why can't players continue to explore, kill etc once New Vega

A story, yes, but the quality of the story is inconsequential to me. Again Fallout 3 and Oblivion :D

Sad but true

This was the dumbest thing i've heard, you can't have a roleplaying game without a role to play.

Ermm you got me wrong, I didn’t say they should not have a plot, games definitely need a plot. What I meant was the plots/storylines of games aren’t any good because they are games. Look at the history of games and compare it to the history of books and films. Games are many steps behind when it comes to plots/storylines because overall gameplay is the most important aspect of a game. Judging by some people’s reactions they expect the plots/storylines to be great works of fiction…..that’s not going to happen.

If you’re going to make comments on what I’ve said at least understand what I’ve said in the first in the place.

So just because its a game the story does not have to be that great?

Depends on the game and the crappy stories IMO is 90% due to the audience. Imagine if you where the head of EA for an example. Would you pour in 500 grand for story elements when the audience you sell it to, very first comment is: WTF? Just another lame zombie shooter? I wanna kill some nazis not boring zombies.

Okay, so you say that BECAUSE it's a video game, the story AUTOMATICALLY svcks compared to a movie?

Wow that was one of the stupidest things i've heard.

Ever.

Doom, a great game created in the days of "WHO CARE ABOUT A STORY, JUST GRAB A GUN A KILL!!!"

But this the new milennium, sad but, most people wont bought a game if AT LEAST have a story, if doesnt matter for me, but this time we are talking about a Role Playing Game, so, it must be a good plot

It makes the cap higher so you become a god, master of very thing. Ruined the story, it was not good to start with but ruined it. Optimus Prime was just stupid IMO. Bethesda caved and made never ending game play. Broken Steel also added really powerful Ghouls :banghead: and even more Enclave.

Broke game balance.
Broke roleplaying aspect with skill points and perks.
Brought in sponge health enemies.
Continued the story in a linear fashion to just drag it out more for no real purpose. (story-wise)
Once main quest was finished with BS then there was nothing left to do in the game-world and if just felt anti-climactic to just go back to Megaton, put all new crap away in a locker, save and exit the game.

Because it was a continuation of their boring-ass stupid story, once again, FORCES to help the BoS, no deviation from it what so ever. They couldn't get the talent back so Eden just dies regardless and no ending slides were made and the origionals weren't changed to fit in with the new stuff. The posion ending barely affects anyone and isn't even mentioned in passing by the people in the BoS or Purity, not even a single comment about how the water is making people ill, apartenty nobody in the BoS drank it or something? Brought a huge satilite into play raising the question? Why didn't they ever use it, killed off the Enclave... again and still had the sheer balls to say they might return someday? :swear:

You can blow up the Citadel and get the amazing reward of two telsa cannons and a unique magnum... with a stupid scope on it, also all the BoS turn hostile, I really don't get what the idea behind it was, surely if you go all that way, following the BoS, [censored]-svcking story, why would you blow them up, it turns them all hostile and status with the Enclave which of course don't disappear. Just remembered another thing that Lyons, old [censored] that he is said, something along the lines that the wasteland camps wouldn't realise for months that Adams was gone or some such bull. Reward for saving Citadel? Liberty Prime will be fixed with commercial camera's and sensor boxes!?! Oh and you can collect blood for a Paladin.

They [censored] their own ending over, rendering their half-assed slides moot and in some cases like the Enclave ones just flat out wrong, svcky DLC which continued the svcky main-plot.

EDIT: Oh yeah, what people above said, stupid impossible enemies which I certainly never [censored]ed for, [censored] masters pissed me off enough, before New Vegas gave me something better to play I was consined to just lowering the difficulty in face of such nonsense, those albinos have half the health of an Ogre Behemoth for god's sake.

Becuase even if your character was evil and you'd chosen to use the FEV in the water, you were railroaded into siding with the BOS.

The new enemies were little more than bullet sponges.

The level cap increase broke what little balance the game had.

Half the perks were stupid (Almost perfect and the Karma perks for instance)

And the big finale is being asked to collect cameras and power cells to go towards rebuilding Prime.

Ghouls aren't suppose to be that strong, it makes no sense at all for them to have the health they do.
And Enclave is a dead horse which Broken Steel kept beating at.

Sponges arn't challenge, at all.

Even on Very Hard, I could kill anything after level 24, I could take mass amounts of damage, and the Enclave is boring as an enemy that you are FORCED to fight.

B.S. [censored] up the ending more than it already was, and ruined any decent things in the game.

What gabriel said. Ghouls should not be that stronge. Them and other New enemies were just bullet sponges.

There's a challenge and there borderline ludicrous, ghouls are decaying husks of flesh, putting the remains of some metal armor over their shoulders should not make them that strong, it should make them collapse; the Enclave does not have that many people, simple as that, they should have been dead after Fallout 2 in all honesty, if you don't care and just want more targets to shoot well...

That's because everyone has an opinion on everything, I hate FO3's DLC, and I hate play-after-endings.

Giving everything EVERY player wants would be a horrible thing, it would take more than a year to do that.

Alot of people don't want play after the end. So therefore we are getting what we want :D. Obsidian has said they are not going to make a Broken Steel type DLC.

People believe that we need other Broken Steel, more level, and other ideas,

but some people dont want to. Because 66666 people complain about why the game dont have those features doesnt means that they hear them, and because 666666 other people are glad that those features arent in the game doesnt mean that they will not do that again, most of the time is the company who decides, not the fans
