What is the point of feeding then?

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 2:07 am

So i heard that one of the changes to normal vampires is that you won't be attacked by people because you are on stage-4.

However if that was true, then what is the point of feeding for a normal vamp?

You will still take sun damage, just to a lesser degree. Still, i think this new idea is just making it more easy to play as a vampire. One of my characters plays as a stage-4 vamp, and its challenging, but with that challenge comes fun. So i think it's just stupid to take it away.

Why will it lose it's challenge? You're only not getting attacked by friendly NPCs, there is still the 100% weakness to fire and the major weakness to the Sun. If you want more challenge up the difficulty and/or stop being OP and gimp yourself like no enchanting or smithing or whatever. Stop complaining over nothing unless you're just complaining to relief stress. If you are then in does matter what I say.

The challenge comes from the friendly NPCs attacking you that is obvious.

Anyways, I am curious what this vampire overhaul will add other than the NPCs not attacking. I wonder what other things will be added to the vampires what other positive and negative effects. The only thing we really know is that friendly NPCs won't attack.

It unlocks the perks for vampire lords.

You don't get it. Vampirism isn't suppose to be an all fun power-up with no drawbacks. There should be many benefits, yet there should be drawbacks. And the mob of angry villagers was one of the most significant of these. It was great to run around the towns in the dark as a blood-starved vampire with the villagers chasing after you.

Now that experience is taken away. And for what? Because the Vampire Lord gets attacked when he shifts out? I honestly think Bethesda shouldn't of removed the 4th stage effects. I am confident they did it to appease the other people who kept complaining about being attacked. If they hated it, then they should of cured it.

With blood bottles and new feeding animations, it would be twice as easy to revert back to stage 1 without needing to sneak into a person's home. But Bethesda completely changed vampirism. I hope it will be like Oblivion, then. People refuse to talk to you in stage 4. You get more powers such as "Reign of Terror" and other things. The eyes and appearance should be the same.

Well not all NPC's. Even if your at stage-4, the people who you have completed quests for will not attack you. So that does help when most of the world is out to get me when they see me :)

It's like they are trying to force vampire players to BE a vampire lord to get the whole "world against me" thing. Because now only vampire's in vampire lord form can have everyone attacking them.

But what if i want to play a vampire who isn't a vampire lord? Why should this be taken away from me?

I liked sneaking around, using the calm spell, and getting supplies from friendly NPC's (the ones who still don't fight you on stage-4 since you completed a quest for them) all the while trying to stay undetected during the day.

I think the the "overhaul" to regular vampires may make the stages go backwards, or change the powers in some way. That way feeding won't be a power down.

Hmm...well I don't get it and I don't really care too because I like going to a town getting my sh*t done and go on my way without being interrupted. All I know is that when the dlc comes out I'll have a reason to try out a mage vampire lord or a thief. Everyone who doesn't like it will have to deal with it because most people myself included will probably like it better.

Still, if you want you can attack a guard and get a bounty and I'm sure you'll have the same effect though I'm not really sure since I never had a real reason to play as a vampire. If you like it that much I guess you can not get the dlc but I'm sure you'll want to play it. Well sorry that your experience with the game will diminish but hopefully the new content will hold you over until you get over it.

Your just someone who doesn't like a challenge....or someone who wants all the vampire benefits without the downsides. Let me guess, your also someone who wouldn't want people attacking you just because your a werewolf who has happened to change into beast form right in front of them.

That is one of the downsides to being a werewolf....and if your someone who likes being in werewolf form many times you have to deal with that challenge.

Also, man up. If you don't want people to attack you, don't be stage-4. It's not hard keeping track on what stage your at, and it's easy to feed.

Because the current Sith-esque eyes we have are better than obnoxious glowing ones.
