I believe that no matter who wins, NCR will have taken control over the region by next Fallout game that takes place in the region.

I hope not.
NCR seems to be losing their touch.
They're not as interesting anymore.
Becoming rather bland IMO.
If something happens and they become a more interesting faction then for sure.
But like now?
Ugh.

Would be nice if they after their battle with Legion became no better than they were and became a far more strict society that don't let it's citizens leave the cities/towns and forces them all into work programs for little food, water and barely any money and spends all their resources on their greedy empire.
A far more darker NCR.
Would like that.
NCR now is just a bunch of loose beige sticklebricks ready to fall over.
Boring IMO.

At least this time they have to choose between 4 paths.
Can't go halfsies on something or just ignore one path.

NCR or House. I'm betting House. The House always wins, after all (except when i kill him :P).

None of them. I don't think any of them will because the game was set up to have multiple endings. Why should they shake it all down and pick just one? That would be defeating the purpose. No ending is better than the other, they're just different. No faction is better than the other, again, they are just different. It's way too personal for the player to pick only one, this isn't Highlander where there can be only one, this is New Vegas and we do have a choice.

I think it will be closest to House's but not the same as the one we get.

House's ending, as it is, would leave it too easy for him. Both major factions running away? It'll be a while before either can return in major force and let's face it, between the Lucky 38's anti-air capabilities and those securitrons any invasion of Vegas would likely cripple the NCR's army...it just wouldn't be a feasible step to take straight away.

That would leave House too strong for the chaotic story to continue (and let's face it, the Fallout universe seems to despise order) so I think it will be partly House, maybe he wins, but only just, maybe neither faction has it really kicked out of them, maybe House simply can't follow through with his plans and Vegas falls into disrepair (though that would be a really cheap step...)

I think if we take any of the endings the only one which doesn't leave one side with a massive advantage is Yes Man's, which just leads to anarchy, something it seems to be moving away from.

Legion winning results in the NCR in serious trouble, NCR winning leads to them continuing their expansionist approach, holding massive territory but weakly, House winning leads to both sides getting beaten up and a vastly powerful city state working on making itself even more powerful...

Dunno, none of them feel right to me.

Canon>player choice.

This isn't Mass Effect, can't have multiple "what if" storylines.

I wouldn't like the thread to derail into that, I thought it was bout "which ending do you think will be best for the next game in terms of setting and story and why?"

IMO NCR is just boring now, yeah yeah they're landgrabbers and try to bring forth democracy but I just think they're bland now.
If they win then we likely get to see more of them being more boring in Vegas.

That's why I want Legion to win, they'll shake things up a bit with their culture and NCR will become more desperate in trying to hold control over their settlements which will likely make them a more strict society and hopefull darker.

If House wins then... Yay?
Legion is pushed back to Arizona and NCR is still feeding House with money.
Since House is rooted down in Vegas I don't see him making an appearance in the next game so I think it would be pointless for him to win.

And Yes Man?
NCR pushed back which might make them desperate and darker, which I like.
Legion is pushed back and have to regain their glory which means they will likely have struggles and make their story in Arizona more interesting, which I like.
And Yes Man starts up a robot army who tries to take over the world, which I kinda like while it's a cliché.
What I don't like about it is the general idea of setting everyone back, instead of humanity progressing they're mostly set back to anarchy again.
Since FO3 was anarchy on a disc I've had enough of it and want progress, not setbacks.

Anyway, it's not about who's better, it's about which of these four will give us the best storyline for the next game.
I consider it Legion, there is so much potential with them that it'd be a shame to just push them off to the side.
If not Legion then Yes Man solely for a robot army which might make Pulse weapons more useful.

"While heading to the bunker entrance" Well, I think the NCR is going to win out, I do not see the Legion, that smiling robot or Mr house winning out, the odds are just too great In my humble opinion. Besides, with the way the NCR is right now, i would not be surprised if they asked for our help, they could use it, if they could get over their little pride trip. Huh, listen to me talk about pride, we are the ones who are on a pride trip as well out west, oh well, i have patrol with some of my brothers and sisters.....

(As i stated in a previous thread, I do not see the Legion winning, and the odds of Yes man and Mr. House are not likely, so i think it will be NCR)

I think that it shouldn't be the NCR- It wouldn't add much value to the storyline
I think it shouldn't be the Legion- House predicted that the Legion would collapse soon in the future
I think it shouldn't be House- Him leaving for space in 100 years to colonize other planets wouldn't add much to the story, and leave NV empty
I think Yes-Man could be cool- Anarchy mixed with the Courier in a seat of power. That could mean an appearance by the Courier in future games.

What I'd hate: Yes Man, the courior would screw everyone over, good intentions or no.

If you do everything right the ending with yes man can be really good but you have to work with it, if you just play through without doing any side missions the ending will svck. My ending was awsome and I prefer it over any other faction ending.

The 2281 NCR are an even worser bunch of douchebags than they were in 2241, so personally I wouldn't want them to win.
Objectively, if they win, then Fallout in the core area is over, since civilisation (NCR-style) has won.

The Legion winning wouldn't be Fallout, it would be some anachronistic steam punk society.

So to maintain the status quo, Yes Man or House should win, leaving New Vegas area as a thorn in the eye of every patriotic NCR citizen.

The NCR has the most chance for a Canon ending, as the Devs clearly put alot of thought into the NCR faction, even the armor (Armor is based off of Great Britons WW1 uniforms). And its most plausible the NCR would win, because the Legion would crumble before even getting past Primm. House would be to futuristic for fallout lol. And Yes man would fall in the Anarchy.

I think it'll be House. The Legion has the whole of Arizone as their territory (possible future FO setting, they don't need Vegas to be important in the future), and Vegas wouldn't be Vegas anymore with them in control. The NCR would become too powerful if they were successful, to the point that no faction (including the Legion) could stand up to them. Yes Man would mean anarchy.
House would keep the spirit of Vegas in tact, and perhaps most importantly: An entire FO faction would be forever lost if House died. If the NCR is defeated it gets a pretty beating, but they'll be able to continue as a faction, same thing goes for the Legion. The "Mr House"-faction would be lost with House's defeat, and that would be a shame, now wouldn't it? :vaultboy:

I'd say it would be the NCR, as they need a big, powerful state in a Fallout game. Mr. House could be a possible ending, but then I'd say no more games would be based in the Mojave, as House would create a superstate wich would break the whole Fallout theme if a game were to be based here. His faction could probably destroy the NCR and that would change things up alot so I don't think it would be the House ending.

Also, if the producers just wanted to kill the Mojave storyline and leave it at that, then they could choose Yes Man, as New Vegas would be in ruins and just be another patch of noting. Caesars Legion wouldn't be a good ending as it would have to involve them again if another game was set near the Mojave.

After dwelling on it...I'd like it to go to the Legion under one condition:

The NCR isn't crippled.
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Legion superior in number and land size? Stripping Vegas of it's resourced, absorbing it's people into their army...it would leave CL seriously boosted and NCR having been dealt a massive blow.

If they go too far then CL would win, not to say omg that's terrible, it would just svck from the chaotic storyline perspective. It's dull (unless we end up with ultra mega west vs east punch up. that'd be epic lulz). So I want CL to win, Vegas to be all but destroyed (sorry House, you'd be too powerful and progressive for Fallout) and the NCR to be on the back foot but really committed to the war, maybe with a half decent freakin commander on the front line.

Besides, if Caesar dies you're left with Lanius, powerful, tactically strong but predictable. I could see a really good NCR general (Hsu? If he survived...) going toe to toe with him. That'd be nice, instead of the Mojave, where it was basically if you do nothing you get to watch the Legion butcher the NCR...

So yeah. Legion win but the NCR only get stronger from it ---> big war between the two. That'd be good, chaotic, bad for humanity...Fallout likes that kinda thing.

What I'd like: Legion. Cause it would be nice with a protagonist that was obviously tended to the gray scale.
What I expect: NCR, why just just beat this dead horse some more.
What I'd hate: Yes Man, anarchy? Again? No thanks.

It's assumed that with the upgraded protectron army the anarchy only lasts a few months.

What I want:Yes Man ending with the courier as the leader
What I expect:NCR ending
What would be best for the Fallout World:House. With his technology he will literally save mankind.

Well im sure when ever they have a lore changing event which has different endings, the new fallout game has any refernece to new vegas will always be jumbled up. For instance you could be talking to a random guy in a new fallout game (lets just say fallout 5) and he says something on the lines of "I used to live in new vegas, but when NCR left I thought I would head out here". By this we have the idea that any three of the endings (caesers, yes man or house) could have taken place but he could then mention something like "The NCR were having trouble on their homefront so they retained all their forces" this could be any of the endings. What im saying is, what happens in one game can be forgetten or be very vague in the next especially if the game has multiple choices. If a random guy in fallout 5 said something like "man, im glad ceasers legion won the battle at hooverdam" or " caeser has taken control of vegas" then we know this was the core ending which they wanted but I dont think this would happen as it would ruin it for all those who didnt support ceasers legion.

The NCR obviously is going to be on everyones minds as the appearance of a large goverment of normal soldiers in green and with presidents seem to be normal and therfor the good option as its what we would expect unlike ceaser legion which is a group of tribes fighting for old roman ways. so even if the NCR did bad things they would still be the prefferred choice.

I would like it if one faction took power for a little while, and the next game had resurgences of the other faction(s) and maybe new ones.
