIT:

And Olath has just reminded me another -

Warcraft III. I can't abide that game - they only fun I had was playing the endless Starship trooper maps.

I played it on the xbox 360, every major button was mapped to the triggers and bumpers. Why? Why would you use the right bumper of all buttons for jumping (I think that was it) and then use the A, B and X buttons for nothing? The controls were just clunky and it seemed like they did it just to make the game "stand out".

The story was some of the stupidest and predictable crap I've ever seen in a game. I've seen sheets of paper less shallow than the characters involved.

The only good think about the game were the graphics, the game looked amazing, but everything else was garbage.

Best game . . . well, my favorite game of all time would have to be Golden Sun for the Game Boy Advance. As for worst game, there are quite a few. Darkest of Days, Two Worlds, or Superman 64.

Best: I can't really pick a best, but oblivion, fo3, and a few others are great.

worst: I don't hate much games, but one that I absolutely loath is Eragon the videogame. I want to strangle the people that made that game. It was horrible.

Well for best.... I got a few that I honestly couldn't choose from.
FFVII
Ocarina of Time
Wind Waker
Metal Gear Solid 1,3 and 4.

Worst? World of Warcraft.

And about the people not liking FFVII, once a game gets so much hype, or it becomes too popular, it of course, spawns people who want to "break the mold" and hate it. People who look for flaws they'd generally overlook in other games and them point them out stated, "this is why this game svcked". I too found some flaws with it as a game and as a FF title, but I don't think anyone could call it the worst game and have a perfectly justifiable, non-biased reason.
I'm not saying it's not flawless, but it's not horrid either. In the end, it's all opinion.

EDIT: After some more thought, maybe I was too quick to just jump in and defend it because I really like it. I should probably take my advice about the whole "non-"biased" thing. There are probably some people that don't actually like it, but no one I know

Best Game: Daggerfall, of course!

Worst Game: Some Home Alone game for the SNES. It was incredibly boring and dull, especially one of the levels that involved your character, Home Alone's kid, jumping on top of luggages being thrown from an elevator, in an hotel.

For no reason.

At all.
