Your first vehicle

Post » Mon Sep 12, 2011 6:27 pm

My first car was a white 1998 Dodge Neon that we got for 900, got into an accident with it and the mechanic we took it to did shotty work, and it finally died about a year later.
Then I got a white 1990 Toyota Camery..... Let's just say I murdered that one 6 months later. It had an oil leak and I kept forgetting to check it and I ended up seizing up the engine..... That svcked.
And now I have a midnight blue 2004 Chrysler Sebring, that I got for 2000, and so far so good. Maybe my bad luck with cars is over.

Out of all of them, the Neon is still my baby... I miss my sixy B*tch Mobile :( (I had a purple vanity plate that said sixy B*tch.)

My first and current car is a silver http://images.thecarconnection.com/med/2006-honda-element-4wd-at-orange_100053879_m.jpg. It may not be very fast or sporty, or the car I would have picked for myself (my parents got it for me,) I love it. It works like a dream, is very roomy on the inside, and should work very well for years to come.

Neon's are incredibly easy to fix. Should've brought it to my house, I've got a surplus of parts and a lot of tools I could've fixed it for ya lickety split.

Title is misleading, I expected it to be about your first vehicle, not your first car. I would've been a smart aleck and said my feet.

Mine was a 17 year old 1993 BMW, my grandfather gave it to me when I got my liscense. IT was, in retrospect, a pretty crappy car, it was falling apart when I got it and only laster about 2 years before it finally kicked the bucket (cracked cylinder), but I loved that thing to death man. Your first car always holds a special place in ones heart.

How old are you? That's a pretty decent first vehicle.

On that note, I remember seeing it on Top Gear just a few days ago.

Neons are easy to fix. Just tow it to the nearest scrap metal place and recycle it.

My first vehicle wasn't a car but a Scooter an Ortho-kinetics Triumph (a 3-wheel electric mobility scooter like what you may see a senior citizen use)
It may not sound like much to a lot of you but that scooter was a godsend to me.

I have a nice Toyota Aygo, a popular first car here in the UK.

I need to get to learn everything about it though, the mechanics, engine etc. so whenever there is a fault I can fix it myself unless it is a serious one (in that case, garage straightaway).

I'll make a concerted effort to learn EVERYTHING about the first car I buy with my own money.
