1.8 Beta Update, Solstheim DLC hints - Thread #12

Post » Thu Oct 18, 2012 2:23 pm

There is (or was) an investigation into whether they are or arent. I think they're just... there. To be fun. They're actually the native race of this planet.

Well considering nature doesn't have taxonomic regulations every bear is there to be cuddly and fun.

Seriously? Well they shouldn't be, too girly to be bears. Might as well have werebunnies.

They are not "girly". They can get pissed.

I'd wager 99.99999% of life on this planet is native to it.

Right.. Because I don't see the appeal in going psycho on random people that must mean I'm a complete, and utter pacifist.

All I want is an Arena, and most of the old spells back.
I'm waiting to see the ruins of Fort Frostmoth. I'm exited to see if Dunmer refugees have done anything to them - maybe they have build settlement around the ruins and an arena on the inner court of the ruins?

Unless we were barren and seeded by some alien bacterial space rocks. :) Then we're all aliens.

I'm suspecting it might be the location of the Telvanni Tower...

The proper name is "wererabbit" actually, and sadly, the last of their kind was destroyed by Lord Wallace of Gromit.

re: guns
the trigger thing is most likely some sort of button or lever, not a gun part. isn't that obvious?
no guns will be in this DLC

I wonder what types of spears we will get.

And I still want that damn necromancer minigame where we can dissect a live human!

Would you like to put forth some kind of justification for this? I for one am inclined to disagree with you. Apocrypha would be perfect if we wanted to spend a DLC doing fetch quests for books, but otherwise it doesn't seem that cool.
The thing that draws me to Apocrypha is that there is so little known about it. Yes, we know the general layout (endless library full of forbidden knowledge) but there are only like two books that describe it. In each of these books, it doesn't give a very good description, no hints of the enemies that you face inside, no idea if there is Herma-Mora and a palace deeper inside. They only give us the barest explanation of it. The Hunting Grounds in contrast are pretty well explained: Endless fields, forests, and canyons devoted to staying away from Hircine as he finds and kills you. I'm not saying a Hunting Ground DLC would be boring, I would be all for it. But Apocrypha has some much mystery around it that we might actually be able to learn more than going to Hircine's Realm.

Pity that, I was looking forward to RPing a farmer in the new Watership Down DLC. ;)

I'm suspecting it might be the location of the Telvanni Tower...

I would expect that Tower to be far up in the north, in the icy regions.
I once wrote a Fanfic where Castle Karstaag was turned into a Telvanni Tower, with Mushroom architecture spilling out of every crack. :D
I guess the Telvanni would not want to hang around in the south with those other Dunmer.

Well sir or madam, I for one would love to see werebunnies in this DLC or even the next game. I personally think the main quest should revolve around their rise to power and the subsequent genocide they carry out against other werecreatures using their superior numbers.

NOOOOOOOOOO! That would totally spoil the ruins. Telvanni Towers in Morrowind were the most disgusting places in the game.

So you hope that a large portion of Skyrim gamers don't get to experience a decent chainmail/fur combo because it looks similar to something you have? Right.

Oh god. I remember watching the animated movie of that when I was in kindergarten in an afterschool program. The aides thought it was okay because it was animated and had bunnies on it, so they left us alone to go out and smoke. We were all too horrified to make any noise and alert them to the fact we were freaked out by it.

Still, it's a good story. I should reread it soon.

Have you lost your mind? :D
Those towers are giant reproduction organs of fungi.
Only Telvanni would built their houses in such things.
It's epic! :D

And there will be one Telvanni Tower in the DLC.

Tell me about it, I started with two when I was 12. Before I was 13, I'd already sold or given away 20. With only the mama and papa breeding. Werebunnies could easily overrun Tamriel.
