Hrm if I'm right the grenade SMG's barrel from the from looks more like a cannon barrel in the picture I saw of it in a gaming magazine, which would indicate at least in the initial pictures we saw of it that the camera angle perspective made the barrel look thinner than it is, that or the devs have widened it since then.

Not all of our gun designs are directly based on real-world weapons. Some are hybrids and others just pick and choose various elements.

Its nice to let the gun-nuts dream though isn't it? :P

The new shotgun basically looks like a generic slide-action shotty. I got a pretty good look at it when I paused the video and didn't see anything that really stuck out except for the drum mag. I suspect this is probably the afore-mentioned "riot gun", since most riot guns are pumps. I also suspect that the drum mag is a weapons mod. I haven't seen the combat shotgun yet, so it may not be in, but by adding the drum mag it kinda allows us to make our own combat shotty. I also don't believe it is semi-auto. The vid was showing gameplay moving into and out of VATS, and while it seemed like the pc didn't cycle the action himself, I ran it back a few times and I caught just the tail end of him moving the action by hand between the first and second shots. At least that's what it aeemed like. Unless it's dual mode and that could be another mod available.

Was that the Combat Shotgun in the Qore vid? If so, it looks awesome. I really liked the Fallout 3 Combat Shotgun and it would be a shame if it didn't return. Being able to mod such an awesome gun and go to town with some slugs would be incredible.

Actualy it looks more like the pump action the army started to deploy shortly before Pancor was developed, you could load some rounds in the pipe like a standard pump and it had 2 diferent one a box and the other a 15 round can.

Yes but I'm sure as you know us Gun Nuts love to obsess and nitpick Gun designs that appear in any form of media, Although I myself am pretty satisfied at what I've seen so far I can't help but wonder if we might see a man portable version of the good ol' "Ma Duece" I'll hope for an answer on this but I know that my cry for help will most likely be left unanswered.

EDIT:
Speaking of the Shotgun shown in the Qore Video:

It basically looked exactly like the http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/ithaca37hs.jpg except it has a drum behind the the slide action, looked really awesome. :tops:

Can't wait to see what other weapons Obsidian has in store for us. ;)

EDIT: I'm thinking the drum magazine may just be a mod for the Ithaca (AKA Pump-Action Shotgun)

It'd be a real shame if they replaced the old Combat shotgun. It was pretty much my favorite Small Gun in Fallout 3. Imagine how great it could have been with the mods.

Be nice to see a type of power head weapon, remember reading on the wiki they used to have a powerhead glove similar to that weapon in Glorious Bastards.

A stick variant would be nice.

Their basically a one shot weapon that uses a cartridge or shot and used in close proximity, usually for extreme fishing or watermelons....
