Longer Gameplay.

Oblivion seemed to last months, Fallout3 seemed to last for weeks.

Can we have months of gameplay this time around? :)

WAAAH!!!! It worked, it worked!! :woot: check out the intelligent ape here-o (me.)

off topic:

Fantastic! :) Now all we need is a hand glider and a reason to use it there.

I agree. I am curious if we would be able to jump off the dam and fall to our death, or if we can "push" people off the dam sorta like the "cow tipping" feature in FO3.

I am also curious about the water though, in DC it seems like the nukes really did a number on the water level in game. I wonder if NV would have the water on oneside of the dam up to the top or if it will be a low water level like we saw in DC.

I would like to wear different parts of clothing instead of just 1 full outfit with a hat or helmet. I liked how in Oblivion you got different pants, shirts, and shoes, and I would like to see that in New Vegas. It'd also be neat to add things like aypocolyptic jewelry, such as tooth and bone necklaces, scrap metal wristbands, and maybe pre-war things like broken watches or tarnished wedding rings. It also would be cool if you could get tattoos.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. That's one of the few things I didn't like about Fallout 3.

Nuclear-powered steam engines, armed with mounted miniguns and a bulldozer blade in front, working a railroad line between Vegas, Reno, Boulder City, etc

Actually possible since there's a railroad museum in Boulder City

More stat and skill effects in combat (at least in HC-mode). I want to actually feel the difference when I raise my skill.

I'd like maybe a motorcycle to ride around on. Oblivion has horses and I think New Vegas needs a vehicle seeing as how nearly everything is still intact.

I like that idea, its even plausable and honestly doable in real life since all your doing is using the nuclear reaction to turn water into steam. Same thing is done with our current nuclear powered subs and aircraft carriers.

I would be all for that. But I do expect to see some form of major transportation though otherwise whats the point in having that huge tunnel bored into the side of the mountains to the left of Vegas in the teaser trailer.

There should be more clothing slots in this game. Morrowind was good for this, Oblivion and Fallout 3 were not. Clothing was too limited as to variety of what you could wear.

We should have slots for clothing, and some clothing have limited DR rates. This should include, Pants, Shirt, Hat or Headgear, Sunglasses/Eyeglasses and Shoes. There could be a slot for Gloves.

Armor should replace some, but not all the clothing slots. Shoes/Boots and Headgear should be Armor or Clothing but not both. There should be Armor pants and Armor Shirts that can be worn with or without clothing. Pants and Shirts can be worn under Armor so no need to remove those or put on a shirt if I take off my Armor. Unless I choose not to wear clothing under my Armor.

As for any Stat or Skill increases or decreases with each article of clothing, that is another discussion for another thread. Which we have around here somewhere.

- revenge related quests.

i would love for something to happen where you have the option to seek revenge on behalf of someone or something. for example, let's say you've been helping out some old woman or town out. your character has been nice and helping in some side quests related to that place for a while now. then you return to that place or person to find out that some gang of raiders or some corrupt caravan or someone came and killed/destroyed the place. then you have the option to start a quest to find out who did it and seek revenge. basically you have to search and ask around for clues. eventually you can hunt down the person(s) involved and when you do, they are fully aware of why you came. perhaps they beg for mercy. perhaps they feel no remorse and try to kill you. i think it could lend to some interesting moral choices.

Also the skill upgrading wasn't exactly to my liking at first. I liked Oblivions where the more you did something, the higher your skill pertaining to that something got. I think using small guns should raise my small guns skill and sneaking around should raise my sneak skill. But I guess when it comes to speech and bartering, there's no way to really improve that I suppose.

I like that idea. :) Especially how it involves investigation, always a nice aspect in the storyline and/or a quest.

I'm hoping there's more variety in music, if this hasn't already been said. I liked that one song, 'So Long, Mom' that was brought up in one of the previous threads on this board in particular-though I doubt it'll be used, it was amazingly perfect for the Fallout setting in my opinion.

The levelling system between the TES series and the Fallout series is completely different, like chalk and cheese.

The TES system was that you improved skills by using the skill you were trying to improve.

The Fallout system to put it at it's most basic is you level up by gaining experience through questing, killing foes and suchlike. When you levelled you gain skill points to show your characters better understanding of how to do things, partially through use, observation, training and suchlike.

Both systems have their pro's and con's.

To round off the Fallout series through all of it's incarnations (Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Brotherhood of Steel and Fallout 3) have used the experience/skill point levelling system.

On that form of leveling up, yeah all the previous Fallouts have used it-from what I know. Which is probably the main reason Fallout 3 used it. If it hadn't, I bet you there would have been complaints, and even I personally sort of prefer Fallout 3's system. Oblivion's was quicker to reward you, but in smaller amounts, and it was annoying having to wait to a certain point before you could really 'level up.' It's just simpler to me sticking to the Fallout system, and it'll avoid more complaints.

PLUS, since Obsidian will be working on New Vegas, I'm guessing they're more comfortable with the Fallout form of leveling up than the Oblivion form anyways. And them being more comfortable with doing anything=better quality of that thing....so I say they just stick to the old style.

- some treasured gun.

in the same way the zelda games has the master sword, it would be kind of rad if fallout new vegas had some quest where you have the option to obtain a map to a treasure that's hidden out in the desert somewhere. when you reach the treasure you find out that it's a six shooter that had been modified or something that had belonged to a legendary gunfighter years ago. so the gun basically has a super fast firing/reloading rate and can do extreme damage.

i always liked how lincoln's repeater was a found gun in FO3. to me, it was kind of like Fo3's "master sword" in a way.

Amen Brother

also inject some steroids into the guns, most of them didn?t sound, look and feel powerfull, the auto shotgun in Fallout 3 was a joke looking like a lower caliber smg and he ripper sounds like a kitchen tool not a chainsaw blade of death to just name a few things of.

If anything i would want some sort of bad [censored] [censored] gun like a 44. revolver that has a HUGE capacity like 50 rounds and also fires incredibly fast and looks so cool i had this idea for something that looked like this
Standard revolver but with a bunch of components altered and things added to it heres the list
1. Hammer replaced with a miniature bull skull
2. Nails hammered through the bottom of the gun so you have a more effective pistol whip (if they implement a melee for guns system into the game)
3. maybe to barrels for maximum shooting capability :D
