After reading several reviews and listening to gamer reports, I am appalled at the fact that reviewers, like this imbecile

assume that a major piece of dialogue in New Vegas would somehow be faulty and slip through.

So, here is a little lesson.

In latin, the official Roman language, c's are pronounced only in their "hard" form, like "cat"

The letter combination "ae" is pronounced "eye", because these letters were also pronounced in a pure form, "ah" and "eh".
So, test it yourself, when you say "aheh" several times, it begins to sound more and more like "eye". This was the way it was pronounced.

So, remaining loyal to Latin for their highest leader, the Legion pronounces Caesar "K-eye-sahr"

I hope I can enlighten someone with this information.

I thought the old guy in Goodsprings pointed it out pretty clearly when he pronounces it both ways.

What I'd like to know is how they figured out the proper pronunciation of a dead language 200 years after a nuclear war that would have destroyed almost all evidence of ancient Rome ever having existed.

Books. The Followers of the Apocalypse was originally based out of a Library in Fallout. Caesar is a former FotA.

Because the proper pronunciation is probably listed in every single Encyclopedia or college level history book that covers that period currently in print in the Western World. And it should be pretty aparent simply from playing the game that a number of books and computers survived. The Caesar of the game was nothing if not a reader.

@Wcstorm- Thats because apart from a few people like me and a few other new fallout comers, alot of the people introduced by Fallout 3 consider reading dialogue and outdated thing.

I'm not surprised, but it seems like the big divide over whether or not New Vegas is a good game is being fought between the people who liked Fallout 1 and 2 and the "AHAHAHA MUNGO SMASH, MUNGO LIKES TEH SUPER MOOTANTS 'COS DEY MAKE DA FUNNY NOIZE WHEN I SMUSH THEM!" crowd that appeared with FO3.

That reviewer being a prime example... honestly, I stopped reading when he said the Capitol Wasteland was "infused with color".

The guy who wrote that "review" and I use that term lightly, is an idiot. Anyone who prefers the green sky, crap voice acting, and dull color pallet of Fallout 3 over New Vegas has no business doing a review. Personally I was glad to see Obsidian get a chance to work on a Fallout game and show people what their company actually meant for the game to be like. I loved Fallout 3 but in no way do I find it better than New Vegas.

I just read the review, in my mind his credibility dropped to zero when he started putting Fallout 3 on a God tier.

OP, you have to realize that Quintin Smith is an angry troll who intentionally exaggerates and stages screenshots to make Fallout: New Vegas look bad.

Good post. I didn't know this when I started the game, but upon hearing it in game I immediately researched it. Seems the least reviewers could do.

This was covered in an interview with either Mr. Avellone or Mr. Sawyer before the game was released. I dig it.
