Bethesda, can we get any sort of timeline for a patch?

What is this "disc" thing you speak of  I was talking about cartridge based games

I obviously meant ps1/saturn/ps2/dreamcast era stuff.

Its been over a month, and still nothing. WTF is going on. I'm about to sell my soul to Halo 4 and COD BOII. This is terrible fan service and customer service. Very dissappointed.

I'm pretty sure Call of Bring-us-more-of-your-Money "Black Ops 2" and Halo "We should have stopped at 3" 4 will not be any better.

From what I understand, disc based games didn't get rereleased with patches at all. It was just cartridge based games until the advent of connecting the internet to your console came along, then thats when developers got lazy because they knew they could just patch it later or release a DLC later if they didn't bother to finish the game on time. (Yes that's what DLC really is in a nutshell)

People might not know this, but how do you think console games were patched before consoles could be connected to the internet. Trick question! they werent!

Not to say they werent patched at all, they were but the only way to get these versions were to buy the game all over again. Games had alot less bugs back then too, all of them were minor and none of them were game breaking. Times have changed so much now, game developers would never be able to get away with the crap they do these days back then.

Yup! Absolutely right.
But keep in mind that modern games are way more complex than the games of yesterday.
More complexity, more bugs.

And online multiplayer didn't exist in the 80s...

It was the Dreamcast/PS2 era when games got so complex and time schedules so tight that bugs turned into a real problem.
There were several games that had gamebraking bugs on both platforms which obviously never got patched at all.

Indeed, I wont deny that. But still, they should atleast "attempt" to compensate for this though :P

First one that comes to mind is Prince of Persia Warrior Within.

There were revisions, but they were rare.

Well I finished the game on nightmare and I know what you guys mean about the graphics. It actually is worse than doom3 lmao. I don't know how they could release something like this. Graphics are rather screwed up. If you play it in 3D with triple buffering it does look quite nice & is it's only saving grace. It took me a while to tweak the settings so my shots were accurate. Kinda a PITA having to constantly save as you go .

Ok? No one is saying Doom 3 isn't an awesome game, what we are saying is the graphics and amount of glitches are worse than the 2004 original. So it's basically a worse version of a good game they are charging $30-40 for

Good for you, now beat Doom and Doom 2 in Nightmare! mode on standalone versions where the difficulty is balls to the wall, not neutered like they did with it for the BFG Edition.

Console games during that era were also less complex, less of a chance for someone to screw something up.
