You honestly believe 20% loss in sales of a game would be fine to the developers ? Yes indeed any of us who bought the game (whatever edition) still had to shell out X amount and by todays standards rather alot for a computer game which again by todays standards doesn't last nearly as long (if it did, why the need to make more money on dlc instead of giving a complete game then providing dlc when the response from the consumers has called for it). I just think its in the interest of the developers to make minor adjustments that are OPTIONAL in order to satisfy the consumer, im not banging on about "customer service" however if a franchise wants you to keep coming back for more and making you want to put your hand in your pocket again for the release then its in their own best interests to keep as many of their "fans" happy as possible. Either way its all based on personal opinion, this is just mine however i do try to take more than one perspective before contributing to a topic....
Yes, the game has done very well, and it was known beforehand it would end. And some games end, people should just deal with it. You dont see Zelda forums "OMG fix this now" because you can never do the final mission.
Instead of people asking the devs to do something why not just ignore the final mission. It isnt hard, it saves the devs work, and you can still wander aimlessly, with no purpose just as if the game didnt end.
If people boycott the game because they cant reload a save and ignore the final mission, then fine, the devs told everone months before, that the game ended. If they cant get overt that then thats thier problem.
Also that argument is a strawman, most games these fays last 7 hours. My one character has 70 hours, more if I include reloads.
Another character has 40, and I have more characters planned. The games length is far above "todays standard" unless you can list games that can have over 100 hours ? Excluding multiplayer.
Lol fair enough, tbh it breaks my immersion if i haven't finished all the side quests (in a game such as fallout your always bound to miss a few) and then the game ends and i have to restart a whole new 60 hours or so gameplay just because of one small detail. Yes they say there's a no go back point but if you dont know you haven't completed all the side quests how do you know when to finish the main one ? Im not about to begin questioning the dev's but i think thats a pretty piss poor excuse for an option that would satisfy both sides.
Care about the quests that much then read the wiki.
