What is your LEAST favorite race?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 4:15 pm

I LOVE being a Bosmer. My highest level character in Oblivion is a Bosmer female. In Skyrim, my Bosmer female heads the Dark Brotherhood and I have a Bosmer Male who heads the Thieve's Guild. We are overlooked and underrated by others, but we are the true leaders of Tamriel!

I LOVE being a "pure" archer. I use restoration magic and that's about it. I carry daggers but never use them. I kill most of my prey at range, but I melee quite well with a bow now that I have fast draw.

Least Favorite? Can't get into playing a beast. But those I actively dislike? When I play an elf, I don't like the Nords who are so racist. "Skyrim for the Nords" got old real fast! Especially when I, a Bosmer, was saving their behinds. When I play a Nord, well I guess it's the Altmer.

Also I have seen a lot of people say that they hate Bosmer, but I have yet to hear a decent explanation as to why. Is it just because they had annoying voices in Morrowind? Because they totally did, but I don't see why they are deserving of such undying hatred just for that.
In Oblivion, I could not shake the feeling that the bosmer men were all six offenders, and somehow I pictured them having beer bellies.

They are oh so different in Skyrim, and that's a good thing :P

Like so many others here, the beast races are probably my least favorite but it's primarily due to the fact that they just seem a bit out of place in the world since Morrowind. In Morrowind, the fantastical landscape with the giant mushrooms, silt striders and insect-husk type of structures made them much more believable to me. The world of Skyrim is much less alien in nature, more like a pre-historic era of Earth really which makes it seem more unlikely of an intelligent animal race evolving.

I do, however, like hearing the Khajiit talk....love the spanish accents

Easy question, far easier than "What's your favourite."

Bretons. Followed closely by Imperials.

I think their both easy. Elves are racist and Argonians are awesome. They are looked down upon, but have ultimately fought off what the rest of tamriel couldn't, the Empire.

For me its got to be either the Altmer or the Bosmer. Because i always play as a stormcloak and being an Atmer stormcloak worshipping Talos just feels a bit stupid for me. I also dislike the beast races because of the tails, i mean its just weird being a heavy armor wearing death machine with a fluffy tail sticking out of your backside.

To play as? Breton and Imperial. Just not that interesting of race choices to me.

In the game overall? High Elves. Most of which are part of the Thalmor Embassy which I despise.

Altmer. Also, I don't like Imperials, Nords or Redguards just because they're too 'normal'. I prefer the beast races.

I'd probably have to say my least favourite race would be Argonian. That's not to say I dislike them, I've just never been able to get into them so to speak.

My list worst to favorite and a quick why:

Altmer-Jerks with gold skin, too haughty. Don't like how the magic weakness traits were removed from them.

Imperial- Bland really, I liked them in oblivion, but they just pale in comparison due to being the Thalmors b%&ch now...

Bosmer- SOOOOOo whiny in Oblivion...may give them another chance as they are less so now. Also, they look kind of fake compared to the other races.

Orcs- This is where the list gets cool...awesome racials, but they don't make my top of the list.

Khajiit- Look way better now and I love their voices. Night eye is sweet.

Argonian- Great redesign on them, look more like lizard dragon people then the awkward design of marrowind and weird heads in oblivion.

Breton- Amazing race, great history, love the mage court ruling body. Love a good necromancer too and they fit the bill.

Nord- Vikings, enough said.

Redguard- This is a Barbarian race/calss if their ever was. My first skyrim toon was a redguard barbarian and next was a redguard paladin. Adrenaline rush is wicked and they look cool.

Dunmer- Normally the first character I always play in TES games. Great background (even if they are cruel and xenophobic) that is well designed and flushed out especially due to Morrowind. Great casters and stealth toons and I always at some point play a Dark Elf Assassin...just love the feel to it. The redesign they recieved between Oblivion to Skyrim is great as they no longer feel like they glow anymore, they feel like the Dunmer I remember from Morrowind...now I just wish the Mora Tong was back (I think I spelt that wrong).

They don't have "kawaii" females with huge mammary glands, wide hips, big bottoms and impossible haircuts/makeup.

Redguard, probably.
The only race I cannot roleplay. Their lore just seems to have been written on the back of a postcard the moment before Arena was released. That said, before I played an Altmer I couldn't stand them at all.

sadly I cannot love the elves of any type. I've tried and failed to make one that I could follow or watch on killcam and I just can't. I don't enjoy their expressions and I have a hard time with their movements.

I'm sad. They're really beautiful as NPC's... sorta... I just don't enjoy them as much as cats and humans.
