Wish Bethesda would get the "house" right... give us

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:54 pm

I don't want some quaint house.

I want a fortress of solitude.

I want a place with weapon racks, cases, book shelves, mannequins so I can make my own story as I go.

I want it right at the beginning - level 1.

:) Heh, I know its a spoiled, entitlement post but (wah, wah) I want it.....

Why would you want something so far away from merchants?

Half the time i use my house as storage for selling things and the other half as a way to display items.

I agree with a great tower with all the crafting stations but it also needs a teleporter that puts you right down smack in the middle of whiterun or riften

At level one? :shakehead:

Or just a carriage or something (you're rich enough to own a tower or castle, you probably have a swanky carriage and some footmen on the payroll).

Or just have your spouse live there and sell her stuff.

No, but I do think I should be able to buy Dragonsreach as a house :D

When the CK is out, there will be a crap ton of house mods.

Sounds horribly unpleasant. No requirement, nothing you need to do, just "Here, have all the stuff that you are supposes to earn and pay for."

What would the point be of getting other houses, then?

For the record, I don't like your idea.

well i wish their were houses outside of towns so i could RP a lone wolf type, but anything bethesda made would be blown out of the water by modded houses anyway, so might as well just wait for mods.

It would be awesome. A nice museum with all important items and armor sets :)

You can just use one of the abandoned shacks as your house.

True but wouldn't an actual player house work nicely too? I love the alchemist shack (except for the fact that the ingredients nearby svck together) but I would like a little cottage in the woods with an alchemy lab much better.

i could, but i have to go online to see which houses have safe containers, and using those shacks is not so much being a lone wolf as it is being a squatter... theyre not really "yours".

I guess I'm just surprised by how all the houses but Hjerim (in my opinion) have such limited displays..... most have a few weapon mounts, a rack, and one mannequin.

I want a museum that shows my journeys, tales, and triumphs :)

Plus I like the lone wolf/remote mage/stoic warrior off in his stone tower silhouetted (sp?) against the the snowy, misty mountain as it rises into the night sky :P

It would be pretty cool to be able to build one (1) residence (outside of city/town/village limits) wherever you wanted it to be, and then to be able to assign one of your followers to guard it.
But to have it handed to you at the beginning of the game? No, thanks.

That kind of thing works in a linear game like KotoR and Dragon Age, but not for a open world game relying in progression.

I wouldn't mind a house like Underground Hideout from FO:NV.
Wouldn't mind playing 100-200k for it either :hehe:

Agreed. I was really hoping for some unconventional places to live (e.g: towers, castles, dens, caves, e.t.c). All the houses in Skyrim are just plain old houses and they are all in towns. Can't we at least get a house out in the wilderness.

Don't you see? If Bethesda gives us all the good houses right away, what will they sell us as DLC?

Pretty sure the enemies as well as the containers will respawn.

I want a simple hut in the woods near a waterfall with an outside alfresco area and a barbecue and views of snow capped mountains.

Especially the barbecue.
