AaGeOn's HQ Texture Pack - WiP -

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 9:07 am

Forgot to mention that unless the texture has transparency like tree leaves you get the same results with DXT1 without the bloated file size.

thanks for the tip :)

Good job!

I think the meshes in greatest need of retexturing are clothes, armors and house interiors... most of them seem to have texture of lower resolution than Oblivion :violin:

Well I'm going to do a full texture pack, but will release part by part until it's a complete package :)

excellent! could you also comment on performance impact for those of us with ageing PCs? thanks :D

Well so far I only lost around 1 fps on ultra + ini edits. So it doesn't really have an impact on the system :)

I think the default looks better here http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s5/AaGeOn/ncom2.jpg At least the choice of texture that is.

Other than that, nice work

Still need to add bigger "black" spots to it :)
But imo the original lacked depth and detail.

I noticed some of the textures look completely new while others look exactly like the vanilla textures upsampled. I have no problem with upsampling as Im achieving good results myself. In really just curious if that us what you are doing in certain cases i.e. rocks.

So,my beloved msi gtx 560 ti 1gb ddr5 should run your textures with no performance issues :D

All textures will be new, the road rocks are still place holders. So in the end nothing will be left in upscaled :)

I'm also creating all the Normal maps for each texture, so no stock textures will be used. I also put in a lot of efford in fine-tuning the new normal maps by hand so that every texture looks the way I want it to :)

Here is a screenshot of "faceplanting" your character against an object :D :

Aye, the vanilla is too low res but I just meant the choice of texture not the res/detail :) but anyway it doesn't matter if you just haven't added the spots yet :)
