Why Dawnguard will be vampires vs werewolves.

I wanna be a werepigeon, poop on General Tullius' car when he's at work, that'll teach that [censored]...

lol

But just to be clear, I wasn't kidding. Just sayin' :teehee:

1. In the beta test sign-ups one of the questions, as I'm sure most on here know is whether or not you play as a werewolf or a vampire. Bethesda would not ask this question if there were not ties to vampires and werewolves in Dawnguard. They want to be sure that there are some of each in the beta testing. I think this is the best indication that werewolves will get some love in Dawnguard.
So, is Dawnguard adding content for all the guilds from the game? They asked about that too. And something new for all the races is a must seeing the questions!

2. Vsions has said that the future looks good for werewolves and gave a little "wink" in one of the other threads that was discussing the possibility of werewolves getting some improvements or attention in the DLC (or at least future DLCs).
I'd say the bolded part is important.

3. Bethesda LOVES to try and keep secrets to surprise its audiences, which I appreciate. However, most of the time these are brought to light before they can be delivered the way Bethesda intends them, as surprises. Werewolves in general are a great example. Lets think back prior to release of Skyrim.
And that means they would use werewolves as the surprise again?

I'm pretty sure it's just vampires vs. vampire hunters.

It seems really unlikely that they'd want to limit the market for the DLC to folks who play either a vampire or a werewolf ...

You know... why do they have to fight? Why can't they work together against the humans for once instead of this weird hatred for one another?

Honestly either way I see this being a great DLC and if the dawnguard are vampire hunters cool if they are werewolves or have some kind of special power thats fine too I'm really looking forward to the new vampire form and the epic flaming horse mount.

Bethesda kept werewolves a secret pretty darn well.

I want the dawnguard being regular people with flaws and pros to them, not super powered wolf-like "Things"...

Maybe werewolves like sinding would get along with vamps.
Yeah right. Sinding cried because he tore a little girl to shreds. These vampires have no qualms about having corpses on their tables and large kegs of human blood, and also they speak of feasting on the souls of the living and the dead. Sinding is better off with Farkas, Kodlak and Vilkas, crying about their condition rather than embracing it like the minority.

If the dawnguard are lycans then they would WANT to blot out the sun which would let them hunt more...common sense

I hope the Dawnguard have special, unique powers, but definitely not lycanthropy. But I hope they accept werewolves. I want some new unique powers. And if they were werewolves.... well... CLICHE.

if anything maybe Dawnguard are Werebears? That would explain that picnic basket in the trailer.
Lol amazing :D

BTW I don't thing we will see much regarding lycanthropy in this DLC, but sure they will show up at some point. This rivalry its just too cliché to me and the only thing I remember every time I read vamp x werewolves in Skyrim, is Babette and Arbjorn getting along fine.

I for one think that the Dawnguard are infact Werehorkers, I mean if you have seen the trailer then it would totally make sense

I think the only way Bethesda could make werewolves vs vampires plausable in TES is if Hircine (Father of manbeasts) was commanding his werecreatures to attack the vampire's which is Molag Bol's creation. This can be explained by Molag Bol getting more powerful by the vampires blocking out the sun (their main weakness) and having free reign over nirn.

I only thought of this because of what the daedric princes did to Jyggalag.

Well, if it is, I hope that it is possible to side with the dawnguard without becoming werewolf

I think the Dawnguard are just Vampire Slayers just like the werewolves had the silver swords (cant remember the exact name.) If anything why woulndn't the Vampires and werewolves team up? Honestly i am now excited to have the chance to be a vampire. Having my own castle like area for my lair instead of just walking around now there are other vampires who wont attack me.

Edit: Even in lore the Werewolves were the creatures of the Night so why would they be chilling in day time.

That would be incredibly annoying. I really hope that's not true. We already have the Companions as a joinable faction that pretty much bars any character that doesn't want to be a werewolf after the first couple quests, we don't need another one of these.

Some individual werewolves among the Dawmguard would be fine and I'd even be for that. But not as a requirement, no thanks :yuck:

Agreed, as long becoming werewolf isn't a requirement I'll be okay even if dawnguard turns out to be a werewolf faction.

Yeah, I'd be a little miffed if their main focus or reason was their own lycanthropy, but it wouldn't be so bad. Still hoping they're mortals for the most part with some aligned werewolves or even vampires opposing the Volikhar.

I seriously doubt that werewolves are getting anything besides a perk tree in order to balance them out against vampires (who will most likely be getting one), and at this point in time, I think most people seem to be fine with that. The perk tree has been something that been demanded constantly over the past several months. But of course, there is always the possibility of them doing a little more than just that, though. Not that I'm saying that I don't want any further werewolf-related content, of course. I'm just not expecting them to really do much else with them.

Elder Scrolls: Twilyrim.

No I doubt it though. Werewolves might hold some small plot on the story but I bet they won't play any large role. Perhaps some other DLC though.

Werewolves are in this DLC
Check out what is going on on the forums right now

No new info on what they are doing story wise, but it is confirmed they are getting some additions.

And please, twilight is a movie about sparkling fairies and pedobears.

of all I have heard of it, I didn't hear anything about werewolves or vampires.

Skyrim's versions are the bada** ones from before things started getting screwed up.

Yes it does, at least I think I know all the recent news on werewolves in Dawnguard, anyway. I wonder if someone's going to have to go in and update the Tales of Lycanthropy mod for Dawnguard, though, which is kind of a problem right now in the modding community because there's no one currently working on it. I'm sure its compatibility will not get broken, though. AFAIK they are just adding the perk tree, which probably shouldn't really break anything.

Xbox user, so I haven't tried it.

Hope no mods are broken though, especially good ones. I modded Morrowind so I know that feel bro.
