Wish Bethesda would get the "house" right... give us

I wouldn't mind somthing like Battlehorn Castle, with a quest attatched (a long, epic quest). Clearing out lots of Draugr and Skeletons, prehaps a Dragonclaw puzzle and having to fight a mega tough Deathlord at the end before you can even claim the castle.

Wouldn't be hard to do.

After the main quest has been finished, it would be nice if you could rebuild Helgen. When you are there in the tutorial it already has a exterior from before the dragon attack, it would just need some new interiors to the buildings. Then you would have your own little mini-town

Cradle Stone Tower would be a cool place to have as well, Far as cottages, places like Drelas' Cottage would be nice to be able to be purchased and small changes done to the interior. There are other cottages like this one, that once its been cleared it never repopulates with people, Or being able to upgrade things like 'the abandoned shack' outside of Morthal, being its only used once in the entire game. It can be used, it does have a bed and a safe chest to store stuff in, but it would be nice if we could pretty it up abit on the inside, hell even add a garden to the outside...

I see so many possibilities for possible properties in the game its crazy.... There are alot of area's that once they are cleared, they never respawn, unlike others having radiant quests that will keep popping up in them as well as main quest parts.

No, but I do think I should be able to buy Dragonsreach as a house :D

When the CK is out, there will be a crap ton of house mods.
Aye, I'm making a mead hall akin to Thirsk, currently making a Viking ship model :)

Since no one seems to be happy and a limit had to be placed I would have made them modular. You buy, or are given through a quest, a lot and then build what you want/can from a selection of different modules. Or you should be able to chose a home from a list of different models (a shack, a cottage, a mansion, etc.).

It is a lot easier to simply propose than actually develop and if you take every bit and piece of the game and expand it like it's done of this forum the game would still be in the making with a release date somewhere around 2020.

Housing is just another let down from SS (Simple Skyrim). The houses are just generic banking devices...

I thought I could organize my own little Blade army with Delphine, but even that plan went to [censored].

Im so sick of this empty world. Its so beautifull, why cant it also be immersive and involving? Why can't I take over a house if I killed its proprietor?

The thing is that there seem to have been almost literally no time or ressource spent whatsoever on designing the game systems. They spent their load on graphics and building a great world, but everything in it was designed in 1995.

Housing is just one exemple of that. It wouldn't be hard to program the game to give you an ownership status on places (forts, towers, caves, etc) you have "cleared", as it is already programmed to recognize taht status and display it, but it seems like no one could be bothered to think it up.

Why would you want something so far away from merchants?

Atmosphere, immersion and scenery. Not everything is about instant gratification and convenience for TES fans.

ooo i like this idea :D then you could put either a house, fort, castle on the plot of land, each costing x dollars of course. but then how could they tie quests into them to make them more worth while to do? other then, just another house?

What?! now I know why I look like a elf! lol.... fable 3 had a limited selection of houses you could get as well. and Fable 3 was a closed world, not a open world. big difference between the two.

I just wish my kettle of gemstones would stop spilling them all over the floor whenever I leave... It takes FOREVER to put them all back.

And trying to fill a bowl was worse: Somehow, the jewels clipped through the bottom and I dumped all the gems trying to get them out. Gave my brother in the other room quite a laugh to watch, though.

I want a cottage, like Drela's, or a cabin, somewhere out in the wilderness.

Oh well. Console users don't get cool mods, so we're out of luck on this one. :sadvaultboy:

True but wouldn't an actual player house work nicely too? I love the alchemist shack (except for the fact that the ingredients nearby svck together) but I would like a little cottage in the woods with an alchemy lab much better.
There is a little house just outside of Riverwood where a witch named Anise lives. It has a basemant with an alchemy lab.

I wish I had a PC so I can use the CK. :c
Or... they could give us those houses for free.
A castle, on a mountain, with lightning and thunder.. with a creepy atmosphere.
How about it Bethesda? Oh, who am I kidding? :sadvaultboy:

Soon as I get the CK Imma fix the housing. Fill those dead spaces in Whiterun with cottages and kitchen gardens. Put more farms around the holds. Expand a couple of the quiter villages. Got a neat plan to turn Hroggstad Keep into a garrison town: "...visions of swastikas in my head, plans for everyone!" - David Bowie.

All i want is a false back panel to a secret basemant room full of weapon racks, some mannequins and bookshelves so i can store all my awesome gear safely.

Something like Delphine's secret room.

The Oblivion mod for the house basemant that connected all your houses to the same basemant. Loved all the space, display areas, etc.

Nah, it's a good thing we weren't as spoiled at the start. After Helgen, we only had the loot we could grab... we were at the lowest step. Raising to the top was fun, I wouldn't like to have a [censored] tower since the start.

What would the point be of getting other houses, then?

For the record, I don't like your idea.

I don't want some quaint house.

I want a fortress of solitude.

I want a place with weapon racks, cases, book shelves, mannequins so I can make my own story as I go.

I want it right at the beginning - level 1.

:) Heh, I know its a spoiled, entitlement post but (wah, wah) I want it.....

J
This will be our first DLC. :P

I hope it's not another Frostcraig Spiral. Yes I would love a "house" as described, but I want quests to go with it as well. Maybe we earn our Keep and not like the last DLC for Oblivion. I want a good 8 hour DLC for our house/keep.

No no no... you want to live like a true Dovah King.

Find yourself a cave with bandits. Murder everything. The cave is now your home. containers? PFFT. You're going to make a huge pile of your loot.
Mannequins? The corpses of the slain shall serve as such.
