yah just saw the "expansion" blizzard are making and i have to say....

Cata will be my last WoW update, played the game for 2 months in summer and I was planning on maybe giving it another go soon but now I just don't want to anymore....

EVER the game has lost me

.... blizzard should seriously start making new games and focusing on their other titles like diablo 3 and SC2

Blizzard I'm very disappointed, talk about lame ass ideas... PANDAS GOD DAM PANDAS

wow is now one big comic fest

See what I did there? There is plenty of species based off of animals.
I don't see why you are so mad. I mean we have talking cows , tuskar , werewolves/worgen, Arakkoa, centaurs, quilboar just among a few of them. I mean if you do not like the asian stereotype of the pandas I can see that ,but if you have a problem with it being humanoid you should of never played the dang game in the first place.

I have no problem with a beast themed race. In fact the Draenei are one of my favorite. However, the Pandaren seem rather gimmicky in this one. Sure you could argue the Trolls area may be reflective of a Caribbean tribal setting or that the simple fact of walking cows will ruin the game but at least they each of their own backstory and culture that meshes well with the game. So maybe I could accept playing a panda based race, maybe I could accept some asian themed locals, maybe I could accept playing a class based around said locale, however asking me to accept all 3 and say that is doesn't feel like a money grabbing gimmick is very wrong. The bigger issue I have is how quickly this one is being released. Its almost as though they ran out of ideas with Cata and are now trying to kill the franchise.....

Well, they kind of ran out of ideas with Lich King if you want to get technical. That's sort of where all of the original Warcraft 3 lore ended.

The pandas seem a bit odd to me, but....

...apparently, they were in Warcraft III, at some point. And I know that some people on the forums have been clamoring to play a Pandaren Brewmaster for years and years.

Those weren't implemented as a joke.

Furthermore they don't look exactly like a certain Disney character. Yes you may argue that Pandaren have been around since Warcraft III, but that was just one single Pandaren.
They were fully designed and thought of by Samwise Didier as his own nickname was Panda, he just involved them in the lore for [censored] and giggles. There is no place for them in WoW.

This is more pathetic than Thrall giving Leadership to Garrosh.

But in a gameplay stand point hasn't the lore been butchered for a while? It seems from Blizzard's recent doings they don't a give [censored] about the lore. Also, how else could a panda or panderian race look like? There is really not much room for how their bodies could be like , I mean come on skinny pandas? Seriously not to hurt the old warcraft fans who care about the lore but I rather have fun, the lore can stay in the back seat. Look at the gnomes and goblins , I forget the article but If I remember correctly I might be wrong on this but I think one of the developers said they were put in WoW for comic relief.

I've been thinking of maybe giving WoW another go because of pandaren.
The pandaren are in the lore (ever played Warcraft 3?)

I find it weir how people dislike the Pandaren, while they didn't mind the Gnomes and the Worgen, that never really was a part of the lore as far as I know, they just suddenly showed up in WoW. And nobody raged when they gave the Draenei a heavy makeover.
But as soon as some adorable Pandaren that are part of the lore show up everybody goes crazy.

They were part of the lore but I don't think that they were major parts of it. I know the brewmaster was meant originally as a joke but I think most blizzard fans will eat this up just like cataclysm and if the expansion process goes like it has been they will think at first this is fun and then later they will be bored. I don't know it is going to sell millions of copies and that is that.

I agree with that yes, but due to the Monk class implementation I feel gameplay will suffer even more, look at the crapfest the Death Knights started.
By looking like the Disney cartoon I mean the exactly replicated eastern style, they could have put more effort into making that more unique. And besides, Blizzard already had one race with asian architecture and all that stuff, they're called Night Elves.

And yes, gnomes were comic relief, but I feel as if Blizzard handled those extremely well and still managed to make them semi-respectable. Although they were the punching bag until the Anime Elves were introduced.

I play a talking Cow by the way, and by Cow I mean Bison who resembles native Americans and is thus extremely awesome. Not to mention they look pretty badass rather than fluffy, same can be said about Worgen, if Twilight never existed.

Gnomes were a unit in Warcraft II, Pandaren were an April Fool's joke and they only made up lore for them because some people liked them.

I know, I went a little to far. Still doesn't explain the Worgen and the make-over of the Draenei.

I'm not sure if Worgen were in the Warcraft RTS games, but they were prevalent in WoW since vanilla. Shadowfang Keep, for example.

Ok I agree that there will be and always will be unbalance within pvp and pve. I mean it is kinda hard to have balance with so many classes, hell almost every class has had their up and downs throughout the game's history. Hell ret pallys in pve is a joke and all the ten mans I have been in I have not seen a single one. I also agree somewhat on putting in effort to make the style more unique , BUT we have only seen parts of Panderia at the moment. The whole other half could be well made and unique, Also, take note of WoW's art style , it is cartoony in some ways. It might be difficult to make a serious asian style with a style that correlates with WoW's art style of now.

Maybe they honestly thought this is a good idea. The thing is , we are not the developers. They probably already have the next expansion after panderia set up in it's early stages. The thing is I don't think the developers at blizzard would risk hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue in a gimmick. They must think this a good idea or there wouldn't be this expansion, I mean if you were a head of a major game IP would you risk it on a gimic? No you wouldn't because you don't want to lose money. Sure there is a good amount of people that think of this as a joke and I am not surprised. But the thing is it will still make millions of dollars , I am pretty sure this won't flop.

Werewolves and minotaur are common in fantasy settings. It is hard to see panda men outside of children's movies. Plus no expansion yet has focused so heavily on a single race, usually the focus is more on a big villain. It is natural that lots of people would be dismayed by what is seen as a huge shift in tone and theme.

A new class. Remember season 5 and 6? And the chaos the introduction of DKs has caused? It's one more step away from balance.
No proper boss. Makes for a lot less interesting PvE content.
Revamping of even more dungeons. Oh yawn, Naxx, DM, SFK, ZG and ZA all failed to impress me. Not expecting anything from that.

New talent system, could be decent, haven't looked it over properly. But odds are 1-2 variations in spec will still be popular for every class just like it's pretty much always been.
