What do you want in New Vegas

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:54 pm

There should be:
-All the Weapons from the series Old and New Weapons
-Oblivion Armor System(Morrowind had too much armor slots)
-Content, Content, Content! I want Oblivion Style Content
-Silly dark Comedy the series had and a crap load of Easter Eggs

And by the way the Train/Railroad Idea was actually real, the NCR tried and I think is still trying to make a railroad to connect the East and West Coast

If anything i would want some sort of bad [censored] [censored] gun like a 44. revolver that has a HUGE capacity like 50 rounds and also fires incredibly fast and looks so cool i had this idea for something that looked like this
Standard revolver but with a bunch of components altered and things added to it heres the list
1. Hammer replaced with a miniature bull skull
2. Nails hammered through the bottom of the gun so you have a more effective pistol whip (if they implement a melee for guns system into the game)
3. maybe to barrels for maximum shooting capability :D

for it to hold 50 rounds it would need to be magazine feed, in my book that is a insult to any revolver, a revolver uses a cylinder with 4-8 shots and if I see anything else I?ll bang the lead designer of New Vegas with a revolver until the shape and design of a revolver is imprinted into his head

there revolver rant over

Heh.

Make it have three barrels with three cylinders, each holding eight rounds. One pull of the trigger fires all three rounds simultaneously. It also instantly breaks your wrist, destroys the weapon, and causes mild HP loss due to the shrapnel embedded in your body.\

Now that I've got THAT out of my head...

... I want the ability to live any damn place I like. Furthermore, I want to be able to CUSTOMIZE that place. Crates and ammo cans and boxes and barrels... let me have some that I can MOVE around. Let me drag things to places that normally you couldn't move. Like a bed. Hell... like a dirty old mattress I found out in god only knows where. Then just let me rig up my storage, I'll barricade the place myself, and we'll call it even.

The ability to construct barricade objects would be interesting, too.

Make them mobile until you activate them or some such... then they become static. You could build a fence that way. Perhaps they're destructible or some such?

If I could do that... I'd be happy.

* more clean areas, more varying environments.

* lots of neon lights

* pump action shotgun with decent sound effects

* big focus on character builds, with weapon specific perks and abilities

* ability to become kingpin of vegas

* DECENT 3RD PERSON POV!!!! the motion mechanics of FO3 were really bad and 3rd person POV was terrible

* no more bullet sponging. a temporary break in sponging should be required

* no proliferation of repairs. i shouldn't be able to repair a plasma rifle in a sewer

* melee more dangerous. i should seriously fear a super mutant up close rather than prefer it that way. knives and swords should be deadly in sneak

* better sneak mode

Reminded me how awesome it would be to have some nice Old West aspects to this game. You know, guy with a big ol' desperado mustache and a six shooter.

The one thing this game has to have, just by default being in New Vegas, actually two things, are a Tommy Gun and some nice big ol' (censored) of a Revolver just primed to blow some skulls out. Yes, please.

I'd like to see bows (atleast), and maybe crossbows. The first is one of the most primitive hunting tools and the second is just Bow+stick, i think they would fit in very well and be totally fun to play. I mean who doesnt want to sneak up on some raiders, shoot em in the head, then go down the trail and see that they have arrows sticking through their body like cool little pin coushins :D.

Okay I've got some serious problems with Fallout 3, and they are important factors too a good game...

_______________________________Iron Sights______________________________________________________
Okay guys you know how in Fallout 3 you always hold your gun like Rambo? Well when you look down the barrel of a gun there is a sight, made of iron, an *iron* sight. In real life this takes away the guess work of guns, in real life you could never hold a gun to your stomach and guess the trajectory (like in Fallout 3) and nail someone in the head with a bolt-action rifle from more than ten meters away unless your lucky, and I've got a hard time believing I'm the luckiest guy to play Fallout 3.
_______________________________V.A.T.S. "Matrix"__________________________________________________
It would be nice if you could choose how you view kills in V.A.T.S., I almost never get to see the camera locked on the bullet.
_______________________________Other____________________________________________
_______________
I found that the array of weapons in Fallout 3 left much to be desired. The combat shotgun is basically a replica of a WORLD WAR TWO *NOT THREE*

http://i346.photobucket.com/albums/p424/Shpeshell/ppsh-41.jpg
The real noticable difference if the grip of the weapons, the rest is pretty similar.
My point? A good half of the weapons in Fallout 3 look OLDER than the ones today. The alien blaster looks like a toy! Try putting some real effort into making them look advanced! I want my star wars!

If the devolpers walk away with one word from this post.

First off the first part of your post made me hit my head on my desk i was laughing so hard :D

As for a buildable base, that would be cool. You could make a base like the mutants did maybe bring a captive or two back (nudge nudge wink wink)

And if they MUST have fast travel i;d say you get a beacon that lets you fast travel to your home or something like that. I'd prefer not to ahve fast travel tho. I'd rather have to take the nuclear powered steam train to the closest town and huff it over. Kill a radscorpion or 2 on the way :) Barge in th front door and yell "Honey im hooooommmeee!' then throw the rad scorpion at her feet and say and i brought dinner!. :D

I would really like a greater variety of places to live. Even just a nice little abandoned house in the middle of nowhere would be nice to be able to live in. Bed, storage space, sink, fridge. I remember in Morrowind there was a house you could sneak into, kill the housekeeper, and just make your own. I'd love to be able to do something similar in Fallout. Kill a sheriff and set up shop in his house.

My character had alot of high tech stuff as well as low tech but he needed more traders with deeper pockets to buy the junk I salvage off those I kill. It svcks when you got two 100% CND tesla armor sets and you can only sell one once every game month cause they didnt have the currency.

So I would have to add more traders with deeper pockets to my list of what I want in New Vegas.

That'd be nice, but better richer traders would have to be joined by something to actually spend your riches on.

Correct, and that would go hand in hand with the gambling and the live "advlt" entertainment in the strip clubs. The currency you get from your saluaging can be spent in one of three ways for me, gambling, booze, or women.

Which all turns back to wanting to be able to see live entertainment music wise, and stripper wise. But what are the odds I would get to see topless nudity atleast at the strip clubs if their even implimented in game. So in the end I cant complain cause the game so far is looking good to me so far

First: Glad that amused you. I hit my head on the desk laughing so hard while I was writing it.

Also, I agree for the most part with fast travel. I never liked it. Not in Oblivion. Not in Fallout 3. I much preferred, at MOST, locations at which you might get a 'travel service' sort of option to FAST TRAVEL you to another location in the game. Sometimes it was a one way trip!

The idea of fast travel confuses me. It takes away from the part of the game that really feels the most fallout-y... WANDERING.

You're supposed to be the Lone Wanderer, aren't you?

The Vault Dweller was a lone wanderer.

The Chosen One was a lone wanderer.

(with allies like Ian and Myron... you usually wind up alone again pretty quick anyways.)

And lastly:

After some careful consideration... I have decided that I agree with the one guy who suggested letting the player create their own faction. Certainly that couldn't be TOO hard. One would think that, after all of this time, they could figure out how to do that. The creation of my own particular faction... (be it a business, a merc crew, a band of specific raiders) ... would be right there on the top of my list of amazingly badass things to be able to do. I don't just want followers. I want employees! I want a means of making a REAL change in the wasteland. And perhaps make a fortune too.

Let me run my own caravan. Let me bottle water. Let me be the Captain of a mercenary group. Let me become a raider king!

I don't just want to JOIN some group and take over.

I want to EARN the loyalty and respect... or perhaps FEAR and respect... of a group of individuals.

And then I want to name them.

And make money off of the effort.

Completely agree, and thank you for appreciating my username! I always found myself trying to play a western type character in FO3, with Vance's duster and always using the .44. I really want to see that Tommy Gun and big revolver, preferably a .500, (AKA Elephant Gun), a .357 or a .44.
And I want to be able to turn into a ghoul. Make it like Oblivion, where it is part of a quest like how Vampirism was in Oblivion. Maybe there could be a joinable faction of ghouls, and if your reputation with them is high enoug, the leader could turn you into one. Downsides: Charisma is lowered for humans, and so is Reputation. Upsides: Healed by Radiation, and you get an epic, raspy voice.

Rather than make your own, because while fairly reasonable it strikes me as singularly unlikely, i'd like it to be possible to take over a group. Say given that you are a high enough rank in a given group you might murder the leader and then be confronted with another high ranking member who runs up demanding an explanation. Given high enough charisma/knowledge of the world/rank you could convince him (and thus the faction) that you were acting in their best interest and will lead them to victory.

One could then demand that they wipe out a settlement, or just continue business as usual bringing you their gains, or perhaps form an alliance. If that then had an impact on the world (actually wiping out a settlement and leaving just a few ruined buildings and destitute villagers, or bringing a settlement prosperity) and resulted in people treating you differently it would be pretty damn nice. Allow you to demand that any NPC within that group then accompany you on your travels.

That'd be sweeeeeet

*Edit - Response to Josey Wales*

In the Fallout universe i dont think it'd really be feasible to turn into a ghoul, but theres no real reason why one couldn't be a ghoul from the get go, well not that i know of yet

Hehe... an epic raspy voice that actually might win you some favors with the standard human.

If nothing else, you could perform Louis Armstrong songs at the casino.

lol Now that you mention that role playing as a western type character, I try to play a survival type character like Burt, I would like to see that hand held "anti tank" rifle that Burt had in Tremors 2, Make it hard to get but make it where it would take down 4 mutties standing single file.
