who doesn't like having lydia as your follower?

She died in the very first dungeon I brought her to. On adept difficulty. Never used her again.
By Sithis does she complain, too.

Everyone realizes that all companions have the same AI right? Lydia is no more dumb than any other follower.

One other thing: is it really disturbing how the options for Lydia, after marriage, have a "barefoot and pregnant" theme to them? Cook for me? Jeez, you'd think this was medeival times or something.

All spouses cook, men and women alike.

Though sometimes they stop doing it after a while for unknown reasons.

Why all the hate for Lydia? She's still one of my favorite followers, with a bit of wabbajack-levelling every now and then. She's helped me clear Valtheim keep more times than I can remember!

I've come to a point where I don't like to travel with a follower, at all. They get in the way, do mindless things, say stupid things at stupid times, and they've lost their entertainment value for me.

This is one aspect of real life that Bethesda managed to work into Skyrim.

The cooking, or the fact that they stop? ;)

It's her choice besides it's not just Lydia who annoys me it's follower AI in general which more than anything come first to your target and attack them, not exactly good but there it is.

My main reason not to use Lydia is that she yawns constantly in a very few discreet manner.

I don't really use her, but not for that reason. I just don't want her to die out of my carelessness :/

I don't use the housecarls because they have no personality.

The follower AI is generally dumb, but Lydia is a bit dull and complains alot so i tend to choose other followers. I find mercenary followers more interesting than her tbh.

There are actually people who like her? She's some boobs in armor, with no dialogue of her own. Kill her whole town and what does she say? 'Honor to you, my thane.' lol innovashun.

I don't like using her, because she seems so ordinary. And monotonous. "i am sworn to carry your burdens".
Sheesh woman, its not like im whipping you or making you work overtime!

Lydia kept her oath and died for me some time ago. I do hope Boethiah is treating her well enough.

Only because her AI isn't Human quality, It makes me feel like i'm baby sitting a lot of the time, and it really restricts my attrition based playstyle.

I never used her tbh, once I found out about followers I was like "orly? Let's see who else there is".
Plus Lydia creeps me out... those eyes man, she's dodgy.

I spent a lot of time with that scary amazon chick who fistfights you in the inn, and Galador(?) the dude who you clear the tomb with.

I never keep a follower permanently, I always let them go after a while (usually after some epic battle they barely survive), let them keep their gear and throw 'em a few coins for their trouble (except the mercs, they already got their dues).

In general, I prefer fighting solo as the followers will often get in the way of my character's melee attacks, and they like to push him or run off when he's trying to sneak. My Nord is an adventurer, not a babysitter.

I've never tried using Lydia, as it's frustrating enough trying to fight alongside the companions. She keeps Breezehome clean, while my Nord is off adventuring.

At least she is loyal but Khjaro told me that I am not supposed to be there because we were saving a woman from bandits!
Edit.

You know, many people took Untregath the Unbroken with them, including me, guess because she is so charming.

I just don't like followers in general. In my experience all they have done is get in my way and get themselves killed.
