What is the Best and Worst game you've ever played?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:04 am

BEST, Id have a list as long as my leg for this one, but Ill go with Morrowind, just because of the sheer amount of time I spent playing it and not getting tired of it. MODS also make half the fun. However I have to mention, Vampire the Masquerade, Deus Ex, anything in the Orange Box, and Sim City 3000. Just to name a few.

WORST, DDR, without any doubt the worst game I ever played >_< closely followed by a Spice Girls game I got talked into trying once when looking after a couple young family members. I will never forgive them for it >_>

PS: If you wanted to know, I actually own the 3rd driver game Driv3r 3, and it's not thaaaat bad. It was at least somehow entertaining.

It's not awful on its own, but compare it to stuff like GTA: SA, a game released in the same year. GTA had a far bigger map, melee combat, the ability to climb onto stuff, planes, way more vehicles and weapons, better characters...I could go on. Driv3r had nice cutscenes, but it was a buggy, hideous piece of crap.
Worst game I can think of now = Saints Row. Man I wasted about 50 damn bucks on a piece of trash, just because my cousin begged me to buy it.

Really? Is that really the worst game you can think of? Have you only played one other game or something?

I've always had a hard time chosing a single best thing of, well, everything. So mind my vagueness.

Best: Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2, Fallout 1&2, the complete Metal Gear Solid saga...

Worst: Very tough decision. Fallout: BoS, CoDMW2 (and I very much liked the first!) and Phantasmagoria 2 (and I very much liked the... wait...) are among the candidates. As would be WH40K: FIRE WARRIOR. And Gears of Dull. And... I'll run before the mob gets me. ^_^

It spawned a host of ripoffs, so it obviously did something right.

Worst - Perfect Dark: Zero. I can't describe how much of a letdown it was and how much I didn't like it.

I think I must be one of the few people who enjoyed PDZ

I know it was a launch game, and I did prefer the original Perfect Dark, but on the whole I though Rare did a pretty good job with it. Also, there are games coming out today that are laggier than PDZ online, so you can't argue with their multiplayer...

Too hard to narrow it down to just one.

Best: Final Fantasy IX, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Star Wars: Dark Forces, Shadow of the Colossus

Worst: Too Human, Morrowind (yeah yeah), Zeno Clash, Fable II

Well in his defense it was kinda cliche... big bad villain with a big bad sword, etc. The villains had no real motives either.

If you think the death scene was "innovative".... compare http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qnyxd7Vq0Q&feature=channel, with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIneeFx6toM#t=5m20s. 4 years earlier and about 100 times more touching.

<_< I hate when people say that games other people enjoy and regard highly as being the worst. I understand not liking a game, but I think there's a difference between being the worst and being a game you didn't enjoy. In my mind, a worst game would have bad design, or big flaws that most people could agree on.

Best: Morrowind or Oblivion, the best rpg's in my opinion

Worst: Two worlds
This game just stole $60 from me, it has crappy graphics and after you get to level 8 you can kill anything.

I know what cliche means. Aren't all of the FF games cliche? One dimensional characters, bad love stories, save the world from the evil one...

Most FF games are like that, but there are alot of RPGs that break the mold.

Nearly everything. It's not so much a game as it is a "choose your own adventure" book with only one path available. The endless morality lectures that you had to actually push X to get through each line (taking up to 30 minutes just to get past some horrid dialog), the stupid chocobo raising one had to do just to get a certain item, the combat blew, the fact that you couldn't just save anywhere, the random encounters when trying to cross 3" of TV real estate space that ended up taking 5 minutes for what should have been a 2 second walk, the cheesy story, the complete lack of freedom...

It was playing in some guy's anime. I had to finish it because I'm compulsive like that, but it was the most grueling, tedious, boring, frustrating, generally svcky game I've ever had the misfortune to play.
FF-VII was the last JRPG I've ever played. It annoyed me so deeply that I swore off of the entire genre.

Best - I haven't played it yet. Always looking for perfection.

Worst - So far I would have to say http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/home/197244.html. Read one of the walkthroughs to see why its so bad.

Some people here think Oblivion is the worst game of all time? :cold:

Best: Morrowind. Amazing game; I played it for about 4 to 5 years, I'd say.
Worst: Don't really know; I haven't played many games I don't think I'd like. Even though it was completely my opinion, I'd probably say Assassin's Creed. Ridiculously repetitive I think. It was like Fallout 3 for me; I thought I'd love it, but I just couldn't get into it.

Oh, and behind Morrowind is Oblivion. Somewhere.

:biglaugh:
i remember the first phantasmagoria! completely ridiculous.. so many discs! and so many dead wives! lol! some of the murder scenes were pretty funny, though.. like the one where the magician dude is force feeding the woman a bunch of guts through a funnel... over the top. the woman you played as ran sooo sloowwwww!!!! c'mon!! there's a man possessed by a demon trying to kill you!!! RUN!!!!!
can't even imagine how cheesy a sequel would be! why!?!? i didn't think anyone else actually sat through that horrible game! wow...
sierra made some pretty funny games around that time.. i remember playing a bunch of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Quest_IV:_Roger_Wilco_and_the_Time_Rippers. i'd say that one was really good, though.

the single player campaign on codmw2 was frustrating. you somehow managed to miss EVERY big jump.. and every soldier you played as got killed at the end of their sequence!! UGHGHG!!!! gimme a break!!! i thought they were supposed to be special forces dudes... getting shot in the face is no way to reward someone for completing a mission! stupid stupid stupid!!!
