I might use the level boost on a Mage...always wanted to try one, but never felt like doing ANOTHER round of 1-80 leveling. Does anyone know how they are solo?
Frost mages are the best imo with all their snares and such. I'm not sure how they are now since the last time I played WoW was a little under a year ago.

Since the Cataclysm redesigns in both class progression and the old world, solo-leveling a frost mage the classic way by rounding up tons of mobs and AoEing them down isn't viable anymore. That doesn't matter much anymore though since leveling for everyone has become trivial.
Frost mages shine the most in isolated 2v2 or 3v3 battles. In large battleground situations they really aren't that special. Nor are they very fun to play overall if you ask me. Fire is a much more enjoyable and rewarding spec.

I never played WoW because I heard stories of people getting extremely addicted and others committing suicide..

That's a problem with the player, not the game.

The people who get extremely addicted, there's probably nothing wrong with them. The suicides, while I've never heard of such stories, probably didn't have to do entirely with WoW.

What you're saying here can apply to any video game.

Cataclysm svcks, next one looks like it will svck more... they keep breaking down all the classes and taking away what makes them fun. Now they're taking away the ability to create an at least semi-unique build through talents. Waste of time. I cancelled my account a few months ago after I got bored of slogging through Cataclysm raids; I will not be going back.

I just finished the Westfall questline. Whoever said WoW doesn't have good writing? Excellent story.

Im so tired of hearing everyone saying its based off Kungfu Panda because its not look it up. They've been in the lore for awhile and allegedly going to be in Burning Crusade over the Draneai. I play WoW on and off and Ive got a year sub so Ill be playing after Mist Of Pandria. Also Pandas are [censored] awesome.

And I too am tired of hearing people saying that it's not based on Kung Fu Panda... because no one is saying that it's based off Kung Fu Panda. Just because they're in lore, doesn't mean we should be able to play them.

The last good Warcraft expansion was The Frozen Throne.

The game was fun, but I don't see the huge deal with the game. I put in a good three months when I was between consoles. I put in a my fair share of time, but I never felt it was anything spectacular.

Instant level 80? Haven't they already done enough to ensure that the low level questing zones are empty...

I hate how most of the game is spent in the cities now just waiting for the next queue.

That's one of the big problems yeah. I can only imagine how WoW players would handle classic Everquest, those that have never experienced it. You have to travel to the dungeon, you have to share it with everyone else (no instancing), you have to recover your corpse if you die inside, and there's usually no fast travel to get there.

Anyway, I still say if I get the urge to play WoW again I'll play Rift. I enjoyed the beta last year.

you forgot the corpse runs from the city you were bound to, instead of the nearest graveyard

Up until Wrath, I really liked the story. I've only been playing it since December, but I've been paying a lot of attention to the questlines and different stories. It's pretty gripping actually!

I can't access the Beta though, as your account has to have been active since before October 2011 :(

If someone has an account that they don't use anymore that I could put a subscription on for the Beta, I'd be over the moon! But only if you're definitely not going to want it back...

I would laugh SO hard seeing someone only used to WoW deal with old school EQ death penalties. Either run to your corpse naked, or hire a necromancer to summon your corpse if you want your gear back. Plus xp loss.

I also have to admit that I don't think I can honestly take rare drops or mobs seriously after doing the magician epic quest. Quillmane was ridiculous: no known spawning pattern, tons of competition, and a 50/50 drop rate it you DID find her.

Blizzard is getting desperate, hm? I just got an email saying that a friend wanted me back and if I reactivate I get a free upgrade to Cata, a boost to level 80 for one of my characters and a free week. It's legitimate but it's from a friend I've never heard of called Keystroke (also a type of spyware, hm). Either Blizzard is inventing friends in a desperation to draw people back or something odd is going on.

if it is legitimate it's most likely from a random person you don't really know

That's why it begs the question of why the hell they'd send me this.

Because they have no real friends and they want the mount?

That's probably not actually too rare for this game. The real friends thing.

Ehh, I'm not particularly stoked about Pandaren as a playable race, but at least they probably won't require twisting existing lore as much as Draenei and Worgen did.

Ha, yeah, the Draenei took a lot of 'introducing'...still, quite a cool race :)

Still on the lookout for an old, inactive WoW account by the way...would really appreciate it. I need one to take advantage of the Annual Pass and get Diablo III for free :)

So I have had to open 3 tickets concerning issues I had. 2 with a hacked account and 1 about getting a refund on Cataclysm. And every single one was answered within an hour. I can't believe how much Blizzard support has gotten better. They restored my account in no time and gave me a full refund on Cata because I used a scroll of res and didnt even know it came free. So I got a 40 dollar refund!

Leveling my 81 Shadow Priest right now, my friend who invited me back let me join the guild and it's awesome because all the guild members are local and hang out.

Just out of interest, are there any EU players on either Alonsus, Defias Brotherhood or Argent Dawn? They're the servers I'm on :) Alonsus is my main, just finished levelling a Holy Pally...geared for Heroics too!

My brother just sold his guild for 500-1000 €
And it wasn't even a good one.
Very weird guy (not my brother, the one who bought it). How can someone be so stupid to do that?
