What do you want in New Vegas

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:30 pm

Completely agree, and thank you for appreciating my username! I always found myself trying to play a western type character in FO3, with Vance's duster and always using the .44. I really want to see that Tommy Gun and big revolver, preferably a .500, (AKA Elephant Gun), a .357 or a .44.
And I want to be able to turn into a ghoul. Make it like Oblivion, where it is part of a quest like how Vampirism was in Oblivion. Maybe there could be a joinable faction of ghouls, and if your reputation with them is high enoug, the leader could turn you into one. Downsides: Charisma is lowered for humans, and so is Reputation. Upsides: Healed by Radiation, and you get an epic, raspy voice.
That would be SIIICK .500 cal elephant gun best weapon in the game. something like this

I want a follower system for each faction.

For example, if you side with Caesar's Legion you should get a pool of slave followers to choose from that have different skills tagged and different personalities. One could be an ex merc, one could be a thief they caught stealing from them, one could be a retired engineer etc.

The same should go with the NCR, you could choose from a couple of Rangers to take along with you, like a Sniper, Medic, Demolition Expert etc.

Perhaps you could even be able to customize their face/hair as well or maybe they could just be randomly generated with each playthrough.

I prefer more obscure revolvers making a guest appearance

like the http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg184-e.htm and http://airbornecombatengineer.typepad.com/photos/weapons_firearms/mateba357magaimace.jpg

I'd like a Snub Nosed Revolver too. Always just looked like a vicious little (censored to me. Should do hellacious damage but only be at all accurate and point blank range. I'd love to just whip that thing out on an NPC that had gotten on my last nerve and unleash hell. That big old revolver might be more intimidating but it also looks kinda pretty. A snub nose just looks like its made to do bad bad things. I likes that.

What about a cattlemans carbine? They were basically a rifle stock attached to a long barrel black powder 6 shooter revolver. Cabela offers one for sale a reproduction of the orignals but not too cheap, I would go for that though as a guest appearance as far as revolvers goes.

I like the looks of that Mateba. Could probably blow the head off of a Mutie in an instant.

I'd also like to see a Captive Bolt Pistol make an appearance. A one 'shot' kill but you have to get ridiculously close to shoot someone with it. It's essentially an oxygen tank with a tube attached that, when you pull the trigger, blows a rod of air that puts a hole in anything. If you've seen No Country For Old Men (which you should definitely see), you'll know what it looks like: http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/42947000/jpg/_42947171_bardem_203300.jpg

For New Vegas, first off, they need to pronounce Nevada correctly, not like how most of the U.S. say it, they need to do their research and learn to pronounce Nevada correctly (trust me, I live in Reno). Mispronouncing Nevada would be a great way to irritate a lot of Nevadans who buy New Vegas. I'd also like them to improve how they use a lever-action rifle if there is one. In Fallout 3, they had a really goofy way of reloading and recocking the rifle. The rifle doesn't need to be pulled out in front of you to recock the rifle and in most models, the reloading is not done through the barrel end of the tube magazine, it is usually right under the chamber. This website shows what I'm talking about, there's a feeder right under the chamber to insert rounds into the magazine. http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/1894Centerfire/1894.asp

i would love to have you continue your chracter on from Fallout 3 and maybe even upgrade the level cap more.

like they did in Mass Effect 2, but of course they would need a certain story of how your guy from DC went to Vegas

You know what would be interesting?

If your dumb **** character stopped playing Rambo and flipped up his iron sights.

Pretty random, but i'd like a trenchcoat similar to that worn by Vance/the Sheriff in Fallout 3 only with a small Smiley Face pin on the left lapel.

In general though just as many weapons as possible from Fallout 1 and 2 and as many references as possible to events in those two games.

I say a definite no to bringing your character from Fo3 into Fallout: New Vegas. Whatever is Fo3 should stick to that particular storyline, mostly at least. Not that I hate Fo3, but all that 'Let's bring everything across the coast' stuff doesn't make too much logical sense.(Especially since it's only three years later, and most wouldn't bother going all the way to Nevada.)

I'm fine, however, with a good number of references from Fallout 1 and 2, so long as it's not overdone and Fallout: New Vegas remains its own game-and interesting.

I think it was a style choice and gameplay balance, in vanilla Fallout 3 the only rifle like that was the powerful Lincoln repeater, plus it stood out more by not having the same feeding mechanism every guy expects it to have going for a style more akin to a Henry Rifle (just like the real repeater was), I don?t really see how the feeding system has to do with anything, you load it, you aim it, shoot and [censored] the level

I would like to wear different parts of clothing instead of just 1 full outfit with a hat or helmet. I liked how in Oblivion you got different pants, shirts, and shoes, and I would like to see that in New Vegas. It'd also be neat to add things like aypocolyptic jewelry, such as tooth and bone necklaces, scrap metal wristbands, and maybe pre-war things like broken watches or tarnished wedding rings. It also would be cool if you could get tattoos.

now thats a grand idea

a motorcycle you could ride, like the horse in Oblivion and more options for a house that you can use. FO3 touched on the idea but in order to get one , you either blew up the other, ot turn down the offer for the other, and both had their ups and owns. The Megaton home was bigger, but not as nice looking as the Tenpenny tower room which turns out to be really small. wasteland like vehicles are always nice to have, even one you could customize yourself.

If there's motorcycles, I want to be able to steal them if I have the key for them (you can steal it from the owner).

the following are a few things I think can be improved on and some ideas i think would be cool.

1) I want to be able to have a secondary weapon equiped so I could gun down some raiders here with my assault rifle here and chuck some grenades there with ease because i found the current system makes me want to bash my head against a wall like so :banghead:
2) I also want the real names for weapons such as M4A1 or M1911 i dont think thats too much.
3) I also want iron sights because they make the game feel less like a game and more like life.
4) I think fast travel should be cut out and replaced by other means of transportation such as motercycles.
5) I think the ability to actively decorate youre home would be cool like if you find a terminal in the wastes take it bring it back to youre house and plug that svcker in then make it so you can type whatever on it or do stuff like that with paper the writing you're own text thing.
6) I think you should go with the armor system in oblivion to.
7) I would like to be able to create and customize my own faction and faction hide out.
8) I would like to have the ability to have up to three followers or at least two. I get lonely in the wastes and Jerico can be a major Ahole
9) I like the idea of creating and naming you're weapons.
10) I would like more realistic damage because I don't wanna meet the guy who can take a box off 5.56 rounds to the back and still kill you. :nothanks:
portable auto turrets and laptop style controls for target params, power, and packing up also in this line portable tents you can put up in the wastes to get some shut eye complete with ammo boxes and med kit both stocked

it's the little things that count thats how you make reality and virtual reality indistinguishable

Bethesda I come before you as a mere man that I may make you gods

The feeding doesn't have much to do with it, aside from being displayed accurately for the gun nuts out there. It just doesn't make sense how he loads. I guess if i had a choice, I would make the firing of the rifle more akin to loading and shooting in real life, you can shoot it marginally quickly, but takes a while to load, not the opposite.

I would like to see the character hack
into slot machines almost like in Bioshock, and give them a better chance at
winning caps or w/e currency there using in this game. And maybe the character would get addicted to too much gambling?

just an idea tho :liplick:

My character had alot of high tech stuff as well as low tech but he needed more traders with deeper pockets to buy the junk I salvage off those I kill. It svcks when you got two 100% CND tesla armor sets and you can only sell one once every game month cause they didnt have the currency.

So I would have to add more traders with deeper pockets to my list of what I want in New Vegas.

i took care of the money problem by buying whichever decent weapon/armor they had and then have them repair it

anyways i would like to see useful pistols and a pump action shotgun with better sound effects
